Will the Engerlish hooligans cause more trouble?
In SA - Engerland has history, no tournament without awful horrible hooligans making fights
Name me a tournament without English causing trouble |
Yeah. Last I heard they were planning on raiding Scotland to get you.

No - I was talking every major championship that England make the Engerlish make trouble/fights. Hooligans go and battle if Engerland do not win Mame me a championship since 2000 this did not happen |

England havent as of yet..
They put up loads of extra people at the friendly England vs platinum all stars.. I found that very disrespectfulhow many more security they had compared to any other game.. yet we done nothing, no fights or anything (though it was only a friendly).. but hopefully not. I dont understand how we have such a bad reputation when in russia serbia etc etc even sometimes in spain.. they light fires in the stadium.. they throw flares onto the pitch fire crackers and all sorts.. Get we get done because a few people have some punch ups.. |
Come and ave a go if yer think yer ard enuff

There's always going to be trouble, not just England but other countries. Pissed up blokes normally leads to a bit of mischief.

Moe successful clubs and countries tend to resort to violent misconduct moreso because they go to matches expecting a win and respect, and when it's not given, or they lose - it turns violent. It's not just England, it happens all over - if you expect a win and don't get it - it'll go violent. Pishy countries like my beloved Scotland go there expecting a good time, win or lose, and so it doesn't tend to resort to violence. As Claymores said. "We're ****, and we know we are". If anyones actually interested (I'm gonna guess nobody), theres an interesting article about this phenomenon, it focusses on England and Scotland though. Giulianotti, R. (1991). Scotland's tartan army in Italy: the case for the carnivalesque. Sociological Review, 39, 3 (1991), 503-27. |
My basic point is that wherever I go in the world, people associate England with hooligans, not just 'a few lads making merry'

Even in England your neanderthalic reputation precedes you. The only difference between us in the world cup is one of us will make it a lot further than the other. No prizes for guessing who. :xyxwave: |

My cousin was in France for the World Cup in 98 and joined in the "celebrations" when Scotland were put out. He said there was a procession of drunk Scots with bagpipes, drums walking all the way down the Champs Elysees singing everything from "Doe a Deer" to "The Back of the Bus is in the Huff" He said it was an amazing night. Unfortunately he was in the vicinity when England rioted and he said it was horrific.. There were families with children and old people being dragged into it and the only way the police could stop it was to turn the water cannons on them.. I'm not saying there isn't a small portion of Scotland fans who like a scrap but The Tartan Army as a whole are welcomed worldwide in a way which the English simply are not :) |

They are in SA. It's not like Europe. The police won't take any shit.

Never any stories of the Tartan Army getting arrested or causing riots |

I'd be surprised if many idiots from this country even make the trip, not exactly as close as Germany in recent years and the amount of people with banning orders is unreal.
Police don't help themselves in this country these days with trouble, they can't be free from blame as they instigate a lot of situations sadly. |

The Green Army are one of the greatest fans on the planet. Incidentally, I just hope that nobody gets aggressive over there, be it the English, Dutch, Argentinians, whoever. It's not needed right now, am I right? So lets just hope it goes smoothly, rather than point an accusatory finger right now.

One of my silly stories is that in 2003 we got on a plane @ Schipol and the bloke in the 3rd seat with us noticed the Scottish Claymores clothes n asked what Scotland was like these days. He had gone to Argentina in 1978, had a good time with the locals in Cordoba after we got cuffed and was just making his way back My answer was easy - you've not missed much since you were away, except we're even worse at fitba! |
I can't get over this amazing game.. how great to watch what feels like hours and hours setting up plays only to get that 0-0 'score'!
1-1! yaaaaa... now we see who is the champ! England 1-1 USA wow.. what a journey! Sorry but enough is enough - open up the damn scoring or just stop pretending it is any kind of meaningful competition. |

(i might mention, I don't mind english premiere league footy but wow these no-scoring and low scoring games.. ugh). I also think its funny the US team is in the World Cup and is a fairly decent team and yet nobody in the USA cares and has zero interest. The USA could win the world cup (because one single goal got past someone in some game), yet, nobody in the USA would care. |
