did everyone not see this a mile off?

cookiemonster 12-08-2009 02:27 PM

not funny :bored:

don't see how there was (rightly) outrage about Freddie last night but people think this is funny. it's cruel to play with his feelings like that, especially when he's done nothing to deserve it.

Rod will see the funny side and he will be happy for the tokens and the special prize. And I wasn't outraged by Freddie last night

MissKittyFantastico 12-08-2009 02:33 PM

I don't think Roddy will see the funny side tbh, I can see a temper tantrum coming once he realises it was all fake.

He takes this whole royalty thing very seriously and I think he'll find it disrespectful that BB are essentially mocking him for that.

I actually think it's quite cruel of BB to do this.

Agreed. He will be so excited, and made to look like a fool.

He will deffinately NOT see the funny side.

cookiemonster 12-08-2009 02:35 PM

imagine thinking you're about to get one of your life's ambitions, then you find out it was just a cruel joke and everyone, even your friends were in on it, laughing at you.

not nice at all.

danda012 12-08-2009 02:36 PM

That is mean. Rodrigo won't be happy. I can see him going off on one as he likes to do.

greysky 12-08-2009 02:41 PM

bb is playing a really dangerous game here .... if Rodrigo get upset and walk ...can you imagine the uproar it will cause ?

cookiemonster 12-08-2009 02:44 PM

all we can hope is that he doesn't get too upset:sad:

I agree, it's a bit of a cheap laugh by BB

cookiemonster 12-08-2009 02:47 PM

just coz they're running out of ideas they resort to this. sick b@stards.

loomy 12-08-2009 02:47 PM

god people are so sensitive on here

the hm's agree to this sort of thing when they enter the house. They must know that most of the time people will be laughing at them

Cybele 12-08-2009 02:50 PM

Knowing Rodrigo's general response to something he feels is disrespectful, this will NOT go well. It is a pretty mean thing to do to him. Meeting the Queen is the thing he describes as his biggest dream. And BB is going to make a fool out of him for it. I fear he may walk off of the show as a result.

loomy 12-08-2009 02:51 PM

I think you're all going to be very surprised. Rodrigo probably has more of a sense of humour than all of you combined

He may do but this is something he really wanted. The chances are he might react similar to how he has with Charlie.

I absolutely agree with you.

Josy 12-08-2009 02:57 PM

Rodrigo's response = "This is very disrespectful"

I dont think he will be bothered too much by it tbh.

Sophie will go far, far down in my estimations if she doesn't try to tell him it's not the real queen.

But he obviously has this dream to meet the Queen for real and he has a lot of respect for all things British.

Going by how he has reacted to much pettier little things in the house, the fact that BB are actually mocking him for having respect for the Queen of the country he seems to love so much can only end one way as I see it.

He's going to feel like a total fool, and not react well IMO.

Shasown 12-08-2009 03:14 PM

Oh come on be serious its not an experimant in social behaviour any more its a bloody freak show.

Yeah I heard that too, with Sir Ian Blair handling the complaints

CaudleHalbard 12-08-2009 03:20 PM

I think there is a possibility that when Rodrigo finds out, as he inevitably will, that it is all fake and a joke on him, he will feel BB has been disrespectful (or indeed deesreespectfool) - to both him and Her Maj.

Possibility he might even walk........

Mickey2009 12-08-2009 03:47 PM

BIG BROTHER'S Take on it: Haha Roddy will love it, the HM's will love it, the country will love it,

Rodrigos take on it

He'll sit in the Diary Room with his mouth wide open then say ''Beeeeg Brotor why you do this to me''? ...how you do this to me? . . Then it'll sink in that Charlie and Sophie never told him, the only 2 friends he has in the house and then he'll be thinking 'everyone is laughing at me now in England'' they hate me.. I wouldn't do something like that to them if they went on Brazilian Big Brother .....

A young kid in a strange country been made to look a fool on National TV He'll Imagine been made the laughing stock of England ...

Wasn't it well thought out by big brother.?..I hope its the BB take that Rod goes for because if its the second he'll be (inside his head thinking) destroyed for life, only known as the kid who was made to look a fool on tv.

Shasown 12-08-2009 03:51 PM

So he signed up to spend 3 months in a house on national TV for a 100 grand prize, not knowing they were likely to pull a stunt or two that would make people look silly?

Oh he expected to be the one not made a fool of.

Do you really buy that?

CaudleHalbard 12-08-2009 03:52 PM

Well who knows, perhaps Rod will see through the whole thing from the word go!

I rather hope so actually.

trasadkel 12-08-2009 03:54 PM

Notice Sophies face when they initially tell the secret. You can see that she is thinking that it is not very nice for Rod. It is very cruel as Rod is a very sensitive person.

Mind you if he throws one of his hissy fits it will be hilarious because that is what has endeared me to him.

I agree. I forget what it was, but something happened a few weeks ago which was a very small thing. Rodrigo was VERY concerned about how that would make him look to the public. And that was something small. This is something very important to him. I hope he doesn't walk out.

CaudleHalbard 12-08-2009 04:07 PM

Rod's hissy fits are usually at Charlie and occasionally other HMs.

I suspect his reaction may well be different because it is Authority (in the form of BB) which has done this. He may just become disillusioned and depressed, rather than throwing a tantrum.

He can't even blame the HMs because they are just doing as they have been told - and of course Rod is all for that!
