Surely theres no way she can win unless they started discounting votes for other acts. I wouldn't put it past them tbh.

It would be an epic tale if the Great One came through. Think Joan of Arc and David and Goliath:joker:. She has her detractors, many on this forum, and the red tops...The Sun and Star run an anti-Katie headline almost daily.

Her fame or infamy has secured her future, but how fantastic if the Great one can win through. Please vote Katie she deserves our sympathy after the trashing she has received.

Much more interesting than going for Wagner as the anti-establishment vote. Katie's survival is now a National topic of conversation and one suspects the press love her too really. ( she can shift more papers than the rest of them put together)

It's not going to happen, no act who's been in the bottom 2 has ever gone on to win the show so I doubt Katie, who's been there 4 times and is heading for a record 5, has a chance in hell!

Those who think this is just a contest of vocal ability are wrong. She is the most interesting thing that has happened to the Xfactor. and the bonus is that she can sing if cheryl would just give her something decent like what the girl choices herself on the sing off.

A reputation sticks and then you don't get a fair hearing when you do sing well. When she gets it right, as on Sunday, it becomes one of the performances of the series. I doubt any of the contestants would have made a good fist of Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting, perhaps she is being given tough songs because of her superior vocals.:joker:

It's not really an Opinion that you think she can't sing when she is obviously singing.. what else do you think she is doing?

well if that's the case then everyone can sing and I will rephrase what I said, she can't sing very well.

The one thing she certainly isn't is a 'dark horse' lol......she would push to the front of a queue of one.

Everyone can sing.. some better then others.. it's still singing though.. Katie can obviously do it better then most of them judging from this video

She sang ok that time, she is usually rubbish, hardly something to be jumping for joy about.

But she can sing. You might not like her style or tone of singing, or her vocal range - but she can sing. You have to look at it objectively. I didn't like John Adeleye [mainly because he was dull], but when looking at it objectively, he had a strong voice. Whether someone can sing or not is not an opinion - whether you like it or not is, but whether they can or not isn't.

I fail to understand how anyone could suggest she can't sing after watching the video Novo just posted...

I know - but there's a subjective opinion and then there's an objective opinion. With singing, you have to look at it objectively.

When she does her first album (no longer a case of if) she will do what she is best at...slow and soulful. I love her voice and though we have jokes about the Great One being grating that certainly doesn't apply to her voice. It is very easy and smooth. Grating is Treyc trying to belt it out.

well, if you read my previous post (which I'm sure you did as you quoted it) you will have read me saying "I will rephrase that"

and I said she sang OK that one time.

Everyone can sing, it doesn't mean they are good at it.

I don't like her voice Jack and I don't think many people do.

That might happen because as for now, people are hating on her but she'll get more popular due to the "sympathy" thing after the hate. That happens a lot in reality-TV. Watch out for her.

Jay-Z is reportedly hoping to sign up Cher Lloyd and Katie Waissel to his record label after The X Factor finishes.

According to the Daily Star, both girls have impressed the US hip-hop star with their performances and he is considering offering them contracts with his European Takeover Roc Nation label if they fail to win the show.

Okay, let me rephrase it. Singing well is not a matter of opinion - well, subjective opinion that is.

...and there we go - that's the subjective opinion. The objective opinion is that she can sing well, but the your subjective opinion is that you don't like her voice [or her style of singing], but the objective opinion is that she can sing well.

Katie can sing, just because you dont like somebody doesnt mean you cant admit they can sing...

I hated Aiden's voice but knew he could sing, well, sometime [Mad World].

If ,as widely reported, she got one third of the Treyc vote two weeks ago and therefore possibly as little as a quarter of the Aiden vote; then her star is rising. Either she quadrupled her vote or (very unlikely) Aiden's collapsed.

The Great One has momentum, if this forum is anything to go by she is gaining sympathy still. This is a great epic of a dead woman walking to the gallows four times and a howling mob of blockheads calling for her head. I think some of us are alive to the possibility of a wonderful turn around.

It's just a case of some people believing that their subjective judgement is the correct one, when in actual fact whether someone can sing or not has to be looked at objectively.
