Nadine's album FLOPS!
Oh dear. Set to debut at a pathetic No38.
Sorry Nadine, seems like nobodies interested in you on your own. Some people just don't have the charisma to be a solo success. You're clearly one of them. Ive always said for years that she would flop as a solo artist despite her good voice. -smug- ps; her single is also set to drop out of the top40 after its sad debut at No26. http://i52.tinypic.com/xc7rj9.jpg pps; great to also see Taylor swifts album plummeting down the charts already! This aint America, honey. :xyxwave: |
Apparently it's a good album, it's just she shot herself in the foot by signing exclusively with TESCO.
The only reason Cheryl sells so well is because she has the XF as a platform to perform on. |

She would have had solo success anyways. Not as much maybe without XF but certainly more than Nadine is having. Nadine couldnt get a decent record deal so had to take what she could. Indeed, I think she's actually released it through her own record company. I could be corrected on the exact details coz I can't be arsed to check. |

The album is quite good actually, there's a few songs which could be hits.

Cheryl has it, Nadine doesn't. Not everything is definable especially when it comes to who draws peoples attention. Look at Jordan; there's no good reason to like her but she's still one of the most famous people in the country and makes millions from people being drawn to her and her products. |
In other news, MM&I is probably crying as we speak as Taylor Swift falls to Number 36.

Even Pixie Lotts album is still around the same number as them - after 61 weeks on the charts! |

Using Jordan as an example to justify any ones 'star quality' makes you look desperate. As Niamh says you come across as mean spirited at times with the way you revel in the misfortune of anyone who challenges your 'Princess' Cheryl. |

Like you wouldnt revel in Cheryl failing! I dont have hate for Nadine and spam the boards with it like Cheryl haterz like you certainly do. So get off your bloody high horse. As for Cheryl needing Ashley.....all speculation based on hindsight and ifs & buts etc. She stood out before Ashley which is why she attracted him. See, it all ties in. |

You say you dont have hate for Nadine but you seem pleased her album has failed when just about everyone says its a better album and you've stated a thread pointing out the failure. Pull the other one. |

yes. |
She was always going to flop, apart from the silly exclusivity deal there's the fact that her song sounded like she went back in time and nicked it from Michelle Branch. Her sound was just completely irrelevent.
|
i agree with what others have said on this thread, cheryl would have floped without the x factor.

Give the girl a break. It's not exactly for talent that Cheryl has done any better, or even the quality of her music.

whatever, Ill allow you an opinion but its sales speak for itself(4th biggest seller of 2009). And if XF is oh so responsible for her success than how come it didint do anything for Dannii's singing career? Quite. :xyxwave: |

Point is, it was bloody popular. and no. |
Oh well I hope she learns from this. Many of the best and long lasting artists began from the bottom and worked their way up.

And **** popularity. JLS get continual #1s because of that. |

Dannii hardly got noticed on XF until the Sharon bust up and then the Cheryl rivalry thing. Which kinda proves that XF alone is not responsible for Cheryl being possibly the most famous female in the country right now. Its a combination of factors. |

Katie Price is a big name in this country because 90% of people hate her, it's the other way around with Cheryl.

My view is that Nadine spent too long trying to perfect an album that, by the time it was released, went against the grain of styles of currently popular music. She pitched her album/album ideas to various record labels who all clearly saw that the album wasn't going to sell well; and she ended up settling for Tesco because they wanted to get an established name on their record label so, in her eyes, it's making the best of a bad bunch of rejections but trying to pass it off as a success. She limited her target audience which is never sensible if you're trying to be a successful solo artist in pop music. I don't agree with those saying she doesn't have star quality - I think all five members of Girls Aloud have it (whatever 'it' is) because they were successful in part for their personalities (hosting TV shows dedicated to them for example)... I think the reason Nadine's failed is because of her out of date music and her very limiting record deal decision. Cheryl, conversely, has been a success because of the X Factor - she can convey her personality on the X Factor for a quarter of the year, every year, be constantly in the headlines and generally receive a much warmer reception to her music, despite Nadine's (apparently - I've not heard much of it) being superior.
