Haiti - Where was God?

Was this a 'test' and all part of the 'plan'? Or does God just like laughing at the misery of humans...

Or is there nothing that watches over the planet...

karezza 23-01-2010 09:17 AM

Human depravity, perversion, materialism & selfishness causes natural disasters. Don't blame God for everything.

Ninastar 23-01-2010 09:28 AM

In my bed...

ILoveTRW 23-01-2010 09:36 AM

god doesnt exist

karezza 23-01-2010 09:42 AM

The universe is a thought-form projected from the mind of God.

Firewire 23-01-2010 09:54 AM

God isn't real.

Spike 23-01-2010 10:45 AM

The same place he has always been, in the imagination of stupid people who believe in him.

Crimson Dynamo 23-01-2010 12:40 PM

What would you like God to be, a cosmic puppet master?

We live with free will in a cause and effect universe.

Much good will come out of this earthquake in the end that may lead to many times more people having good and happy lives than the ones who died.

if you want to ask God about it then get down on your knees and pray.

that's a bit of a ridiculous generalisation.

and God was at the health spa that day sry xo.

Jayson 23-01-2010 12:46 PM

Theist's say that it was the devil's doing a lot of the time. Others say that it was God punishing sinners, a bit like Noah's Arc.

I personally believe that God is a load of bollocks.

It was simple plate tectonics. God is love.

One thing you can be sure of is that the religious will dream up an explanation probably based on riddles and abiguities as usual......

But, if you believe that God created the world, then that means he created natural disasters.

If he didn't want natural disasters to occur, he wouldn't have made them possible, would he?

I'm sure materialism and selfishness caused plates deep under the earth to slip

Ah now Joe, you should know by now that these religionists always somehow have an answer for everything. It's the beauty of having an inconsistent scripture you can take bits from that's longer than all the Harry Potter books put together.

Exactly. Thus meaning that either God killed millions of people just for the **** of it, or that it was just nature doing it's thing and God doesn't exist.

No such word as early. Anyway, do you think this was God's work? If not why did he allow it?

if you cannot be sure that what happened did not happen for a very good reason then there is no debate.

Your comparison of the Bible to Harry Potter books is highly offensive to Christians.

Or is it that you find it easier to insult Christians over Muslims?

Respect should be shown for ALL religions.

How has respect for religion turned into respect for others?

spitfire 24-01-2010 12:04 AM

Sanctimonious claptrap! Why would a true compassionate 'God' stand by and watch innocents die because of the stupidity of others, if indeed he/she had the power to prevent it? Not much of a God in my opinion! Sounds more like a dictator to me - do things my way - or others will pay the price!

Captain.Remy 24-01-2010 10:06 AM

God was too busy watching Celebrity Big Brother.

Your idea of what God is belongs to a Larson cartoon.

As i have said, if you do not know that there was a very good reason for it to happen then leave the debate.
