Mods appearing offline.
 

I don't think mods should be allowed to appear offline tbh. What if someone need help or something? It's a bit silly isn't it?

Surely it's up to them if they want to be invisible. I'm sure they probably get hounded with stupid PM's, probably from yourself Jess if they show as online.

Well why do you care? They still get the PM's from reported posts. They just don't want to be seen as online. I fail to see how it is a "bit silly"?

If a person has a problem with a post, they should use the report button, the mods visible status will have no effect on the system in place.

If a person needs guidance they can post and the Mod will still see it.

Methinks you dislike the Mod's being invisible because you cant keep tabs on them using the who's online page. Thats a bit control freakish Jess. Or is it because you want to be able to do something they cant, to cater to your feelings of inadequacy in not being staff/admin here?

No but if someone needed advice about the forum from a mod, that's what they're for!

I appear offline, but I still answer PMs etc that I get sent, providing they arent the useless ones that I get about ten times a day.

Tbh I didn't even realize I was still appearing offline until I saw this thread..changed it a few days ago and just forgot, not that I see why it makes a difference really.

Gosh it was just an inquiry people. I just think it's important for people to know there are mods around fgs.

Another reason why it is bad is because you think no Mods or Admins are online and your like..

Though I will lock it straight away if arguments break out.

And I still dont really see how it could be a problem...if people need help, they rarely PM mods...the only PMs we get really are ones moaning that others havent got infractions for something they did/disputing infractions/reporting again, even though they pressed report/things like that.

Well...that wasn't my intention...I dont even remember why i appeared offline in the first place, but it is quite a good idea, now I think about it :p

Well it is pointless. It's not an opinion. She said it was a bit silly, a mod has replied explaining why they appear offline. Discussion over as far as I'm concerned. People drag things out way too much here and it's already going off topic.
