I can't stand watching films on my pc, much prefer watching them on my TV. Anyway my recomondations would be:

Let the Right One In
Princess Mononoke (and generally anything Studio Ghibli, they can do no wrong in my eyes)
The Orphanage
The Royal Tenenbaums (I LOVE LOVE LOVE this film and Wes Anderson in general)
Grave of the Fireflies (Another Studio Ghibli film, but I'd reccomend it anyway. Completely heartbreaking but brilliant.)

Another great mix of films dude. Metropolis is obviously the one to watch on an aesthetic level, with some visuals still holding up and retaining their power. Amazing what German Expressionism achieved.

Have a soft spot for A Fistful of Dynamite because it's a lesser known Sergio Leone film -without having the star power of Clint Eastwood- but it has two great leads and a wonderful score by Ennio Morricone. Silly fun.

It depends what you're looking for Ghostface. I'll watch anything, whatever genre. What did you think of the european version of Leon? Haven't see that one in ages but remember there was much more of a sexual overtone between the two leads that probably influenced the studios when they decided to cut it again. Apparently Besson was raging over it.

I prefer the "international" version, more of my fave film it's gotta be good.
It was Besson's baby so can imagine he'd be raging.
I don't think the american audiences could handle the risque eventual platonic relationship.

Luc Besson

BBUK4LYFE good film but prefer the 1975 version

I honestly can't really answer that question properly as I'm not familiar enough with his french films, particularly the ones he's produced. I wouldn't class myself as a fan of his in the first place. He's made one or two classics but the rest I can live without- too much style over substance.

Anway..... my favs would be Leon, Fifth Element and the Big Blue. I really love the Big Blue because it's very odd but seems to be very important to the director. Has some beautiful scenes in it.

I love those kinda films...heroic, heartfelt failures that are sooo close to being perfect. So many films like Big Blue that I love but know that they're lacking in certain areas.

He also produced Nil by Mouth. Didn't realise that.

Thanks. Just not great on pcs myself so always amazed with anyone who can tinker with them. And you then can burn them onto cds after you've downloaded? You must be amassing quite a collection at this stage

I won't bother burning them onto dvds unless somebody wants to have a film. My terrabyte (I've lovingly called Mnemosyne) is my library.
As soon as it's filled I'll buy another for under £100

I've got to get me one of those. I'm just not sure how good my pc is though.... it's about six months old...top of the line. Should have all the right moves yeah? God, I sound like a moron..... point and shoot- that's all I'm good for on these things.
