should snooker be on TV ? yes or no ?

the love of my life starts today 18-09-10

forget big brother or even the jungle,
i am going to lay you out on a green fungal.
at 12 * 6 foot its long and wide,
3.7 * 1.8 meters is real and like john Higgins no snide.
but 2010 brings changes, just like the current recession,
fast and furious and shorter with no boredom depression.
but how will this effect the game and players,
will they adapt or have to shred new layers.
i love it, the Joe is hooked,
the new fish will be examined and by me scrutinised and cooked.
welcome back BBC snooker, you i did miss,
BBC coverage and channel 301 on my digi box are pure snooker bliss.

(if there is one thing the Joe loves more then the soootster its the snooker but can i find anyone else on tibb message board that likes this game ? come to think of it can i find anyone anywhere that likes this game as much as me ? speak now or for ever hold it in.)

stop posting in riddles!!!!

Dirty Vile Joe, please try to improve on your spelling, grammar and punctuation. It is not pleasant to read your "rhymes" when they are presented in such a disorganised manner.

Never mind that.
You should change your signature first!

Joe, I think there are quite many people love snooker, so I should say yes, and choose No2.:D

Omen 18-09-2010 07:20 PM

No. Novelty wore off 25 years ago.

I remember you are a very good rhymer, Jessica.
But this is a Joe's own special style.
(I do not think any foreign language students will be learning English from his posts.)

Claymores 18-09-2010 07:49 PM

I'm so old I can remember watching Pot Black in b&w - I remember it being quite amusing trying to work out which colours the balls were.

Kerry 18-09-2010 09:06 PM

What was that famous snooker quote from many moons ago? "For those of you watching in black and white the pink is behind the green"

Makes me laugh so much :joker:

It was Joe - the show with the irritating theme tune - "I'm gonna be snookering you tonight.........." It was doubly irritating as my ex used to randomly sing it - I think just to bug me!

Snooker in black & white was hilarious tho............trung to remember where the pink was as it looked just like the reds

Black and white, Really? That was very difficult.
Well at least you owned the TV.

When we were married (mid 70s) we could not afford to buy one. I remember we had to have TV rentalled. It always broke down.

I heard TV rental is popular in recent years as people can have modern one all the time.

Radio Rentals (TV rentals really) was the big thing back then. I do remember when my parents changed from b&w to colour rented TV - it was like a whole new world!

TVs and computers are quite irritating right enough - buy one someday then it's out of date and/or cheaper the next!

Stop typing rubbish. Sheffield is a lovely city, one of the best in the UK. I bet you ironically live in London.

Is that London just next to Edinburgh and the Highlands?

Groundbreaking news from the Sheffield Star:

'Drunk' medal thief in appeal
By Polly Rippon
A BURGLAR who got drunk and stole cherished medals and cigarette lighters from the home of two elderly brothers has had his sentence halved by top judges.

Scott Jones, aged 19, of Saville Road, Wath Upon Dearne, broke into the house with two teenage friends after they drank 36 bottles of lager between them at another friend's house.

Is this the end for historic brass band
By Ben James

Could this be the final curtain?

After a dazzling 123-year history one of South Yorkshire's most popular silver bands faces extinction.

Killamarsh Silver Band has seen its numbers dwindle over recent years, leaving the remaining members having to scrape together enough players to
make the 25 needed for a full complement.

They are now appealing to readers of The Star to help them save the band
