Pyramid* 03-12-2010 10:41 PM

I thought when they said "finally it was the cold ... " I took that as being a 'gentle' way of saying the wee one snuffed it.

Great clip though !

Ooopss... should learn to read the spoilers first ....sorry folks. :(

Niall 03-12-2010 10:43 PM

That was the saddest thing ever. Oh well now I'm already depressed I may aswell go and watch the rest of Threads now I'm in that mood :bawling:

Lee. 03-12-2010 10:54 PM

Oh my god! Cutest thing ever. I don't want to know if the monkey died though :(

Smithy 03-12-2010 10:54 PM

^It did

Lee. 03-12-2010 10:57 PM

Oh for ****s sake!! Thats a horrible clip then!

Well, still extremely cute but sad!

Why would the camera man let him die?! I'd save him!

Smithy 03-12-2010 10:57 PM

Oh ya, coz walking up towards a leopard to take its surrogate baboon is a good idea D:

Tranquilise the leopard first..not difficult

Smithy 03-12-2010 11:04 PM

well you didn't say that :nono:

And if you tranquilize it, it might go mad and hit the baby

MTVN 03-12-2010 11:07 PM

Aww that was quite cute actually

Dart it when its away from the baby! It'll fall in seconds, run in,get the baby and takeit to a nice safe monkey sanctuary somewhere. Easy as that!

Smithy 03-12-2010 11:10 PM

Because camera men carry tranquilizers on the off chance off having to save a baby baboon

Yeah because they film those big dangerous cats without men on standby with tranquiliser guns..

Smithy 03-12-2010 11:13 PM

They do, haven't you seen the making of... [insert show name here], they film from really far away with a super zoom on the camera

MTVN 03-12-2010 11:14 PM

I think if there was an easy way of saving it they would have done, they're there to make a documentary first and foremost and probably wont be in the best position to conduct a wildlife salvation mission

Niamh. 03-12-2010 11:15 PM

if they were to intercept on every potential loss of animal, they'd have a whole zoo

Lee. 03-12-2010 11:16 PM

No, I haven't seen that particular show..

And yeah,I understand zoom lenses, but when I watched the making of [every nature programme ever filmed] there are always vets and medical folk on hand and they do indeed have tranquiliser guns at the ready in case of a fracas...

Benjamin 03-12-2010 11:20 PM

Awwwww that was sweet?

Did the baby die from the cold? :bawling:

Lee. 03-12-2010 11:20 PM

Aw geez! I've seen enough wildlife programmes to know that it is not feasable to rescue every animal that is about to meet his/her maker!

I'm just saying that this was a particularly poignant clip, and if I had been filming, I would have been tempted to steal the baby and save it.. that is all.

Does every light hearted thread need to be turned into a drama? Christ!

Yea

Malza 04-12-2010 01:22 AM

It was quite obvious that the baby would die, but heartbreaking how the leopard acted.
A really unique and unexpected behaviour.

I guess the film team was "hoping" for more film material of this unusual couple the next day, so they just left nature it's way.

Also, it's sad, but it's how things go in the wilderness, they can't save all motherless baby animals :( They are just there to observe.

Thanks for posting that video

Patrick 04-12-2010 01:39 AM

Oh it sounds like a good storyline for Eastenders or something.

So the leopard walks up to the buffoon and slaughters it.
In a shocking twist the buffoon's baby crawls out.

The baby basically bitches about the dead mum and goes and runs off with her killer, I bet the mum is so proud that her son just abandoned her like that.

I was personally waiting for the baby to bite the leopard in the throat when it wasn't looking and shout 'THAT'S FOR MUM YOU *****!'

But no.

So then the gang of Hyenas come and the Leopard, Who I've decided is the Animal Version of Mad May from Eastenders,

http://www.pinknews.co.uk/images/madmay.jpg

Realises it needs to kiss up to the baby before it realises the truth, that the Leopard murdered it's mum. [Who is the Animal equivalent to Dawn from Eastenders]

So the leopard saves the baby's life and goes to fight the Hyenas like man.

The Leopard takes the baby in and it grows up with it.

As the baby becomes abit older they are out in the wild having abit of fun with the other animals.

Suddenly a Elephant comes along to the tree and the Leopard asks who it is.
The Elephant drops the biggest 'Doof Doof' in Animalenders so far, He's the Baby's dad.

The Elephant decides to take the baby and wraps it's trunk around it.
The baby pleads to stay where he is, 'MUM! HELP ME!' He shouts to the leopard.

The leopard cries and facepalms, knowing there's nothing he can do.

The Elephant tries to take the baby once more,
'MUM TELL HIM!' The baby yells.

'I CAN'T I DON'T HAVE THE POWER!' Shouts the leopard.

The baby breaks away from The Elephant,
'WHAT? YOU CAN TELL 'EM WHAT TO DO! YOU'RE MY MUVA!'

There's a pause and the other animals all stop and look.

'NO I'M NOT!'

The Leopard shouts, The truth is out after all these years.

The baby finally goes with the dad and after a year, Asks his father what happened to his real mum and if he can go and find her.

The dad who I've decided is kind of like Archie Mitchell, tells her that her real mother is dead and was killed by The Leopard.

Meanwhile,
The Leopard is chilling out at night back on top of his tree, as seen on the video.

Suddenly the baby comes.

'You killed my Mother, You ******ing Bitch' He shouts.

The Leopard stands up and a argument erupts until finally,

The Baby runs towards the Leopard and throws him off the tree.
The Leopard hits the grown with a thud and the baby stands over his dead body looking at it in disgust.

Doof Doof Doof Doof...

^ :laugh2: Patrick!!

Ah yeah I should mention that the killing of the baboon and the end of the video aren't cute  but the fact that a leopard took pity on a little baby baboon, saved it from certain death at the hands of a hyena and snuggled up next to it has to be one of the nicest things I've ever seen on a wildlife video. I'm gutted that the baby died but I guess it was inevitable. I was totally hoping for a real life Lion King sort of scenario! :(

Kind of shows what is wrong with the human race really. If Animals didn't need food to survive, they would probably all live in peace. Can't say the same for humans.

Dear me. Somebody lives in Disney fantasy world!

Animals kill each other for many reasons other than food. Have you never seen dogs fight? or cats? Thats not about food its about territory and dominance.

Marc 04-12-2010 10:09 AM

Greg. You sick boi

Novo 05-12-2010 05:39 AM

That baby Baboon died a lasting painful and lonely death

and a few minutes after he died a pack of 12 Hyena's came and ate him and then rounded on that tiger thing and ragged it to bits
