Olly Murs gets totally slated for not boo-hooing about lame Lloyd's departure

The more we stare at this picture, the more we have to admit that the sight of Olly Murs in total and utter ecstacy at being kept in The X Factor isn't the most attractive thing we've ever seen.

But we still think it's a leeeeetle bit unfair that he's being slated for leaping and whooping and grunting without so much as a "there there" in Lloyd's direction.

Lloyd was crap. Lloyd totally outstayed his welcome. We all knew that, so we're pretty sure his fellow X Factor contestants knew that too, and must have been feeling rather anxious about the idea of someone so average staying in at their expense. And anyway, Lloyd doesn't need faux condolences from Olly when he has Cheryl to tenderly stroke his sunkissed locks and reassure him that "it's alreet, pet, yous got a greet futcha doon Butlins".

At least Olly's emotion was genuine. Lloyd's not his best mate - they've only known each other a few months, and they're all in it to win it - so there's no way his natural instinct on hearing the good news about his own fate would be to cuddle some random teenager from Wales and make out he's gutted to see him go.

Some people are even saying that Olly's less than gracious victory has scuppered his chances of going any further in the show. Er, no. He's made it to the semi-finals, and Joe's going to win anyway, so it's all pretty much meaningless from now on.

It's still not a very attractive pose though. If that's his sex face, we'll stick with Danyl Johnson/ do it in a different position/ make him wear our Jedward mask.

Olly was in his right to have this reaction, he got saved, he was happy. Period. People are just hatin' for the sake of hating so don't bullshit the bullshit, Lloyd is gone. He was crap.

Why ? Because he stayed ? Maybe because he was happy to stay ? What then ?

alc09 30-11-2009 06:09 PM

Spot on.

It's only the sheep shaggers who seem to care anyway, which isn't surprising, because lets be honest, they aren't exactly right in the head.

I'm sure the rest were happy to stay but they didn't feel the need to do that. At least save it until he's off stage

I felt it was a bit unnecessary, I bet he wouldn't like it if Lloyd did the same thing he got through and Olly didn't. He needs to remember Lloyd was in the situation he didn't want to be in

Showing no respect to Lloyd,
your all moaning about him being so happy and its his dream,
well it was Lloyds dream too and Lloyds a nice enough lad to have shown respect to Olly - if it was the other way around.

He should have either, not gone OTT, or gone OTT but shake Lloyds hand and whatnot.

alc09 30-11-2009 06:12 PM

From the same site, different article.

Phew. It's fair to say we're delighted that Lloyd Daniels - whose only series highlights were the ones in his hair - has finally departed The X Factor, but for a terrifying second there, we thought it might actually be Olly or Danyl who'd get the boot.

Thankfully, common sense prevailed (or, at least, the tweenagers of Britain got their phones confiscated before they could piss away any more credit on multiple votes for lame-o Lloyd) and we're now left with a pretty accomplished final four.

Brilliant.

I like that - very funny and very true! :joker:

Shaun 30-11-2009 08:27 PM

I think he could have toned it down a little bit but it's not the end of the world - he was happy.

It was still rude, regardless of how he excited he was. I've met him and he was definitely the least friendly of the final 5.

It was Danyl infact.

M X 30-11-2009 08:37 PM

I'm sorry but I think it was so rude of him, not to even shake his hand. Just shows he's not much of a man.

Do you even watch?
He was a twat because he was thoughtless about Lloyds feelings. Stacey, Joe and Danyl were happy to stay but they didnt jump and down etc, it's only decency y'know?

It's a competition people ! Who cares about each others feelings ? lmao, that's bullshit. It's not like he was quite the previous weeks, he has always jumped and shouted so what make it different this time ? Nothing. And I understand him to be honest because being so close to the final 4 and maybe leaving would suck at this point.

Fom 01-12-2009 05:39 PM

To be fair he was so excited at the idea of staying in he wasnt even thinking about what he was doing... give him a break. That was probably a completely natural response.

setanta 01-12-2009 05:45 PM

He acted like an inconsiderate plank. What a douche.

Jack_ 01-12-2009 05:52 PM

Him being excited isn't the problem, it's the fact that he completely ****ed off the stage without even bothering to commiserate Lloyd and give him a hug etc.

Completely out of order, he could've at least given him a hug.

Stephanie 01-12-2009 06:11 PM

he gave him and hug and all that when they all went back on

Marc 01-12-2009 07:07 PM

he was just relieved. It was obvious Lloyd was going anyway

teabag. 01-12-2009 09:36 PM

this has been his response every single week..
and because he was in the bottom two last week he was bound to have an even bigger reaction to getting through this week

This This This

GypsyGoth 01-12-2009 09:46 PM

I don't blame Olly, he probably was sure he'd go. And Lloyd and him are friends.

Dr.Gonzo 02-12-2009 09:08 AM

He could've been nicer, sure. He could've withheld his natural reaction for some transparent gesture of camaraderie... but he didn't; he displayed to the nation how much their votes meant to him, and how much he wants to win this thing. I'm sure Lloyd got all the comforting he could stomach afterwards.

Losing isn't nice - never is. Hard luck.

His reaction is meaningful and true though.. Imagine you won the lottery.. would you just sit there? no, youd jump up!
