This forum would be nothing without mods!
 

Banning is important. Sometimes it is not fair but members do need some form of realisation that being offensive wont be tolerated!
I know members have been banned unfairly a few times but mods are human and they make mistakes sometimes.
Anyway.. Go mods *fist pumps*

they are good when they don't give out infractions for **** reasons.

Ban trolls and people who constantly insult without being provoked, yes, by all means.

But for the love of God, I wish they'd stop banning people who (a) have a different opinion or (b) have a different sense of humour.

I'm with Jack on this one. Active flaming is bad, but active flaming of stupid people and trolls should be encouraged. If they leave, this place becomes better for everybody.

oh Jack_, if this is a continuation of the annoyance with the removal of Josef Fritzl threads - please move on. Even as a joke, which I can tolerate (though some cannot, and that's their prerogative), it's very old now.

The 2 points you stated.. Difference in opinion and different sence of humour.
If your opinion or sence of humour could be considered insulting or hurtful to someone then infractions do get given.

I shouldn't have to move on. It's a forum and the idea is that we post what we want to post, and discuss what we want to discuss.

Other than the mods in question not finding that sort of humour funny, there's no reason as to why they should be removed.

It's like banning discussion of Jedward, because the mods don't like them. What would be the point?

It wasn't just the moderators, if I recall correctly, that found it offensive though, was it?

Whilst I don't really give a **** about offensive humour - since I love Mock the Week, Frankie Boyle, etc, it does have a time and a place (you wouldn't dare see it on TV pre-watershed) and unfortunately there're sensitive minds on this site.

Even so...enough Fritzl for now. Can't we all move on...

If it was about something else than Josef Fritlz, I would have got your point. I love nasty jokes, I do, but I know it can hurt or offend people sometimes. We don't really know the other members and what they're like in real life so you don't know if it could hurt them or not. Like I just told Patrick in a PM, you can voice your opinion, and that's very important, but there is a difference between saying what you think and being nasty or hurtful.

Well if it wasn't just the mods, then a thread would be perfect, would it not? A whole thread just for offensive humour. If you don't like it, avoid it. There have been Sickipedia threads posted on here before and none of them have been removed.

I understand that, but again, a thread would solve all those problems.

We had a thread before and told people it was sick humour there was no complaints.........as far as i know....

As has been said before, there are far worse things posted on this site, that could be deemed 'offensive', especially to the young, quite frankly.

An adult section makes an insane amount of sense to an insane degree. It's insane.

there was a thread for sick jokes before wasn't there? but people complained about the stuff in it, even though there was a warning.

Adult section would be an epic win.

I think i made one before and just spammed it with jokes of fritzl MJ and Jade Goody.......and some really bad ones, nothing was ever said though...ill see if i can find it...

I know Remy posted one a while back, I'll bump that one if I can find it. There were plenty of Sickipedia jokes in that thread, and it wasn't removed.

As for an adult section, I'm all for it - as long as there aren't any age restrictions - just people wishing to view 'adult' material.

Just bumped and old one...i cant remember the name of the one i made.....oddly it wasnt called sick jokes like i thought....
