Ive just heard the new Young song for the 100th time.

He usually comes out with pretty good pop, like Leave Right Now but this new one seems to grate on me. Its trying a bit too hard.

What do you think?

Only got to number 5. It's not really my sort of thing, think he's better off doing stuff like leave right now.

I don't think it's my favourite ever track by him, but it's pretty good I suppose. I find him immensely likeable though.

Quite a big acting debut against Judy Dench and Bob Hoskins, playing a singing/dancing camp cabaret artist in the Windmill Theatre.

i don't have a problem with the guy, but i do find it amusing how his latest song is ahead of the Darkness - One way ticket in the charts right now

The novelty of The Darkness has worn off. It was a great first album, mind.

Can't stand Will Young at all. Bland, insipid, weak voice, no range, tedious songs, appalling videos, unbearably arrogant, plummy, toffee-nosed fop.

I don't like the Darkness. Just a novelty act as far as I'm concerned.

I know it's not really my place to say this, but are you always looking to pick an argument with Charlotte? She dislikes Will Young (for the same reasons as me, really) and has listed her reasons, yet you assume that she is homophobic (which she blantantly isn't) and claim that Leave Right Now is great pop, when that clearly isn't a fact but just your opinion.

I was actually being sarcastic. CharlotteSometimes accused me of being anti-women because I dont like Madonna, so I was just using her logic in the same way she judged me.

I was pointing out how ludicrous it is.

We are allowed to have different opinions.

I think cc is right, you can't call Will Young all those things Charlotte, because many of those points are a) against him as a person, and b) just because you don't like his music, doesn't mean he "can't sing".

No, you were clearly looking for an argument. And no I didn't. You invented that claim when you ran out of points, as anyone that reads the thread concerned can clearly see. Nor did anybody 'judge' you. Why do you feel the need to turn everything into some bizarre Shakespearean drama? None of the comments I made about him are "against him as a person" at all. Nor did I say that he can't sing - which for some strange reason you've posted with quotation marks. I said that he has a weak voice with no range. Do you think he has a powerful voice, with a good range? If people like him or dislike him, that's their choice. The thread invites comments on what people think of him / his music, which is what my comments reflect - my personal opinion.

If you'd bothered to read the thread correctly, you'd have realised that the 'arrogant' observation was retracted (not a concept your familiar with, I know). And he is indeed plummy. As he isn't a member of this forum, it's not a "personal attack" at all.

I really want to see the movie Mrs Henderson; Judi Dench is in it, and she's always worth watching. Will is supposed to be very good in it too. Do you think that he will continue with more acting roles, or stick to the singing?
