Are Welsh people proud of Dave?

Not heard much pro-welsh fervour for the sinister minster

Wales not like him then?

Chels 05-08-2010 01:22 PM

Does nationality even matter?

No it doesn't you clown, so everyone from Wales has to like him because he's Welsh? No fkin way

Kore 05-08-2010 01:28 PM

Im Welsh and Agree with Chels.

Just because he's welsh doesnt mean I'm going to like him. I dont think he's the worst housmate, but he certainly isnt my favourite. He's alrightish i guess....

brian3 05-08-2010 01:29 PM

Why do Welsh, scotish and irish hms alway need the seal of approval from the Welsh, Scotish or Irish.

Crimson Dynamo 05-08-2010 01:30 PM

This is what I mean

the Weshies dont like him

The Irish always get behind their man and so do the Scots

interesting...

The majority of HMs have been English and in the past fans from Wales and Scotland have complained the Welsh and Scottish HMs have been poor representations. Same as gay people saying "the gay HMs are poor representions", black people, Asian people etc etc

LaLaLand 05-08-2010 01:35 PM

I'm Welsh, I'm proud that there's been a prominent Welsh housemate in there this year but I still dislike Dave as a housemate., if that makes sense.

Not the case with Wales really, Imogen, Helen, Glyn have come from wales, but they havnt been bad representations of us really, neither has Dave been Bad.

They just havnt been MY Favourite. The fact I'm Welsh doesnt really come into it. lol

Oh yeah thats so true, like the whole of Ireland supported Noirin and all of Scotland supported Karly last year. But then again they werent men were they, lets look further in the past for nationalist support......

Lets not bother eh, because the only person who believes the drivel he spouts is the OP himself.

Raph 05-08-2010 01:37 PM

I'm Welsh. I loved Rachel, Glyn and Imogen. However, I didn't like them as they were Welsh; I liked them as they were great housemates. Dave on the otherhand, doesn't irritate me, but I hardly support him. I think personality comes first, and then perhaps, nationality!

It usually happens that way.

seanraff07 05-08-2010 01:38 PM

I'm Scottish and i've really disliked the most recent Scottish HM's.

LaLaLand 05-08-2010 01:39 PM

I HATED Imogen, she was the most pointless BB7 housemate. She didn't speak for about 7 weeks and when she did she was just a cow.

DrunkerThanMoses 05-08-2010 01:41 PM

Wiredly Ive never really liked many welsh housmeates (bar from Rachel and Helen).

Not really, if there actually was a nationality vote (and there clearly isn't) then those HMs would have a fck load of votes and pretty much make the final everytime. And there's always the idiot who goes 'Rachel won BB9 because of the Welsh' which seriously pisses me off because I couldn't stand the bint.

Nationality means nothing in BB

Bullsh!t, how come Scottish HMs have always done crap then????

They've needed a North Waleian in there from the start and there hasn't been any.

We've had Mid and South but not North. They'd definitley stir things up (not bias at all................)

I think the criticism in the past was before BB7 and that there was a big lack of Welsh HMs in BBs1-6. Helen in BB2, Lisa in BB4, Maggot in CBB4 but who else? Whereas the Scots had a few more but weren't overly keen on Lynne, Federico, Cameron, Jason etc

At the end of the day not everyone will have the exact same opinion on HMs as other people, it is all personal preference, as shown in the votes "Who do YOU want to evict/win?" But BB also deals with social gorups and that's why viewers can relate to those social groups e.g. Derek was gay, black and a tory so some viewers could relate to some of his aspects, but might compalin "He's too camp. Not all gay men are like that" or "He's too bitchy. He makes black people look bad."

I'm English and tbh I can't stand a lot of the English HMs lol.

Claymores 05-08-2010 01:48 PM

I have to slightly agree with LT for a change - during BB7 I was told on c4 forum and I quote "we're all behind Glyn because he's Welsh boyo. All the people at my factory are voting him to win"

LaLaLand 05-08-2010 01:49 PM

Nooo Blaenau where Glyn's from is seen a Mid from up here! I guess you could class it as North.. but it's not NORTH North.

Throw someone from the backstreets of Rhyl in.. :O

I think Glyn was an exeption, because he was a very patriotic person, and was playing for his country. First time Welsh had been spoken in there, his Welsh swimsuit, how he spent hours of the day speaking about Wales - in that case, I can say a housemate did do Wales proud :)

Rachel was born in Torfaen, but she's originally from Cwmbran, and lives there. Helen is also from Cwmbran. It's the Cwmbranis ;)

I never said the Welsh should vote for Dave to win on the basis that he's Welsh or that this has been the case in the past. What I said was The Scottish and Welsh, along with gay people, black people, Asian people, work class, upper class, any social group have complaiend in the past that they are porr representations of their specific groups. If BB was purely a Nationality vote then it'd be like Eurovision, which it's not

I'm winding you slightly Raph - it's hard to be patriotic behind Dave. as it was hard for me to acknowlege Cameron was Scottish! Or other 'scottsh' entrants who were complete fails

Ye but tbf we don't care where Dave's from and whether he gives a good representation of 'us' as nobody is going to be exactly like him and he's not representing us for that reason.
