I'm no fan of John James but it seems he's in a lose/lose situation, he proposes to her and everyone says it's not real, and then if he had failed to stay with her outside of the house everyone would just claim that it proves he was faking it the whole time

I don't question the fact that they love each other!, its clearily obvious that it is real.
