When cher actually sings...

She has a lovely voice.

I thought stay was a bit overrated, but her singing tonight (ignoring the ridiculous mockingbird bit) was great i think. Such a shame she wont just sing a song more often instead of insisting on attempting to rap. Before anyone tells me shes a great rapper too, go compare her to some other rappers then get back to me, her rapping is a joke.

But...I could actually grow to like her if she sang more I think :)

Would have to agree, and she also does the same left leg kick once she's (c)rapping.

Her rapping and singing is

nanaimo 13-11-2010 09:06 PM

go listen to original song and you will see she butchered it, don't think she has a great voice and she needs the (c)rapping to take our minds off her weak voice.

Stacey. 13-11-2010 09:07 PM

I love her singing and her rapping :')

But you need to call the number in my signature Vicky to hear more of her singing so get calling :)

I have heard the original before, many times. And still liked cher singing it.

What on earth makes you think I wouldnt have heard it before?

nanaimo 13-11-2010 09:09 PM

i meant in general not at you directly

Erm no thanks.

I don't like her that much, just saying her actual singing voice is nice. I would probably support her if she stopped all the rapping and trying-to-shit-a-coconut 'dancing'

Pyramid* 13-11-2010 09:10 PM

The only song she has sang all through the show that she's been any good at all the way through the entire song was the week she sang,"Stay".

It's not exactly the best track record - one song out of how many songs so far......!

Lewis. 13-11-2010 09:10 PM

I've liked her a lot more now that she sings. She doesn't seem like a typical cocky teenager anymore, there's something about her.

No avoiding the swear filter. :nono:

She sounds like a little girl. She cuts off most of the notes and as for that little squeaky accent that she puts on everything - its irritating. She's no great singer and she categorically cannot rap. If she wins then she'll be the least talented winner of all time. Even worse than Steve Brookstein and Leon Jackson. I've said it before, she's not an artist she's an impressionist.

i dont think the elton john theme suited her tbh,but then again she aint the only one that i think suffered tonight.

Replace the child with parent, and it fits what I am.

She ruined a beautiful song with the near rapping sequence bit, spoiled the whole performance but first part of the song, she did sing really well, then she just went off and lost the mood of this great song.

As she does, week after week.

LOVE this post. I've been wondering what's wrong with me, that I haven't noticed Cher's miraculous transformation from chavvy, embarassing crap artist to vocal supremo. Girth's bang on. She does all this vibrato rubbish that disguises - apparently successfully :conf: the fact that she cannot get anywhere near the high notes. Her version of a high note is to screech it and shake the s***e out of it until it surrenders. Or else she cries at the appropriate moment. And I also think she's the smuggest, most loutish 17 year old I've seen on TV for some time. Would still avoid any alleyway containing Cher with great haste.

Kaaarenn! 14-11-2010 01:54 PM

It's nicer when she just sings but when she breaks off into the rapping again, it's annoying and sometimes ruins the song.

It's because you've not endeared yourself to the gurning, arrogant, up her own arse, polyfilla face covered, stoppy, teenage, chav singer...innit. Pfft. :elephant:
