Racism vs homophobism vs bullying vs Sexism

what is worse?

Patrick 17-05-2010 12:16 PM

Bullying.

Niamh. 17-05-2010 12:21 PM

Depends on each individual situation imo, some racism cases are worse than some bullying cases and vice versa

_Seth 17-05-2010 12:23 PM

They're all exactly the same. :s They're all unfair, pointless and stupid.

No one is doubting that all are indeed wrong. The question is what is worse?

no but it is worthwhile to discern what is worse and in need of say greater attention, policy, education and so forth.

Every head teacher is faced with decisions like this each term

Why is persecution of homophobic people a bad thing?

Stu 17-05-2010 12:59 PM

Why homophobism and not homophobia? You know exactly what you are doing. It's a stupid topic. No comparison.

Homophobism isn't a word and homophobic means someone who hates and fears homosexuals and are thus bullys themselves, I hope you didn't know that aren't just being an arse.

I dont think homophobes fear gay people unless the gay person is a bully and then it would be correct to fear him.

i think you may have your wires crossed here?

I'd like to ask 'Which is the best?' aha.

I'm going to say bullying is the worst of the worst these days. Homophobism does seem to be more nefarious and you see here how people are really just unapologetic about it.
Usually the racist knows to try and hide it or deny it or explain their way out of it.
The bully will at least know to shift blame to the victim.
The sexist knows to keep his attitude muted and away from too many eyes,
but,
The homophobists is not only without remorse but even seems proud of it. Even when confronted they will even admit to the unfairness and STILL continue on.
So the homophobist might be the one to worry about the most as they willfully, remorselessly and even believing it is their 'right' carry on.
They also employ bullying so you can include that in there too.

DigitalSid 17-05-2010 01:20 PM

So yeah looks like Stu's right and the OP knew what they were doing, i.e. being a tit.

I get that with things that one should naturally fear like animals/insects that can bite but i do not think the generic definition works with say hom-o-sexuals.

DigitalSid 17-05-2010 01:41 PM

Homophobist is not a word, homophobe is.
Homophobism isn't a word, homophobia is.
Homophobic does not mean homosexual, homosexual does.
