This series is so dull..

That they have to sex-up the hl's with extra production interference. There has never been music, or mood music, to spice up the show. What next, canned laughter?

Marc 22-01-2010 09:13 PM

Its a good idea. I doubt its because its dull. I think the majority of this forum would agree that they are enjoying this CBB. But obviously your welcome to your opinion.

Stu 22-01-2010 09:13 PM

It's not spicing anything up. Just a nice touch. The show would still be great with the usual ubiquitous production values.

This series rocks.

Jords 22-01-2010 09:14 PM

I love this series!

Nemo123 22-01-2010 09:16 PM

No BB series before ever relied on this kind of fluff.

Who said they were relying on it? I doubt anybody tuned in last night just to hear Size Of A Cow.

It's not, it's sexin it up because the raw aterial they have to work with is so dull.

LaLaLand 22-01-2010 09:19 PM

How you can call this series dull is beyond me to be quite honest.

Nothing but positivity towards this series from me, from Day 1 - fun, watchable and at times gripping stuff.

BB shouldn'tmesswith the production values.

It's polishing a turd, which is what this series is.

How are they sexing it up? You get a song played over the action and maybe a 40 second montage every night in a one hour show. It's hardly because of lack of material.

Sigh.

You just don't get it.

It shouldn't need any of this rubbish if the raw footage was any good.

Stu 22-01-2010 09:23 PM

Still waiting on how it's sexing or covering anything up ...

... I don't get it? Do explain, you old spoon, you. 40 seconds maximum of montages we get a night. In a one hour show. It's hardly a question of lacking material. It's just that you don't like the material.

It's polishing a turd, man,

the more production values that are required by a reality shw, the weaker the raw fotage. That they have to sex it up is an indictment of how poor this yer has been.

Again, 40 seconds of montage and sexing up in a one hour show. Your argument makes absoloutely no sense on any level. If you don't like the raw material then that's cool, but there is certainly no lack of it.

Utter fact.

Well, half the time you saw Mash on telly it had canned laughter, maybe you liked that, I didn't.

Nemo123 22-01-2010 09:32 PM

I can't abide production interference in what is supposed to be reality TV.

Yeah but Big Brother is not M*A*S*H. Nor does it have canned laughter. Or any production intereference anywhere near that level. Again, for like the fourth time, 40 seconds of sexing up. 60 minuets show.

Besides, laughter tracks don't always ruin shows.

Only Fools had a live audience. The shows were a combination of live stage performances, and then the entire played before a live audience whose laughter was recorded.

Stu 22-01-2010 09:40 PM

Ah yes. Getting mixed up.

Feel free to respond to the actual content of my post, though.

IheartBB 22-01-2010 09:40 PM

Don't like? Don't watch. Simple. I for one have loved this series more than most regular BB's

I watch, and I'm a critic.

How Big Brother is attempting to sex up the show and paper over the lack of raw material by throwing in montage, soundtracked footage for forty of the one thousand two hundred seconds or so of the show.

Jackie 22-01-2010 09:50 PM

I'm enjoying it.

President 22-01-2010 09:51 PM

Best series in a while. I haven't laughed so many times during a BB series in years. Loving it.

Well, you said it beautifully yourself, "How Big Brother is attempting to sex up the show and paper over the lack of raw material"

the fact is it did, and it's a departure from anything which went before.

I don't object to editing for the sake of time, and there has always been editing.

I do object to music being added to the raw footage of the house. Raw footage is raw footage. It's a signal that the raw footage is dul.

This series has been so dull and lacking in events and hl's, it has needed gravy to make it taste alright, or edible.

Again, even though it's for a meaningless 40 seconds of the show? And that means they have a lack of footage?

I don't know, was it only 40 seconds.

They've never had to tart things up before, and they've produced better hl programmes.

You know when you have a rum meal, or you gotta eat your shoe, like Chalie Chaplin, you need lots of salt and pepper.

This series is like an old shoe.

Nemo123 22-01-2010 10:25 PM

I think we're going to see more of this tarting-up/canned laughter type of **** when Sky take over.

An awful lot of the posters on here haven't got a lot between their ears, and they're going to love it.
