Good Christian or religious freak?

What he said about his daugther tonight was just a bit too freaky.

King Gizzard 07-01-2010 02:12 AM

He is a bad and false representation of a christian. Not all christians are like that

MissKittyFantastico 07-01-2010 02:14 AM

He's either a religious freak, or the cocaine abuse has completely addled his brain cells.

He wasn't like that at all on IAC US, don't know what's going on with him! :/

Big_Kahuna 07-01-2010 02:15 AM

he looks like a spastic from some angles, maybe that is it

ElProximo 07-01-2010 03:06 AM

Well first lets be clear:
- There are no 'good Christians'. There is only a good Christ.

Church is a school for sinners and not a sanctuary for saints.
Christians are not perfect - they are just forgiven.

When I say 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,I'm just a simple sinner who received God's good grace, somehow!

Baldwin is a bit nutty and has all sorts of flaws and issues and many he (actually God) is still working on,
but,
as near as I can tell he is aware of this and he knows full well he is a work in progress,
and,
if not for his Christianity I suppose you would REALLY see some horrific madness in this guy.
If he was still alive.
He seems to me the type who would, otherwise, have become 'dead celebrity #234234' after some 'mysterious death' in a hotel room on Sunset Blvd.

I do understand what the OP is getting at and we have also seen bogus 'converts' before (or you really wonder if its some act or to stay away from jail),
but,
in this case - there is no 'good Christians' and I do believe Baldwin does know this and would even admit he screws up, he has issues, he is far from perfected yet.
I hope.

Yeah.. he is a bit nutty. In the past reality shows I wanted to dislike him and be 'suspicious' but he has won me over before. Meaning - I think he is 'sincere' at least.

You support what he says? That he would rather his daughter get shot dead than renounce Jesus?

That's not a good way to think and I have no idea how you could respect that.

So as long as you say you believe in Jesus in your eyes you can pretty much get away with saying or doing anything?

No, because i Dont believe in Jesus meself. :spin:
but what he says has a lot of meaning behind it, And he has changed for the better

So you don't think he should be able to get away with whatever he wants? That contradicts what you just said.

Yeah, now instead of shoving coke up his nose he would let his daughter get shot in the chest. What a transformation.

What meaning is behind what he says, exactly? None if you ask me. There's no 'meaning' behind any circumstance which involves you willingly letting your daughter get shot.

RealityTVisGreat 07-01-2010 11:06 AM

So he said, 'Killing in the name of.....'!!!

Look.
He is making a rational and consistent statement. Which is why you don't understand it and why it makes you feel angry (a common reaction when frustrated),
and,
let me try and 'step you through it':

He believes that Christ will not only protect his daughter in this life (and bring joy, peace, etc),
but,
will also give her eternal peace and happiness long after she is passed in this life.
Ok.

So, consistent with his premise he is showing how it would be WORSE if his daughter was to:
Renounce eternal security and joy AND eternal separation from him.
That is worse.

So, he is deliberately giving the example of something he would HATE and wish never happens,
and,

...oh forget it. I have no doubt you are totally confused already.

Just know its consistent and is saying he is totally against his daughter being murdered.
Years from now you might get this.

um, no, not contradicting. i dont believe in it all and Jesus, but if he does, then thats cool :)
and, whatever he believes it up to him,, :) i really like him, And he takes Jesus and all that, that far, then its ok.

Actually I know exactly where he is coming from and I never needed it explained to me. I just don't believe it, find it sick, and find it to be a load of bollocks, sugar.

Believe it or not some people do understand all of this, they just think it's a fabricated crock of ****.

Yeah, I said this earlier too, I'm willing to bet if he actually was in that situation he would not sacrifice his daughters life rather then let her tell a little white lie, it's very easy to preach about a situation that will never, ever happen!!

Stu 07-01-2010 12:16 PM

True. I'm sure when push comes to shove he would renounce Christ to save his paypacket, let alone his daughter!

you are just hopeless.
Your vicious hate-spewing bigotry really shines through on these.
You might start praying he gets evicted otherwise I worry you will have a nervous breakdown by week 5 lol

Stu 07-01-2010 12:24 PM

Personally I believe The Bible to be hate spewing bigotry. I am far from hopeless. Just because I don't believe what you believe?

Typical religionist.

You are a dummy for not being able to comprehend how the statements he makes are consistent with what HE believes,
and,
that IS what matters.

You are so dim-witted that you think it changes because 'you don't believe he is correct' lol

But hey, keep projecting hypocrite. If that is the crutch you need then I think Baldwin can take it.

Actually I already said numerous times his statement is consistent with what he believes. Try reading. It's just that I don't believe it.

Next!
