Is it racist to call somebody a \'Yorkshire Pudding\'?

No it isn't racist, but it's really offencive. She keeps bringing up the fact that he's from Yorkshire all the time. Like the word 'Yorkshire' is a slur.
She thinks he's thick because he's norhtern.

''He talks about binal things like YORKSHIRE PUDDINGS''
''He's just a Yorkshire pudding''

She is so rude. Why would someone talk about yorkshire puddings all the time just because they are from Yorkshire.

Northerners are just benieth her. Obviously.

PMSL, sorry but calling someone a Yorkshire Pudding is not offensive. LMFAO. :joker:

philmurph 03-08-2009 06:06 PM

She is a bitch who needs to be taken down a peg or two:yuk:

Lauren 03-08-2009 06:06 PM

Mmm, I love Yorkshire puddings. If someone called me one I'd feel complimented, they're tasty!

spitfire 03-08-2009 06:06 PM

No but if you call someone a 'Lancashire hot pot' you'd be in trouble.:spin2:

oopaloompa 03-08-2009 06:08 PM

The trouble is tho, she does mean it as an insult and not a funny remark.

BitterFruit 03-08-2009 06:09 PM

she needs to be careful or she'll get batter'd.......

Sticks 03-08-2009 06:11 PM

It's more an insult to a fine Yorkshire delicacy

IsleOfWeather 03-08-2009 06:20 PM

but I take the OP's point. She is being a southern snob

vladicus 03-08-2009 06:23 PM

im from yorkshire west yorkshire and if anybody called me a yorkshire pudding id be like ok now im going to after cry

MissKittyFantastico 03-08-2009 06:24 PM

No it's not racist.

That word gets bandied about far too much these days imo, as well as the word bully.

However she did mean it as an insult, and it's not the first time she's done this.

She also called Isaac a redneck, and a hillbilly, without knowing what either word meant, but she meant it as an insult.

She also looks down on Lisa for being on the dole.

It seems to me that Queen Bea measures everyone else against her own feeling of self importance. She is most certainly a snob.

TheOfficialAdam 03-08-2009 06:26 PM

I personally wouldn't say its racist.

spitfire 03-08-2009 06:27 PM

ricky2k9 03-08-2009 06:32 PM

how is it racist, shes just called him it coz he always talks about yorkshire puddings. lol he is a right noddy

danu_schafer 03-08-2009 06:49 PM

Well I'm from Yorkshire and if someone called me a Yorkshire Pudding I would just laugh. I hate David I think he's an idiot. To use the insult on him might be offensive to because 'pudding' can be meant as an alternative for idiot or stupid.

It's like calling someone fat! To a fat person this is insulting, to a skinny person they would just laugh.

A white/British person......nope, not at all.

An Indian or someone from that area of Asia, it could be interpreted that way. Depends on why you're calling them one, if you mean it as an insult when you call it them. Surely to call them it you are digging at their culture/background and it implies a negative insult?

Beastie 03-08-2009 06:55 PM

i like davids strong yorkshire accent :D yorkshire people who have been on big brother are either a hit or miss!

I bet you 70% of the people who complain are people who don't even watch the show and have nothing better to do then to complain about Channel 4 programmes and the fact that they pay for a TV license and so therefore they should be able to choose what......blah blah blah and the rest of it!

cookiemonster 03-08-2009 06:59 PM

you need to get a life if you think calling somebody a yorkshire pudding is racist. you also need to look up the word racist, because people from Yorkshire aren't a race.
