Prostitution

What do people think of it and the girls that do it?

Captain.Remy 01-01-2010 11:50 AM

There are 2 type of prostitution to me:

-The girls who are getting abused, drug and put on the street to bring money to their boss. They generally come from Eastern European countries. Some people make them believe they will go on tour as dancers and end up as prostitutes. This kind of prostitution is not acceptable and should be severely punished.

-The other one is about girls who need money like students, single mums or other kind of girls and have no choice but to do that to have a better life. I think these girls are really brave but it generally fucks them up even if they agree to do it. I can't see a problem with it to be honest.

So yeah, 2 situations, 2 feelings. This is an endless debate really.

WOMBAI 01-01-2010 11:53 AM

It depends. If the girl is totally in control and doing it completely out of choice - that is up to her - I guess it could be viewed as a job like any other - they are providing a service, after all. It always amazes me though at the complete double standards of men in particular - who on one hand call them *****s etc, but if it wasn't for men - they wouldn't exist. It takes two - if the woman is a ***** - then so are the men. At least she isn't the one mug enough to pay for it!

Enforced prostitution is, of course, another thing altogether. Pimps are complete sleaze bags and should be the ones that receive serious punishment, not the prostitutes.

Stacey. 01-01-2010 12:01 PM

well, you get payed for it, but you must be really desparate for a job :joker:
because going round with loadsa different men,,they could be carrying STIs or diseases or anything. :yuk:

Jords 01-01-2010 12:13 PM

If a girl is doing prostitution in order to earn money because she is unable to find a job and needs the cash to actually be able to afford to live, I can see why she may feel the need to do it, although i really advise her not to because her health is in danger. And if she is being forced into is that is plain sickening and wrong.

If a girl is doing it because she is too lazy to find a proper job, wants the sex or any other bizzare reason, then it is her entire fault for catching any STI's or what have you and I don't feel sorry for her.

Tom4784 01-01-2010 12:20 PM

Helen Mirren's got a good view on it, make it legal and then you can it safe and prevent people being forced into it and such. You make it legal, you make it controllable.

As for people who go into it off their own accord, I don't judge them. We all do what we can to make ends meet.

xDramatick 01-01-2010 12:28 PM

I don't see why it's illegal [apart from it being unsafe obvs].

Enid 01-01-2010 12:31 PM

To say we don't judge someone that sells their body for sex is a bit of a bold statement. :P

Most hookers have drug problems and indulge in other criminal activity. If I'm approached by a hooker, I'm getting the feck away.

Besides that though, as long as it's behind closed doors, do whatever you like.

InOne 01-01-2010 12:33 PM

I saw in a doc that alot of them are usually sexually abused as kids. They say sexual abuse is boot camp for Prostitution.

It's sad really. Most won't have a second chance at redeeming themselves and fall further and further into a pit. It's not their fault.

Indeed, I watched something about a brothel, and guys think it's like pretty woman, they call them the Save-A-Ho guys lol They basically laugh in their face. It's pretty harsh though, some guys pay like $1000's for them just to pretend to be their gf, and in the morning they all were just still and laughing about what they did to who. Some guys get emotionally attached, sad really.

Enid 01-01-2010 12:42 PM

Oh I don't feel sorry for the "Johns" at all. Most of them are married and don't give a toss about these girls. If they really cared for their well-being, they'd help them escape from prostitution instead of indulging.

InOne 01-01-2010 12:44 PM

Oh yeah, all Married WASP Males

Enid 01-01-2010 12:45 PM

On the other hand though, these brothels are quite upmarket, lol. Have you watched "The Bunny Ranch". It doesn't quite glamourise prostitution, but it definitely makes it look enjoyable, hahah.

InOne 01-01-2010 12:48 PM

Yeah watched that lol

Yeah, does look quite glam, I think it's bad with shows like that though cos girls think it's always gonna be like that, there is like always at least 30 girls on the waiting list for places like that

Chels 01-01-2010 01:21 PM

er, idk really.
i find them scary :L

Same tbh.

InOne 01-01-2010 01:30 PM

I know not many people see them as fallen angels or anything, but some are like Uni dropouts and middle class kids wanting to rebel. Fair enough they have a drug habit, but I remember one saying a guy asked her to stamp on a kitten while he jacked off to it, and one said to pretend he's his 12 year old daughter. That has gotta be the low of the low and those are the ones I would have no time for,

Tom 01-01-2010 01:32 PM

Theres a demand for it and people are willing to do it. Wheres the problem? They put themselves there, they don't have to.

Yeah false promises that they are coming over here to start a new life and then the next thing they know they are in some dodgy prostitution ring.

What a disgusting bitch, I have no time over people who get kick outs over things like that. Unless, she was forced to, then somebody ought to stamp on the man jacking off's head.

The big places for it are London and that I think. But I reckon alot end up in Amersterdam too, we are under the illusion that they are treated well there but bet they're not.

I'm against it when people are forced but my initial post was just in general

Lewis. 01-01-2010 02:00 PM

I think that many people don't realise why people turn to prostitution. I think that prostitution should be legalised really, so that the government can keep a track on it. If they legalised prostitution in proper prostitution houses.. where the men go and they get a nice room with the woman and the woman has an alarm button, then I don't see what is wrong with it. Sex sells, and many people have no other option but to turn to prostitution... from stories from someone I know, she said that she needed to do it for the cash, otherwise she would have lost her children and house. It's hefty money that prostitution generates.. and if the government legalised it, they could make sure it was all done properly and people wouldn't need to do it on the streets in a violent atmosphere.

Yeah like, the ones who aren't forced would have usually had a choice at one point, before going past the point of no return

zotler. 01-01-2010 02:26 PM

I didn't really have an opinion on Prostitution until I watched the Nicholas Cage film, "Leaving Las Vegas", and after I watched that I personally couldn't see why any stable person would want to be a prostitute, and I feel very sorry for anyone who is forced into it, or can't find any other way to get needed money :|

Spike 01-01-2010 02:32 PM

I don't see a problem with prositituion, as long as the girls aren't being forced into it
Its a service which there is demand for and it happens. I think it should be legalised so it can be governed to keep the girls more safe than they are now.
I really can't see a good argument for it not to be legalised

But they made the decision in the first place so its their own fault. There are other ways to get money

Indeed indeed, takes a certain type of mentality I guess, they must be pretty emotionally detached from everything
