I am amazed anyone would have thought that in the first place?

They made a point to mention Buble was on holidays and popped onto the shoe for what is really a fun celebrity guest appearance. It is not meant to be his 'A-Game' and it wasn't.
But his B-Game is pretty damn good. His 'off-work' drop in singing is still a helluva lot more impressive than most any others best moments.

I'm not even a huge fan (kinda like some of his songs here and there) and I'm not some expert either,
but,
who thought he was miming??

fruit_cake 26-10-2010 09:20 AM

I don't think he was miming.. I don't think he's very good though really not sure why he's supposed to have the x-factor :conf::conf:

he definitely has some kind of x-factor as he is massive just about worldwide and women go to puddles over him,
but,
he wasn't really 'that good' this weekend as he was dropping in for fun gig on the side and do a quick song for them.

If you can find a few quality sounds of his serious stuff - yes he can definitely sing and sing well.
I'm not saying he is the greatest either or they are all solid gold but he is in 'world class' territory for sure.

I'm not rushing out to by his CD's or MP3s either but oh well.

fruit_cake 26-10-2010 09:26 AM

don't see why women are going to puddles about him, hes not particularly good looking is he.. he's got elf ears and is a bit fat and stumpy bless him, but maybe older women like him for his voice or something.. defo not my type

Harry! 26-10-2010 09:28 AM

Someone in my school who is 15 loves him to bits.

Z 26-10-2010 12:30 PM

I find him very boring to watch so I wasn't paying him any attention when he performed!

Oh well, if you think he's unattractive, then he must be.

MissKittyFantastico 26-10-2010 01:32 PM

I find it hard to tell when people are miming, unless they are REALLY bad.

I didn't think he was miming on Saturday, he always holds the mic well away from his mouth anyway and it just looked too natural for him to be lip synching.

Vicky. 26-10-2010 01:37 PM

I knew he wasnt miming. He can have the mic down near his FEET and you can still hear him

His voice is so powerful. Good to see in that interview though, that he admits it was flat. But to be fair it was because he was ill and had to drop a key. But he did still try, and it sounded ok.

robb 26-10-2010 03:42 PM

I didn't think he was miming though I do think he's a bore.
I KNEW Chav Cole was miming on the other hand.

Jamietwo 26-10-2010 04:29 PM

he doesn't need to mime, he has this amazing voice that sounds tuned and comes from his chest and the back of his throat, did anyone see him on telly the other night with the questions in between, i haven't got any of his albums but he really is a very talented vocalist plus i will admit to finding him very attractive in a sort of modest average bloke kind of way.

"in a sort of modest average bloke kind of way"

sorry that does not compute

Buble what a legend

modest is like um dunno really...it's like your not full of yourself...average...well i mean he is good looking but not perfect body or nothing is it. but i just sort of love him, it's hard to tell. like if we was under a blanket watching tv and he did a really smelly fart and picked his nose or something it might put me off to be honest. but anyway when he is in a suit on telly in his shiny shoes singing like he does, wow i have a moment i can tell you.

Shaun 26-10-2010 05:45 PM

Well he was, so no harm done.

setanta 26-10-2010 05:47 PM

He wasn't miming. Very obvious to be honest with you just by how he moves the mic and it effects the volume of his voice.

Zippy 26-10-2010 06:05 PM

Well if he didnt mime then he should have because he sounded awful.

If Cheryl has to take crap for her singing then so called accomplished singers like him should be called out too! Its not like he does any choreography or anything just stand there with a mic and sing a bloody easy MOR song.

His songs are easy listening anyways so hardly a stretch vocally. He was a sloppy mess and thats my honest opinion.

However, to sing dreadfully AND look like youre miming at the same time is a skill though!

He admitted himself that it was bad. he was ill on the night.

Every other live performance I have seen by him, he did great.

Most would have decided to mime anyways, nevermind when they were ill.

He was ill, he could have copped out and not sung live but he never does so I actually admire him for that, would rather hear him sounding a bit ropey than have him taking the easy route like so many others would have.

A song is easy listening so that means it's not a stretch vocally? First time I've heard that reasoning.

And he didn't look like he was miming at all.

So why is half the internet saying he did then?

Speaks for itself. Dont care either way because it was an awful performance whether mimed or live.

Cheryl pissed all over him.

He wasn't miming Zippy, and I actually quite liked his performance. I like anyone singing live and he's a good performer.

They must have seen something different to me then.

And he was 100x better than Katy Perry the week before, what was her excuse?

Oh and Cheryl was autotuned the bits she did actually sing, the rest she was miming :)

Vicky. 26-10-2010 06:25 PM

Sorry but singing live>>>>>>>>>>>>>.miming.

Even if the singing is quite crap...

Otherwise, whats the point in them being known as singers?

The only time miming is acceptable I think, is if there is a very energetic dance routine. Which is why I didnt have a problem with cheryl miming...as noone could sing and dance like that and sound good...

Well exactly. Nobody watches Cheryl for a vocal masterclass. But like other popstars (Britney, Madonna etc) she puts on a show.

But with artists like Buble its supposed to be all about the voice. So if you can't deliver that then you FAIL. Just like Britney failed when she didnt put on a show..just walked around the stage like a dozey bint.

Again, I don't see why he should get a free pass when popstars like Cheryl always get slaughtered.

So should he have just cancelled then? because he was ill and his voice wouldnt be up to scratch?

Yes, if he cares about his rep and feels strongly about giving his best.

Otherwise just suck up the criticism! Like Britney had too and many others have even when they have their reasons.

And he didnt sound very ill in the interview imo.

Jords 26-10-2010 07:12 PM

I didnt think he was that bad at all, ill or not. Michael has a great voice, though not too keen on his new single if Im honest.

Not at all.

That is just silly.

He was flat, wasn't feeling very well.

Livia 27-10-2010 09:36 AM

If that's what he sounds like when he's not well, what does that say about the sucky bunch of amateurs on the show? Cheryl wasn't ill, she mimed. It's okay not to like Michael Buble, but be adult enough to give him the credit he's due.

fruit_cake 27-10-2010 10:08 AM

Matt's already better than Michael Buble...and Rebecca will be too and maybe Aiden IMO

again, I'm not some Buble fanatic and wouldn't rush out to buy his next single either,
but,
saying Aiden may eventually be a better singer than Buble is like saying 'in theory anything can happen'.

Let's all come back to reality a little now.

fruit_cake 27-10-2010 04:39 PM

well I just don't think Michael Buble has the x-factor.. I don't think he'd win the competition if he were in it.. hes too boring IMO

To me I see him as about as interesting (charisma-wise) as Matt - which is not very much.

Having said that, women go mental for Buble. I mean he obviously has some kind of x-factor because he fills stadiums with 22-36 year old women with some freaky 'cult like infatuation' following.
He can go on Oprah and the women just lose their minds over Buble Day.

I don't see it but there it is.

Lucy. 27-10-2010 07:20 PM

People just presumed he was miming because he was good, usually the singers they have on their are **** so need autotuning.

Good? My only doubts about him miming were actually because he sounded awful! Like a poor mans James Morrison.

I mean you wouldnt mime to a bad vocal track.
