Just because he played on X Factor doesn't mean he automatically has to prefer their music. :p

Niamh. 18-12-2009 11:45 AM

lol, that's a surprise!! haha

Enid 18-12-2009 11:47 AM

It's the principle.

If you perform at a show it is assumed they have your support.

InOne 18-12-2009 11:48 AM

Well he was in one of the greatest bands of all time, he does have a rep to keep lol

I suppose, but if he genuinely prefers RATM then...

teabag. 18-12-2009 03:28 PM

macca has sense

Lorelei 18-12-2009 04:25 PM

I adored Paul when he was a Beatle (yes, I'm THAT old! LOL), but I didn't think he sang too well on the show. Mind you he's older than me!

GypsyGoth 18-12-2009 05:40 PM

I guess Paul would do anything for money.

Ramsay 18-12-2009 05:42 PM

He goes on the show, and then says he'd prefer Rage to get number 1.

Shaun 18-12-2009 05:48 PM

I think she gets £35k a year child support and she only got a one-off settlement of about £20m. But I'm not sure - but still, he's more than minted, and a lot more of the Beatles' discography sales are going to him than before now.

Jacko screwed him well and truly back in the day.

Beastie 18-12-2009 05:52 PM

The man is a musical legend. End of ;)

setanta 18-12-2009 05:53 PM

Claudia, he's one of the wealthiest men in the UK and it was a real coup for the X Factor to get him on the show, but he's not a pawn of Simon's and the idea of RATM winning probably tickles him pink. There's no motivation behind it except probably for the fact that he's an artist and enjoys the idea of ruffling a few feathers and changing the pattern of things a bit, just like the Beatles did in their heyday. Nothing duller than Cowell monopolising the airwaves each Xmas.

Ramsay 18-12-2009 05:54 PM

I dont get why people are calling him a hypocrite
yeah he was on xfactor so what?
that doesnt mean he prefers joes music
not to say he even likes RATM
maybe he just wants a change like the rest of us

InOne 18-12-2009 05:55 PM

Uh oh Claudia, you've set James off now lol

Well maybe he didn't do it for the money, maybe he wanted to use the show to try and get his music to a younger generation.

But it just seems tacky to appear on the show and then knock it.

But he has not knocked it. He would just prefer if RATM got to number 1.

Sorry I love Paul!

I guess, but RATM is a protest vote against the xfactor.

He didn't knock the show though; just stated his preference for Xmas number 1, that's all. And as an artist he obviously wants to play to the biggest crowd he can, so he would never turn down the opportunity to play on the Xfactor final, particularly when he's in the middle of a tour.

Ok, you guys have convinced me, I'll let Paul away with it this time.

teabag. 18-12-2009 08:42 PM

maybe he just wanted Olly to win...

Lorelei 19-12-2009 08:41 AM

RATM is the sort of thing John Lennon would do - I reckon that's why Paul's supporting it. Mind you all he said was that he thought the battle was funny.
