Big Brother Finland 2010
Haven't been here for a while. Had all kinds of stuff going on.
Anyhow, I've got news, that still might be of some interest for some of you here regarding BBF6: We have a completely new setup in the host-department. Or hostess, as it is. And here they are: http://img.sub.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/ohjel...her/932632.jpg On the left the new hostess of Extra, Elina Viitanen. She's mostly known for her early show in The Voice. A music channel. On the right the new hostess of the weekly talk show/elimination show, Susanna Laine. Susanna is most notable for hosting a season of Talent Finland and Treffit pimeässä (Date in the dark)...not sure if this is international or not. The other news for now is, that the house will move to a new location. Probably inside the same city...but still, it's going to be a whole new house. Edit: the house will move to another city, not that far from the former location though. Possibly about 20 kilometers. |
The house
Some pictures of the new house. There's really no yard to speak of, and the house generally speaking looks also smaller than before. I only found 1 pic from the DR. It only gives an idea of the design. The pic is from a session with Maria.
The living room and kitchen: http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983088.jpg http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983090.jpg http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983089.jpg http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983086.jpg http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983085.jpg http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983084.jpg Bedroom: http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983093.jpg http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983092.jpg http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983091.jpg Bathroom: http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983081.jpg http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983080.jpg http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983079.jpg Patio/yard and sauna: http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983073.jpg http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983071.jpg http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983070.jpg http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983074.jpg http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983077.jpg http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983075.jpg http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983076.jpg Diary room: http://www.bigbrother.fi/mn_kuvat/su..._01/983420.jpg |
Wow, the house looks great.

Btw...that blonde, Maria...the DR-session she had (the one, that the snapshot is from), she basically just slammed the other HM-wannabe's. She was hoping a bit better. When BB asked her, what she meant about better her answer was. "I don't know...someone more like me." Her motto is "Get rich or die trying". She also has a blog, that she calls Glam With M - The Glamorous Life of Maria. I'll give the URL, the blog is all in Finnish though. I guess in this case Google translate would give a good enough translation, if anyone is really that interested. ;P http://glamwithm.blogspot.com/ |
Pictures of rest of the house will follow...apparently they've not revealed all of it yet. And apparently the rest of the house will be revealed on Sunday.

yum^^ I liked Vappu. & now shes gone. =/ I like the house much better this year. Last year was the first time for me watching it and I didnt really like the look of the house, inside or out. To me it looked like (not to sound rude) but very um...It looked like it was their first one. But going by them pics. It looks very nice this year Is even more excited now to watch it. thank you =) |
No problemo. I also think the casting this year is kind of better from the last few years. Still waiting for the big surprise they have for us on Sunday.
For now, the opening sequence for this year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wUQY7OZX80 A couple of seconds extra in and out. And for some reason only worked as a link. |
There's a public vote going on of who of the candidates will become HMs. The public will vote for the person/persons they want to stay in the house.
Last night the candidates had a hot task, quite literally: walking on hot coals. Not as bad as it sounds though, even though you can really get hurt if you don't follow the intsturctions. Naturally, a few of the candidates were really horrified of the idea of walking on hot coals. Nevertheless, only 2 of them were taken to a check-up after the walk in the ambulance they had in the task-area. There are some interesting rumours going on...some fans are speculating about a second house. There are a couple of pictures of a possible extra room. Some are speculating, that in addition to the 2 persons leaving the house, 4-6 of them would be moved to this extra room. http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983096.jpg http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...alo/983095.jpg As said, these are just speculations at this point. Except for the extra space, which will be revealed on Sunday as I told before. |
That house looks quite good actually - yard is good too for chilling. I assume like last series they have some kind of task arena too?

Also, the above 2 pictures are now official. Only one room though. Sometime next week 5 new HM-wannabes will enter that room and there will be a public vote who of those 5 will enter the house. They didn't say, how many will be added to the current 11 HMs. We'll just have to wait and see. And of course the current HMs are still unaware of this secret room. Jani and Maria were the bottom 2 in this week's votes, therefore they didn't earn the right to be HMs and had to leave the house. Oh, and BTW...to comment some more on the house. The style or type they were looking for, was loft. I think they did a fairly good job. |
Weekly tasks and budgets are back after last year's abscence. This week's task is to build a vehicle from recycled parts. Tomorrow they will race with those vehicles. The HMs have been split to 3 teams. One member of the winning team will be selected the first HoH. Also, they had to make costumes and names for their teams. They wagered 69% of their weekly budget.
The 5 new HM-potentials are actually HMs from previous seasons. http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...ars/987836.jpg Henna, 21 (2008 - intruder (entered on day 73), evicted on her 2nd week in the house) http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...ars/987844.jpg Niko S., 23 (2008 - ejected for violent behaviour) http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...ars/987839.jpg Marianna, 25 (2008 - possibly ejected by psychologist's admission but might've also walked...the true reason will never see the light of day) http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...ars/987842.jpg Niko N., 27 (2007 - intruder (entered on day 27), finished 3rd) http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...ars/987848.jpg Nino, 31 (2009 - ejected for rule violation) |
The house is ******able.

There have been and are HMs in previous seasons and current who use estonian, russian, kurdish and afghan as their first language. And of course swedish. Quote:
Also, Niko S. and Nino have had some confilcts with each others outside the house. And then back to updates: The HMs passed the weekly task. Red team won the race, and being the fastest Petri also won the HoH title. The ex-HMs got to watch the current ones on the TV in the secret room tonight. Tomorrow there's a party, that will see these 5 join the current HMs. Just for the evening though, before returning to the secret room. |
Nino and Niko N. were voted to stay as HMs. The vote was really just a competition between the guys...the two girls never had the slightest chance.
|
The task this week: Deserted Island. Basically the HMs were shipwrecked and were going to stay outside for the duration of the task. They were split in 2 teams. The 2 teams competed against each others in several competitions during the task. The task also had a subtask, which was to keep a fire burning for the duration of the weekly task. 24/7. There's also a minor twist in the task, but more of that a bit later.
Today the shipwrecked HMs had the HoH challenge. This time it was pretty much up to luck, who won the title. There were 13 boxes, 1 for each. The contents of each box was for the opener only. No trading or giving away. In one of the boxes there was a bottle with a message. Whoever opened that box would be the new HoH. That person was Satu, so she's the HoH. The other items were: cans of peasoup, a pair of trousers, coffee, a stuffed bird, a watermelon, can of beans and pineapple, chocolate, a box of beer and cigarettes, a bottle of springwater, popcorn, firewood and a bottle of soda. Now to the twist of the weekly task: it's not over quite yet. Not for all of the HMs anyway. They had a challenge to determine who would be saved from the island and who would not. The challenge was to hang on a "ship" that didn't have room for everyone. Those who could hang for a minute, would be saved. All of the guys did, none of the girls didn't. Marika was excluded in grounds of a broken hand. She got a free ride off the island. Which of course was/is just the task-area full of sand. For the rest of the girls the task still continues for another night, while the guys and Marika are having a party in the house. |
Habib, Mari, Marika and Mia are up for eviction. No real surprises here.
Also, 4 intruders will enter the house on Sunday. |
Mari was evicted. Percentages:
Marika +5,49 % Habib +1,76 % Mia -1,11 % Mari -38,6 % The intruders: http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...aat/991614.jpg Ellinoora, 19 http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...aat/991619.jpg Esa-Tapio, 27 http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...aat/994926.jpg Vilhelmiina, 23 http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...aat/991625.jpg Riikka, 23 Esa-Tapio and Riikka are engaged, but have to keep this a secret from the other HMs. Both of them introduced themselves as being single to the other HMs. http://img.mtv3.fi/mn_kuvat/sub/big_...aat/991622.jpg |
The weekly task this week was "MS Big Brother". Last week's castaways were saved onto MS Big Brother. They were split to 3 different classes. Class A had all the luxuries the captain would have. They got to order their food from restaurants. Class B had all the necessities the HMs usually have. Class C only had the food Big Brother delivered them. All 3 classes did have the shower in their use, but in the order of A first C last. The task included nightly watch outside in pairs. They had a tiller and helm, and 2 hands had to be on the helm until BB announced otherwiset. Also, no sleeping obviously. The HMs wagered 99% of their weekly budget. They failed the task, which means they have 2 euros 56 cents to use for shopping for the week. This was the second consecutive week they failed their task with 99%.
To make things even more miserable for the HMs, Big Brother removed all basic food they normally have. Only giving them rice, vegetables and canned goods. They only have water to drink. Today there was a HoH contest, but was fake. This was also told to the HMs. First BB told, who won the contest. And then added, that due to the HMs not taking the tasks seriously, continuously braking the rules and still not knowing how to wear their mics the result of the contest was annulled. For the time being there won't be a HoH. Also, for the time being they won't have hot water. Oh...and during the weekly task a new twist in BBF was introduced: a talking object. In this case the object being a birdhouse on the wall close to the sauna. The same idea as in BBUK with the drawer. |
i'd watch this if it had subtitles.
|
Ok...a bit late with my updates. Not much was going on before last weekend.
First things first: double-eviction that saw Habib and Riikka being evicted. Yesterday Ville was ejected for contract violation. On Sunday night the HMs had a party. For the first time this season they had enough to drink...one could say they even had too much to drink. Here's a short recap of the so called juicy bits: Ellinoora was the first to completely loose it...she made out with pretty much all the girls. Satu was the only one she didn't make out with. Ksenia also made out with Paul and Elisabet with Petri. Ville asked Ksenia to take her top off in the sauna, and she did. Paul tried to put the top back on, Ksenia refused. Yeah...Ksenia was the second to totally loose it. Elisabet was the next, but she pretty much always goes crazy under the infulence of alcohol. The party didn't last for long. Less than 3 hours into the party Ellinoora threw up into the hotthub outside. She was taken to the DR (yes, taken as she couldn't walk herself). BB asked if she was OK, she answered yes. BB asked, if she could stand up. She said she was just gonna lay down for a bit...she did. And threw up on the DR carpet. Hannu and Niko had to go in and carry her out onto a sofa. About an hour later Ksenia threw up in bed. And the guys carried her on another sofa. Not long after this Elisabet threw up in bed. And so the third sofa was occupied. The total of 6 HMs passed out and 7 threw up. Out of 12. |
Paul walked.
Ellinoora and Marika are up for eviction. It was nice to see you, Ellinoora...but bye-bye. Yeah...Elli doesn't stand the slightest chance against Marika. This concludes my update for the night. |
Id like to try and watch a Big brother from abroad as im from England and luckily spent time in Australia and downloaded a few of their seasons now, but i would be intrested in seeing the Finland big brother, do they speak in English in the show or subtitles ?
If anyone knows where to download be appreciated. Gaz |
I'm still looking for a way to share the daily shows for anyone interested. Can't promise anything though. I'll do the best I can at the moment.
Anyhow...as expected, Ellinoora was evicted. This week all the HMs are up for eviction by default. Seems like our BB is not entirely without a sense of humour. Last night the HMs had a party. Not long after the party started the HMs received message from BB: they would have a companion on the patio they can't loose for the whole night. Or there would be a penalty. The companion: a bucket for each HM with the HM's names on them. |
This looks soo good! :( Jealous
|
The house is amazing, i LOVE the bathroom and the house layout.. the bedrooms a little cramped tho..

Anyhow...Satu was evicted. Elisabet seems like she's ready to walk right now. |
Sorry for the delay. Again...I just got back from a trip to Galway. I fell in love with western Ireland, and sure as hell going back for a couple of weeks next summer. :cheer2:
For now back to the subject: apparently Ksenia was evicted and Hannu ejected last week. |
Tonight Inka got the boot. Nothing surprising there.
Next Sunday a HM swap will take place. Again. The options being India, Greece, Portugal and Slovenia. We can pretty much drop India and Slovenia them having celebrity editions. My guess from the remaining 2 would be Greece. Main reason being bad economy. Both Africa and Pinoy were chosen for that same reason. Or that reason being one of the factors. Though, in the previous 2 countries the main reason for picking them for the swaps was that in both countries the living conditions between rich and poor is vast. Anyways...we'll be wiser about which country the swap will take place with in a week or so. Oh...and Marika won a trip to Thailand, worth 3000 euros. Obviously she can't collect before she's out of the house. |
Interesting. Today the HMs here were waken up with a song sung by Sandra Auer. She's one of the HMs in Slovenia. So I guess I was wrong about Slovenia not being an option in grounds of being a celebrity edition.
At least here the week these swaps have taken place have been full of hints as to where. Or as with Munya, they even hinted the name of the HM coming to stay in the BB Finland house. Though it's still possible, that there won't be a swap. This could just be a hoax between the two productions. In BB Slovenia the theme for this week is lies...the presenter told the viewers that there will be a swap to Finland. And that 2 new HMs will enter. And that one of these two is a lie. |
More news...or rather just speculations about the swap: it seems, that it's possible it's a three-way swap between Finland, Portugal and Slovenia. I guess one of ours would go to Portugal, one of Slovenia come here and one from Portugal go to Slovenia. Or something like that.
This would actually be kinda cool, if it turns out to be true. But...at this point it's just a rumour. |
The original rumours about the swap between Finland and Slovenia turned out to be true. Sandra has already left the house in Slovenia, Niko will leave tomorrow.
http://www.bigbrother.fi/mn_kuvat/su...ia/1025603.jpg |
I've been watching BB Finland for about a month now, I'm a foreigner that moved into this country about that same time ago.
I think BB Finland is by far the one which treats it's HM's in the best way. Almost never too hard tasks and tons of parties and rewards. I don't speak the language so of course I don't get much of it, just the basic. Now with this swap with Slovenia I could understand things better this week as almost everything they broadcasted was about Sandra. Sandra was really lucky...she was treated very nicely (even if they lied to her as part of their task or whatever) and got to experience a much more nicer version of BB than Niko over Slovenia. No offense to slovenians if there's any on board, but that is one of the worst BB versions I've watched. And the people themselves...boring, cranky celeb men and plastic surgery doll women. Nothing seems to ever happen there as far as fun goes, I bet Niko can't wait to get back in Finland. And poor Sandra for going back into her country, I personally don't see how she fits with that bunch of grey people! Now about BB Finland anyway...I guess I don't really like any contestant in the end. Maybe Marika if I had to choose. She seems to make an effort to be nice and fun all around others. But she sounds quite annoying at times too. About tomorrow nominations, I hope Nino gets evicted. I don't understand why is that guy popular. Sure, he's a goofball apparently, who doesn't like them after all? But it gets sickening after a while, really. I speak from experience since in that sort of a way I am quite much like him. Except he doesn't come across as intelligent at all and seems quite annoying as well. Jani T, that guy I don't really get what's he all about. Apparently he's not liked by his housemates anyway. And as for Petri, heh, I don't really like this apparent general opinion that he's now the "man of the house" that Niko left or whatever. He seems quite immature to me. The way he dealed with the Sandra possible fling thing...he could have maybe used that in his advantage. But he overlooked it and ended up looking quite dumb IMO. As for the other girl nominated, Elli-Maija, I kinda like her. I'm thinking maybe it's her that gets evicted because she's quite reserved, withdrawn, has a boyfriend and looks all around depressed, not sure why...something going on or she's just not ambienting to her housemates very well? Actually, I was wondering about her short conversation with Sandra today, when she said she thought she was being evicted because Nino is popular and Petri is the only straight guy in the house (I guess the other is Eetu?). I didn't know Nino and Jani T are gay even if it can be a bit obvious if to be judgemental. How often is it that the male contestants in finnish BB are gay? I guess not as much as the girls being bi or well, party-time bi, because girl on girl action seems to happen all the time around here with girls when drunken enough (and you don't really need to watch BB to witness that anyway). Well, these are just some of my opinions based on my limited knowledge of watching the show. About the old contestants...not much to say, Ellinoora was really cute but then again came across as a bit of a moody diva and I don't get why Satu was even on this edition, she's totally out of charachter when trying to fit her alongside the group. But I did get she was liked by most others and was sort of a "wise" big momma for all of them, I guess it was to couter-balance all the immature stuff going on inside the house with all others. |
Sorry for the long gap between updates. I've been a bit pre-occupied and a few other forums I'm writing to. Not only BB-related. Anyway, to get everyone up to speed: Vilhelmiina was evicted shortly after Sandra entered. Ellinoora was evicted last week.
To answer Radium's questions...the weekly task during the swap was indeed to lie (or more specifically give a false but plausible picture of Finland and the culture) to Sandra. Judging from the reasons for nominating Ellinoora, at least some of the HMs thought she was homesick and bad moody. Giving the house negative energy. Since the questions were asked during the swap, at the time the other straight male in the house was Eetu. Niko is also straight. There have been gays in BB Finland every year since season 3. Usually 2-3 per season. This season there's been 3 gay guys (including Niko S.) and 2 lesbians (Marika and Mia). And a few who declared themselves being bi. And what comes to Radium's assessment of CBB Slovenia...I'm quite sure the slovenes mostly agree. At least judging from what they've been writing on their official forum. Niko is the HoH, again. However this week the HoH didn't have immunity in nominations. Also there was a twist in the nominations, that hadn't been used before in BB Finland. The HMs were called to the secret area, where they nominated each others face to face. They had to reason their nominations properly, nothing like "because we haven't talked that much". And they had 2 minutes each to do this. Any HM failing to nominate with proper reasons within 2 minutes would be automatically up for eviction. |
