What makes me laugh about the Ben-haters is for instance, the second Ben commented on Keeley the forum erupted with how awful Ben is, yet failed to take into account Josie and Keeva made negative comments about her first, and when Ben piped up he was also in the company of JJ and Dave 'B*tching', but they dont choose to see this ,why are people so biased?

Tbh....you are the same with JJ.We all have our favorites.

People are quick to critisise the bigger characters... ie Ben JJ and Corin (althogh Corin isnt so big imo its just she broke her bubble and showed us what we all thought she was about)...Shabby was a big character too.

If we didnt have these bigger characters the sho would be dull... lets face it the others are rather dull...most of the forum are lovers/haters of Ben and JJ and Coirin.

What you see as bias with Ben I see you as bias with JJ...

Ben gets personal when bitching. And has been quite nasty at times. Whereas others just bitch about the situation.

Well Ben has said nasty things about almost every housemate behind their back, and he acts so pleasant to their face. Some of the things he says about these people behind their backs are horrendous. He belittles them, he says that they're dumb/unintelligent. He says that they are boring, that they're uninteresting.

See here's the thing, if Ben doesn't feel he can be a part of a conversation (Wolverine talk, all the Star Wars talk at the moment that even JJ is big in on - Bens' pop culture knowledge is dreadful), he will just belittle the people and laugh about how boring they are behind their backs.

He was saying to someone (Dave I think) that he asked Andrew what he liked and such, and Andrew said he was a big film fan and was talking about Terminator and Memento. Ben was belittling Andrews' interest in films basically, because... he had no idea what these films are. He thought Memento was a Hitchcock film! The things Ben were saying it was as if he felt that Andrew has no right to like films! Come on.

Yeah, right! I noticed how Corin was NOT being personal at all with her bitching about JJ both to him, behind his back, and for about 40 minutes in the diary room:rolleyes::laugh:

Similarly, all the others have bitched specifically about each other all the time. Singling Ben out is biased, so why pretend it isn't?

I agree... Ben's extended attacks are extremely spiteful.

At least Corin is willing to say it to their face. Ben goes over everyone and mocks little bits about them. But there is no point trying to explain to you, the rose tinted specs are well and truly on.

Alp just has more of a balance and objectivity then then the more entrenched Ban fanbois. He is actually one of them I take seriously and have fun chatting to.

The thing with Ben is some of the things he says are quite spiteful and malicious, aimed at a hms character rather than something they said. And he just goes on and on about it until he hits below the belt. He doesn't know how to have an opinion and then move on he has to go from person to person hoping someone agrees with him.

I like Ben but sometimes he comes across as a snobby spiteful mean boy that you can just imagine looking down his nose with his posh chums laughing and b!tching about someone less well off than he is. Not a nice trait to be honest. I suppose it just rolls off his tongue as he is used to doing it.

Nobody bitches at much as Ben, just admit it.

Well if he finds them boring, then he considers them boring, whats wrong with that? I dont see why he should be constantly criticised for not finding a particular housemate interesting. And I dont think he was belittling Andrew's taste in films, he was just acknowleding that the films Andrew likes are ones he has no interest in.

BEN does not bitch at all, he states his view and he makes personal comments yes, like they all do.
Ben rarely says anyhting that is not true though, JJ invents anything to get attention to what he's saying, Ben is far too intelligent to do that or even need to do that.
They all talk about each other just as people in workplaces talk about their colleagues but Ben in doing so states what he's heard ,seen and what he thinks only, he is also one of the few in there if anyone told him something in confidence it would never be repeated ever without their permission.
There is a BEN bias against him because he is calm, he is non conformist and he is also decent and honest,long may he stay that way, IF there was a competition to win a meal with a housemate then I would choose Ben for the simple fact he is well spoken, down to earth, and has a wide knowledge of many subjects,also he has no time for things that neither test the mind or are just plain and simply stupid and rediculous as with that really childish and pathetic tree task he was given.

No point 'hating' him, but I hate the biased favouritism he has had from the producers from the start. Not that he is the only one but it's still annoying.

Do we have had to have paid for LF and sat there for hours watching it to have an opinion now?

It helps. No one knew Govan was very funny in the house as we only saw him b!tching. I didn't get live feed from the start but other hms have said he was hilarious something I didn't see.

i agree,Ben has his faults but is still the best hm in there .

No, but those that don't would probably be wise admitting that those that do have a more complete view of the HMs and various situations and should maybe be asking questions rather then arriving with set in stone concrete opinions based on heavily edited and biased HL shows.

Just my take on it.

True, I just didnt like the whole "you dont have LF, ****" attitude you were displaying. I dont think that only watching the HL show (as I do) gives you a complete view of the housemates but broadly speaking I would say you do generally get a good impression of their character from it. I know Ben bitches a lot from watching the HL, the person who said he doesnt was wrong but not I dont think whether or nor he has LF is relevant in his opinion.

Ben's condescension is funny.
I like him for the entertainment value, but he's seriously diluted.

How can you say not seeing his 5 hour spiteful slagging sessions on LF, versus the jolly 1 min that might be shown on HL, isnt relevent to forming an opinion to Bens nasty bitching?

People that watch a lot of LF have a deeper and wider picture of all the HMs, thats obviously just going to be a fact.

Not every opinion is as valid as the next and no one has a human right to have theirs taken seriously. Again, thats obviously just my opinion.

He did seem very quick to go on about her, but then Keely was very quick to start on the house and ben's hair. What he said was true though

I really don't get the level of fanaticism I've seen on this forum. Don't people understand that the HM's are only human and have good points and flaws like the rest of us. I like Ben to watch and find him funny but I completly understand what a ***** he can be.

Ben used to be my favourite. He was a comedy legend in first few weeks. Lately his comedy has dried up and he has become male equivalent of Quaver.

In the past he used to bitch about the situation he was in, or bitch about people who had been mean to him etc. His bitching then was funny and not nasty at all.

Now though he bitches in a nasty way about people who have done nothing to him. He is not my comedy king anymore. I think Quaver has brought out the inner nastiness in him. Big mistake Ben becoming friends with that snake.

vesavius is one of those people who cannot debate sensibly and also if someone does not have the same view as them then they are irrelevant either to being seen as inferior to vesavius or being of a lower class then them, I take LF and watch all of big brother that my time from work allows and I will not take lectures from someone like vesavius who are intolerant and very likely prejudiced anyway.
Whoever vesavius is they have a lot in common with John James who alos cannot debate sensible but can only try to belittle and insullt others who don't have the same views as him.
Maybe someday vesavius will make a comment worth reading and that has some relevant sense to it too.

When I said that it was irrelevant whether he has LF or not, I was saying that the fact that Ben bitches a lot can be formed by watching the HL show, you dont need to sit there watching the live feed for 5 hours a day to know that, so the issue shouldnt have been brought up. The poster was wrong about Ben to say "he doesnt bitch at all" but I doubt thats because he doesnt have LF, he just seems to have a distorted view of what bitching is

Ben needed to give the newbies a chance, however he started ripping into them in the first 2 hours of them being there. Not as bad as he has been but still man give them a chance. At least he hasent been that bad the last couple of days (though ive been away for 2 days so havent seen the live feed).

Just do what I did and stick him on your "ignore" list.
