Tram to put an end to the Rovers!?

Corrie star Michelle Keegan *is to burst back on to the cobbles – as the sexiest barmaid ever to work at the Rovers *Return.

The 19-year-old plays man-eater Tina McIntyre – who will pull pints after not being seen on screen for months.

A Coronation Street insider said *yesterday: “Show bosses see Michelle as the new Bet Lynch and think she’s got a huge *future ahead of her.

“She is young, gorgeous, a great actress and *hugely popular with viewers. They think she’ll be the sexiest barmaid in the history of the Rovers.”

One of the regulars Tina will serve pints to is David Platt – played by Thomas *Ormson. Platt is Tina’s former boyfriend who got her pregnant so she had an abortion, and he still loves her.

She will also be seen flirting with Jason Grimshaw, played by Ryan Thomas, 27, who she was engaged to before dumping him. Tina’s flirting with her former-flames leads to a string of bust-ups with current boyfriend, *Corrie butcher Graeme Proctor, played by Craig Gazey, 28.

And in a sensational *storyline at the end of the year, Tina will be seen rescuing drinkers when the roof of the Rovers caves in after a tram crashes into the Kabin and the Corner Shop.

Those inside the Rovers are trapped and Tina will be among a number of heroes who come to the rescue in some of the most dramatic scenes ever shown on Corrie – being screened for the show’s 50th anniversary
.

Meanwhile, Corrie bosses were forced to stop filming for a day last Tuesday after a leaky roof flooded the set.

Old news? It happens in two months...so...it's not old, and who else has done a tram crash?

Nah, we haven't really had any fake spoilers so far

Omen 18-09-2010 09:45 PM

Omen 18-09-2010 09:48 PM

There must be a new trend in pub designs now the soaps are burning and smashing up their old ones. This is old news. You mean you didn't already know this?

Smithy 18-09-2010 09:49 PM

It was never previously confirmed the Rovers would be in anyway effected, seeing as it's on the other end of the street compared to where the tram is crashing

Well natasha does try to commit suicide, and we still don't know if she does it in the end.

And Tina's rape was only reported by one paper XP

I think he meant like the Queen Vic's fire.

True, though it does seem to be a bit of a jump from the far end of the street to the Rovers end

Coronation Street, on that bridge, years ago except it was a steam train.

Well to be fair if this did happen, it'd be kind of different as it would affect a row of houses and not just a pub :p

43 years ago, it's already been said the tram crash is a homage to that one, which pushed the boundaries of TV back then

Oh yeah definitely, blows a pub fire out the water but just the idea of destroying the pub (main feature of the soap).

Really excited for it to happen! :D
And at least there will be some deaths too, lmao.

but like I said, it'd affect a row of houses, a bar, a shop and a post office, different from EE in many ways :p

BUT, I don't think this spoiler is true, it seems far fetched, not to mention they said Thomas Ormson plays David Platt, when Jack P. Shepherd does

Smithy 18-09-2010 10:00 PM

Oh wait, it's the mirror

They're the ones that reported Tina's rape :bored:

Aye, though, if were gonna go with that, Corrie was the first to do it in the Rovers fire of 1986 xD

Indeed, I can believe her becoming a barmaid, but like I said it sounds far fetched, they couldn't destory the terraced row, it's been there since 1960

Yeah exactly. Theres a limited amount of plot lines so ultimately its going to look like the soaps are copying each other.

Aye, and due to my job, I only have time to watch Corrie (on the ITV Player) now, so I don't really care what the other soaps are doing lol

RichardWells 19-09-2010 09:13 AM

God I hope their is no real life tram crash during the week of these special episodes lol.

Considering the theme that runs along side our soaps, then yes there will always be similarities.

Just like there will be between Star Wars & Star Trek, or True Blood and Vampire Diaries etc....

Old news it may be, but because it hasn't happened yet, then it's fun to speculate, it's what keeps some of these threads alive.

Also this maybe old news to you, but to some they might have just read about it.

lol I heard a tram going along the end of my street with the horn blaring non stop

And I agree, soaps are always going to have similarities

flamingGalah! 20-09-2010 09:31 PM

They have their info mixed up a bit... It's the Joinery bar roof that collapses, not the Rovers... The Rover's wont be affected at all...
