What is the worst thing to ever happen to the world?

Just curious as to how you'd answer this question...I don't have an answer yet.

ange7 01-07-2010 02:18 PM

Paris Hilton's 2006 single "Nothing in This World"
it was a massacre

In all seriousness...

The Holocaust.

BB_Eye 01-07-2010 04:18 PM

The Renaissance of the 15th and 16th century.

Or more to the point, the age of discovery and exploration.

this.

Raph 01-07-2010 04:57 PM

The holocaust. Bombings of Hiroshima, Japan. The concentration camps, and the depiction of all-round human racism and cruelty.

ILoveTRW 01-07-2010 04:59 PM

Big Brother being canceled obviously

CaraRawr 01-07-2010 05:03 PM

chernobyl was horrific as well, we're learning about it in physics at the moment and i'm scarred. :\

Benjamin 01-07-2010 05:08 PM

I change my answer. Dunblane was one of the worst, so many children killed for no reason.

BB_Eye 01-07-2010 06:19 PM

By the way, I would pick Chris de Burgh as a close second.

I guess it is mankind.

This place seemed fine before we evolved.

The Holocaust.

Totally abhorrent what man is capable of. And in that, agreement with so many other people. Mankind...

Nemo123 01-07-2010 08:35 PM

Probably the meteor that hit the earth, set the atmosphere alight, and killed everything including the dinosaurs. Followed closely by Chris De Burgh.

Lee. 02-07-2010 12:21 AM

Right, Ive already answered religion, but apart from that (and things like the human race etc) the worst things that stand out in my memory (in my lifetime) are 9/11, Dunblane shootings and the Boxing Day tsunami. More will probably come to me, but those 3 are the occasions when I couldn't take in what I was seeing/hearing.

MrGaryy 02-07-2010 12:24 AM

Definitely religion. Root of most evil and trauma imo [obviously not including natural disasters].

lol 02-07-2010 02:03 PM

I'ma be original and say Justin Bieber. >.>

But being serious, I agree with the guy who said the human race.

How can there not be anything worse than religion?

It's your opinion of course but surely you can see that it's flawed.

Niamh. 06-07-2010 09:51 AM

There were alot of horrible things that happened, I don't see how you could pick one being worse than another though where people have suffered and died. Though as one person pointed out most of those horrible things were done by other human beings so we are probably the answer to your question!

Claymores 06-07-2010 10:52 AM

Religions - so divisive, the cause of so many wars, the cause of people believing in something which don't exist rather than getting-on with their short time and with others on the planet.

Yeah but it's people behind all of the religions so again I'd say humans, we're our own worst enemy!
