Did you find the 'Tsunami' a bit of an anticlimax?
Admit it, we were all watching Sky News waiting to see a moment in history LIVE. What a let down when the sea levels risen by 3 feet.
|
YEAH!
I was like wow, it could be as bad as the USA changing their flags from 50 stars to 49! But all we got was 3 feet of *****ing water! FAIL! |
no
yes damn |
It is kind of a good thing because peoples lives weren't destroyed. I was relieved, not disappointed.
|
I liked looking at the live steaming of hawaii, I'd like to go there one day.

Your disappointed there wasn't mass destruction and high death tolls?
|
I was looking forward to the death as well
|
I have not had time to watch it on the news or anything yet! ooops..
|
Yes.
If people had known from the start that nothing major was going to happen, no one would have watched. People were only watching because they thought that the waves were going to be huge. There's no point in trying to deny it really. As much as it's a relief, that's the reason everyone was watching. |

I personally couldn't be happier nothing happened, we are privileged to live in a country where stuff like this doesn't happen. But waking up one day and a wave taking away all your family and everything you live for... is not something someone else should watch and then get disappointed if it doesn't happen. |
Not at all, relieved that no damage was caused and no lives lost. I was watching on CNN and it was obvious that the presenters were annoyed that nothing big happened :/ It was just interesting to learn the whole science to it, like the tell-signs.
|
Frankly - too many on here open their mouths before putting their brains into gear - and I am being generous there!

To compare, it's like 9/11. I'm not happy it happened, but I'm disappointed that I was too young to remember where I was at the time. Do you see what I mean? |
Yes
i was happy it wasn't bad, but i kinda wanted to see something a bit bigger than 3 feet. |

Honolulu wouldn't have got the brunt of it because of where its positioned and the way the wave was travelling

i didnt even watch it i caught a bit of the live waiting for it to happen while channel hopping it just personally found it a bit wrong that they were all sat with cameras trained waiting for something potenially bad to happen yes it wasnt as big as predicted but noone could have known this had it been huge how would you have felt i agree with fom this is real life hundreds of thousands of people were very close to losing everything plus hundreds more could have lost lives the way people are going on is similar to had they gone to cinema and the film was a let down i cant believe people were actually getting excited about watching
i'm very glad none of those on here were in affected area although should that be case there would be some very different attitudes on here am also glad it was as bad as predicted its bad enough the devestation caused by the quake that started all the tsunami warnings let alone other devestation |

The earthquake caused a tidal wave coming from South America and a 3m wave was projected to hit Hawaii at 9.20pm last night. Sky News were running live cameras for quite a while whilst various cameras were set up online. Loads of 'hype' on CNN News too. A lot of people were watching it to see the wave when it came in. The sea level rose 3 feet. |
slightly harsh thread =P
