Charlies \"Good Cause\"?

Both Noirin and Isaak have both mention this in their interview.
Is charlie donating the winning to a gay burns ward?
What is his "good cause"?
Sounds a little like Craig from bb1

loomy 01-08-2009 09:11 AM

I think it's his mum who's in a coma and he hopes it will help her. He hasn't milked it though.

Daffodil 01-08-2009 09:12 AM

I think it is something to do with his Mum ... has she a disease or something?.. it's something along those lines anyway.

amy-jayne 01-08-2009 09:12 AM

His mums in a coma i think, and the money will help

DrunkerThanMoses 01-08-2009 09:12 AM

Oh crap... looks liek this seals the coffin for him winning now! :yuk:

Daffodil 01-08-2009 09:13 AM

I don't wish to sound heartless, but I don't think people should play the pity card to win BB.

Daffodil 01-08-2009 09:14 AM

No amount of money will bring anyone out of a coma.

He hasn't, obviously or people would know about it

Freddies support has mostly come out of pity anyways

ShelleySkruFayce 01-08-2009 09:16 AM

Charlie has only mentioned it a couple of times.. so it's not like he's playing the pity card is it?

I aint a fan of his, and to be honest I dont see how the money could help his comatose mother..

But he is not playing the pity card.

How comes everyone knows about it then?

hennessy 01-08-2009 09:17 AM

I didn't realise his mum was in a come.
I don't see how the money will help but at least he's not flashing it around.
(although it was enough for Isaak to step down supposedly)

He mentioned it on lf some time last week. That's about 6 weeks in and the first time we all heard about it. That's not what I call playing the pity card

In the same conversation Marcus was talking about how he doesn't have a family to support him

Daffodil 01-08-2009 09:19 AM

Yes Isaac mentioned something along the lines of something that Charlie had said.
Again, apologies, but this reeks of emotional blackmail.

Knows about what? The speculation and rumour? We 'know' nothing more than that.

DiamondDogTags 01-08-2009 09:25 AM

I didn't know that about his mum. I'm more interested on what Freddie would do with the money? Kenneth promised it to charity as well.

Showstopper 01-08-2009 09:27 AM

The money would help as the hospital bills for someone in a coma is huge.

She still has to be cared for and monitored by doctors and specialists. Plus of she does come out of a coma she will probably need substantial medical care

Probably use it to start his own business. He wouldn't do anything noble wit him - he's not rich independent of his parents

It was in the redtop newspapers before and just as the series started. His mum is in a coma, I thought most knew.

As BB don't seem to have shown this on the HLs hopefully they don't want the pity card to influence voters either...

Daffodil 01-08-2009 09:28 AM

I think contestants should be made to be 100% discreet with their potential winnings. It directly 'influences' the public vote and is unfair .. and will lead to more and more woeful tales coming out. Lets nip it in the bud now. Time for honesty.

xmynxiex 01-08-2009 09:31 AM

If charlies mum iS in a coma then why an earth is he on BB? surely you would want to be there for your mum? what if she woke up? the guys unbelieveable. If my mum was in a coma i would want to spend as much time as i could with her. And not be on a reality tv show.

good point, you're probably right. Try and prove he can make it on his own kind of thing.

They say it will take nearly 3 years before any signs of recovery.

Caramel77 01-08-2009 09:33 AM

Agreed Daffodil, I've always found the sob stories that come out in the singing competitions tedious to the extreme. So hopefully they won't start it here.

Get real. Isaac stepped down because the HMs, to a man think Charlie is going to win. They have a better sense of what sort of person he is. He sees the very best in everyone. If someone 'does the dirty on him' in the house, he can react in the short term but he always sees it as a one off incident that does not change the basic goodness in that person. He processes what has happened, bounces back and supports the person who has wronged him.

He is just a downright, wholeheartedly GOOD human being and his HMs have seen that again and again. Hence there conviction that he will win.

Isaac was not going to stay any longer when he realsied he hat a snowball's chance in hell of winning. Time will tell whether the rest of the great British public see enough of the reality of Charlie's goodness that, for me, simply glows through the screen. I wish he would smile a bit more, it really lights up the house when he is in a happy mood.

Chrarlie:kiss:

I love his name too, my daughter is called Charlie and she is good and kind like he is.

Excuse me, but in England we have a thing called The National Health Service. We DON'T pay!!!

hennessy 01-08-2009 09:36 AM

Thank you xmynxiex
Why is he in there!?
When my mum was having chemo I couldn't stay away.
He didn't ask for any news about her, instead choosing a Happy meal from his token.
Sorry if that sounded unsympathatic

Oh right..... so a red top newspaper publishing it is how we know? So these people implying we know because Charlie is milking it in the house are talking a load of tosh!!! Thankyou.

My case proven.

Charlie

karezza 01-08-2009 09:38 AM

Charlie will do & say anything to win.

Don't let it happen - he is horrible.

read the article. 3 years until she shows any sign of recovery

Charlie
I don't think he is milking it myself. I've never really heard him say anything regarding his mum's situation. For all we know Isaac may have heard from another housemate and not Charlie himself.

karezza 01-08-2009 09:43 AM

Charlie makes me want to puke.
He is an evil dartsab who will say or do anything to get his dirty hands on the £100,000.

:cloud:

Daffodil 01-08-2009 09:43 AM

I wonder how many other tales of personal sadness the OTHER housemates have, but they are dignified enough to keep it confidential. It is emotional blackmail and should never have got into the public domain.

I appreciate him even more now, though I treat the Daily Star with extreme scepticism. He is a thoroughly upbeat character but I DO see sadness in his face sometimes and now I can understand why. He has a huge streak of empathy in him and hates to see others suffering, hence his often going to the underdog in the house (the current whipping boy of the mob) and trying to lift their spirits. The world needs more people like him.

He is open and honest about this and lets the others know that he does not approve of them attacking people like they do. I notice they try to convince him to join in, but he can't bring himnself to do so.... witness the DR incident with the towels, one amongst many cases.

Charlie:kiss:

hennessy 01-08-2009 09:45 AM

I didn't think he was milking (that's why I had to start a thread to find out) and I didn't realise there was a date (didn't know you could forecast Comas) and I can't change my post now.
I still think he's a nice guy

Daffodil 01-08-2009 09:47 AM

Remember Craig? He gave his winnings to a down's syndrome relative AFTER he had won fair and square.

Funny how you can rewrite history. There was spedulative coverage of his intentions well before the end of the show!

Of course, he won the show on his own merits, just as Charlie will.

I think Charlie has been a knob all week! Everything he does now annoys me! HE CANNOT WIN!
