Stu 27-01-2010 06:01 PM

I think Simon Amstell nailed it on that episode of Buzzcocks.

Something to the effect of 'Look at me! I'm Avril Lavigne and I'm real and angry unlike all those fake popstars! Oh wait ... look! I'm Avril Lavigne! Here's a song about girlfriends! Look at my tits!'.

Not really. I'm not a huge Avril fan but she's not acting angry or whatever, and she never really has.

Nicky. 27-01-2010 06:30 PM

The MSN sound in the middle sure makes it original! haha Xx

Nicky. 27-01-2010 06:32 PM

Oh, there's 2! How awesome of her! xD

Nahh, I love the song <3 :)

MissKittyFantastico 27-01-2010 06:33 PM

That girl has done such a 180 on her image it's crazy.

Oh come on. She's done a complete 180 to flog more records to the same kind of twelve year old girls who think wearing black armbands and carrrying a Robert Paterson sketch pad makes you deep and edgy.

I'm not saying she was never pop, mind you. Even the first album was still Punk Lite filtered through pop sensibilities.

Is this for the new Alice in Wonderland movie? If so it's been killed already. Awful song.

And yes, the song can lick the **** from my boots.

It would take away the whole trippy effect that i'm hoping the movie will have. The Disney version got it spot on.

Twilight 27-01-2010 06:56 PM

UMG this movie soundtrack is gonna be epic

Christ. I didn't realise the movie was getting a fag rock compilation to go along with it. I hope it's for promotional purposes and none of it makes it to the actual cut of the movie? It would completely ruin the experience. You can tell a lot of it is to appeal to the ~whacky scene kids who are going to show up on the movies opening day.

Nononononononno. WHAT THE ****.

The more I see and hear of this movie, the less interested I am. Alice is meant to be a surreal, beautiful yet disturbing fairytale. I watched the trailer for the third time the other night and noticed how much CGI and special effects were used. I dunno, I just think all this Hollywood crap is ruining the magic.

InOne 27-01-2010 07:06 PM

So Tim Burton murdered Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and now doing the same with Alice In Wonderland all with Depp by his side. Great.

Chances are it won't. Films like these always release two soundtracks, one will consist of the instrumentals and music from the actual film itself and the other will be an 'inpsired by....' album which this will be. Thee worst that'll come from it is that a few of these songs will make it on to the end credits.

Twilight 27-01-2010 07:07 PM

Oh i love this site and its music snobs

I wasn't aware that 3OH!3 not being suitable for inclusion anywhere in or around the Alice In Wonderland universe was akin to being a music snob.

It's about producing a fitting soundtrack.

Stop being so defensive all the time.

You should read 'Catcher in the Rye' or 'The Perks of being a Wallflower' they're all about teen angst. I know how hard it is for teens these days, all drama and misery. ;)

Yeah, true. Still, shame to see what should be such good intellectual property get stapled to a mass market cash in of a soundtrack that bears it's name. Hollywood I guess.

I'm surprised Linkin Park aren't on the list. They will play prostitute to anything in order to get another generic single out.

Sort of gone off the whole Depp Burton team lately. Been hit and miss the last few years.

Check out Kerli, I think she'll fit perfectly tbh.
Her music's quite quirky.

I agree. Nothing like the old days. Just quit while your ahead.

The horse may not be dead, but I'm tired of watching it get flogged.

If Tim were to end up at the helm of a movie about The Royal Family, Helena Bonham Carter would probably end up as Diana somehow. Depp of course being the perfect candidate to bring out the dark and sinister side of the Queen.

Indeed, I probably prefer Depp in the films without Burton directing. From Hell, Fear and Loathing, Blow.

When does this film come out anyways? Anyone know?
