A Serbian Film - sickest movie I have ever seen
 

it is so disturbing and brutal and sick

for the last half of the film you will most likely watch with your mouth open in disbelief and horror (thats if you haven't switched off or hidden behind the sofa)

if you are sat thinking Saw and Hostel were sick or other similar films, believe me when I say they are like Mary Poppins compared to A Serbian Film

even the music is disturbing, the whole mood of the film is disturbing

for the last 1 minute of the credits it is a blank black screen with only the eerie fu**ed up music playing still

its as if the director knows you are gonna be still sat there with mouth open in shock even after credits have finished

it is amazingly well made, acted and directed

but

DO NOT WATCH IF EASILY UPSET OR OFFENDED OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

I think it's great actually. I'm not a big fan of Serbian films, but this one is amazing.

OMG, the film was released in the USA, but not in Serbia. Ridiculous.

I read through your comment wondering what the film was called and it was until I saw the youtbe trailer that I realised "A Serbian Film" was actually the name, and not just a generic title lol.

Seriously though, that looks like a proper messed up film, even the trailer freaked me out :o

Whoever came up with the idea of the film needs to be locked up, lol

It looks like a terrible film, Very B-movie-ish.

Thought you'd say that Jon, the 'newborn porn' thing takes it utterly too far and its an outrage that it ever got awards at film fests. Well, its an outrage that it ever got the go ahead

Nah I like over the top gore films, but even I find torture porn films difficult to watch. I dont really watch them.

The film won awards? I think it might of won them becuase its a bit different and so shocking then any other film ever.

Yeah I was just reading up on it, the director says it's meant to represent the opressive Serbian government or something like that. I personally see an excuse for shock tactics.

note - once it comes on click close ad, then the arrow and it start playing - its a screening copy so very good picture and sound quality

I'm actually strangely curious about this film. Which is wrong as hell given the plot and reviews. But its one of those things that I'm not going to believe is so bad...until I see it i think :S

Yep, read the plot myself. I don't know what to say right now.... finding it difficult to take it all in and come up with a meaningful comment. It kinda numbs me when I consider how the human race has "progressed" to this point, allowing a film like this to be made, nevermind watched.

I would normally say that I should watch the film first before commenting on it, but to tell you the truth I can't ever see myself sitting down and viewing this flick.

It does make you wonder how detached from life the people who make special effects and make-up for these kinds of film are. Like obviously it's not real, but to go to work with the thought "I have to recreate the rape of a newborn child today" is beyond me.

Forget about the twisted individuals who made it; what about the country itself - which has a history of violence and brutality - and the fact that they allowed something like this to represent them on an international level. It's baffling really.

Ok, I pressed play. Let's see how long I last.

Ok, watched about 10 mins or more now and I actually hate the fact that it's so well made. Something like Hostel I can dismiss, but this has started so well.

30 mins through and it's a brilliantly made film.... so far.

Its a very well made film i thought the way it is shot is excellent which almost makes it a bit of a let down that they had to resort to shock tactics when it could of stood alone without feeling the need to not just push the boundaries but attempt to stomp all over them.
There are probably only 3 scenes in the whole film that do this but thats all the film will ever be known for now.

I understand a little bit why it was made and what they were trying to say but I still don't accept it.

There's no denying it's powerful though if you decide to view it as an actual film rather than a piece of sensationalism.

And I realise what I said makes no sense. I'm still bewildered really.

Its sickening as you say its a disgrace i just came away from it thinking why just why do that to what otherwise could have been an excellent film sometimes the things we dont see can make a film more powerful than resorting to showing the worst things possible just for the sake of cheap shock tactics.

My big reservation is about Serbia itself, and why they allowed this thing to even be filmed, especially when you consider their history.

Well yeah, the filmmakers were considering their history when they made it and that really gives the film so much power, but at what price?

Seriously, what price? I know what they were trying to say and I think it's an important film in some ways, but I still feel it's a digrace in others.

But then I have to think of my fav artists and they painted bodies, sometimes mutilated. It's a very interesting area. And the newborn porn wasn't too explicit.. well, I lie... it was mental.
