Embarassment about going to doctors?

I always get embarassed and I know I shouldn't. They've seen everything going probably, I just think it's a personal thing. I don't like people invading my privacy at the best of times but once I'm there it's fine. It's not that I have anything to be embarassed about, I wouldn't go there if I didn't need to know something/help with something and I know doctors are professional but still.

I'm just wondering if alot of people are like me and get embarassed?

Princess 15-11-2009 11:52 PM

I think everyone gets embarassed. It's hard not to. I havn't been to the doctor in years though *touch wood*

Ross 15-11-2009 11:53 PM

I had to go because I had mumps when I was 13 and I have to regular... how do I put this nicely "willy checkups?" lmao.

DrunkerThanMoses 15-11-2009 11:54 PM

Never been to the docters, had a problem down their when I was 5 so went then, but i was young so cant remeber.

Princess 15-11-2009 11:55 PM

Hahaha! No wonder you get embarassed then, that's private! But yeah doctors have seen everything, when I was doing nursing I didn't even think about it.

MrGaryy 16-11-2009 12:14 AM

well I used to be but I recently got an operation of my well balls so I've been examined and xrayed so many times now it doesn't phase me any more LOL.

Tom4784 16-11-2009 12:18 AM

I do I've only had that kind of check once though, still quite horrible though. But like Laura said it doesn't phase them so it's best to try and put it out your mind.

Hugo 16-11-2009 12:30 AM

ew, I hate it.

Ross 16-11-2009 12:31 AM

It's just an uncomfortable environment I think, lol.

Princess 16-11-2009 12:36 AM

Doctors aren't the best at reassuring people to be honest, with their white coats and clipboards(well in hospitals anyways). They seem inferior or something, while nurses seem more human.

Ross 16-11-2009 12:36 AM

I could never have a female nurse though inspect my genitals. No way.

Tom4784 16-11-2009 12:38 AM

I think I'd have preferred a nurse really, It was just awkward.

Ross 16-11-2009 12:41 AM

Nah male doctor also got a penis so he knows what he talking about!

Princess 16-11-2009 12:43 AM

Ok for personal issues,I think both genders like the same gender but otherwise nurses are better :P

Ross 16-11-2009 12:44 AM

Nurse Bolger

This was all before the whole bisexuality business so I was like 'He's touching my balls he's touching my balls OMFG his hand grazed the shaft! :bawling:'

It was so awkward.

Ross 16-11-2009 12:47 AM

LMAO.

Don't go now Dean you'd be like... "DON'T TOUCH THE BALLS ALL THE TIME, PUT YER MOUTH ROUND MY DICK!"

Hugo 16-11-2009 12:48 AM

sluts.

Ross 16-11-2009 12:49 AM

lol probably not, I only dip my toes into the Bi pool occasionally and the doctor was someone that would make me run faraway from the metaphorical pool.

Ross 16-11-2009 12:51 AM

lolololol

Hugo 16-11-2009 12:51 AM

Kind of, I'm a bit of a part timer  It's not the best label to describe me but for the sake of being easy I'll say yes.

Ross 16-11-2009 01:00 AM

ohk/

Sticks 16-11-2009 06:41 AM

Going to the doctors not a problem

Getting time off work to go, there's the issue.

Lauren 16-11-2009 09:15 AM

Never had to go about anything personal so never had any bad experiences really.
Apart from when I went for the pill, the dr was writing notes on my sex life! I wasn't sure whether that was normal...but yeah, they see and hear everything everyday, they're probably bored of balls.

Tom 16-11-2009 10:23 AM

I've never had to drop my boxers for the doctor and I'm there a lot anyway so I'm practically on first name terms with him

Yeah but when the problem is testicle/cock related - I'm guessing dropping your boxers plays a big part.

Crimson Dynamo 16-11-2009 10:40 AM

I had to go once as I had a painful poison penis.

I asked the doctor if I could get something for the pain but could he leave the swelling...

I wanted to die. "Hi I have a lump on my balls, you wanna check that out for me? Thanks, I'll just stand and hey wait, is that window open? It's kinda cold in here. Cool yeah you're just fondling my balls. You know, I've never been this close to a guy before, you want a cigarette? I'll be your fag. Yeah, cool. Nothing wrong? Oh? Okay, I'll just go and step out in traffic now. Byeeee!"

Never again.

Never again.

Well the main thing is you found something wrong and went to get it checked out. We're very proud.

But at what cost, Tom? But at what cost!?

Ross 16-11-2009 11:13 AM

Greg that sounds like a Dear Deidre article in The Sun. :joker:

Sticks 16-11-2009 03:30 PM

As I mentioned, when you ask for time off to see the doctor, line management sometimes asks what it is about.

My line manager kept telling me to ask the doctor to weigh me, or asking if the doctor weight me.

Captain.Remy 16-11-2009 03:52 PM

I've never had the odd balls-penis-ass checking issue and I hope I will never have.
I don't have a problem with my doctor. I mean, she's nice and I've almost never seen her because my mum is a nurse so it helps.

I would be terrified if one day she asks me: 'Drop your pants, take your legs back, I'm putting some lube and HERE WE GO !' lmao
