Would You Use an Ouija Board?

Some people won't touch one. Some find them harmless fun. Would you? And do you think it's all a load of crap or that you can actually contact the dead?

Vicky. 07-12-2010 12:09 AM

I would, and I think its a load of bollocks too. Just a bit of fun between friends.

I don't believe in ghosts or anything like that :)

Ramsay 07-12-2010 12:09 AM

id love to
cant find anyone to do it with me though :(

InOne 07-12-2010 12:10 AM

I have done in the past. One of the girls got really upset, felt pretty bad for her :/

Josy 07-12-2010 12:11 AM

I would, when I was younger we used to do it with the homemade ones.

Kerry 07-12-2010 12:12 AM

I've only ever had two experiences with one. Once when I was about 10 and a family friend had her mates over. I saw the glass move and stuff but me and my mate were ushered off. The other time was my cousin and Nan. My cousin claimed my Grandad was getting intouch. They stopped pretty quick.....

Beastie 07-12-2010 12:12 AM

Yep I got one. A proper slate one. Used to do it more so a few years ago. A few people got upset and the board got a bit nasty. People got scared and everytime the board got nasty I had to put it away. Not been on it in a while. Want to go on it again though with whoever wants to go on.

Zippy 07-12-2010 12:13 AM

can you get one from Argos?

I'd have a go.

Ramsay 07-12-2010 12:17 AM

Kerry 07-12-2010 12:19 AM

See I love spooky stuff but I'd probably sit there screaming

Benjamin 07-12-2010 12:20 AM

Have used one and would never touch the thing again, playing with bad karma.

MTVN 07-12-2010 12:21 AM

I'm really cynical about this sort of stuff, I dont really believe it at all so I think I'd give it a try

Kerry 07-12-2010 12:22 AM

Have to admit, I wouldn't have one in my house

InOne 07-12-2010 12:24 AM

I think if I believed Ghosts exist then I'd have to consider God. And I'm a stone cold Atheist

Tom4784 07-12-2010 12:24 AM

I wouldn't waste my time with one, they're pointless.

Zippy 07-12-2010 12:42 AM

GypsyGoth 07-12-2010 12:53 AM

On QI they said that they were once the most popular board game people played, I forget why they said they went out of fashion and got a spooky rep.

Something about if the glass leaves the board or smashes the spirit escapes

Not really. If ghosts/spirits exist, it doesn't mean a god is the reason behind it. Could be perfectly natural.

Angus 07-12-2010 05:41 AM

Many years ago my brothers and I found a ouija board at the back of the cupboard in our recently moved into new home - we used it once, but got so freaked out when the glass moved by itself that we never did it again, and we threw the board away. We experienced some weird stuff after that, things being moved, footsteps etc, but it's anyone's guess whether this was just auto suggestion or something supernatural.

As for needing an actual ouija board - that isn't really necessary - it's easy to make a homemade version - just 26 letters of the alphabet, a smooth table and a glass - go on, I dare you:wink:

What complete utter balls!

Nothing irritates me more than people who think they can see ghosts or communicate somehow to other 'spirits'. That and elvis impersonators.

Never knock what other people have done and seen,It may irritate you but fact is always stranger than fiction and strange things DO happen as for a Ouija board,I would never ever.

LOL - have to agree with the elvis impersonators.:joker:

I've never actually seen a ghost or communicated with the the spirits, but there have been things I have seen and heard that have been inexplicable to me and others I have been with at the time. Just because something can't be seen, touched or heard doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I like to keep an open mind till something is proved conclusively right or wrong - history and science should have taught us that much.

Do people actually think the spirit is in the glass? trapped inside like some kind of invisible fly

I can honestly say that I have never believed in ghosts and I do not think they exist. However spirits of family members lost do help to comfort people and I know people who often say stuff like they feel their brother/sister/mother etc. is with them. I don't dislike that type of open minded'ness. But I cannot stand the stuff like Most Haunted Live and stuff, it is a complete farce!

Livia 07-12-2010 02:32 PM

I would absolutely and categorically not have one in my house.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 07-12-2010 02:33 PM

ive tried one and it didnt even work >_>

i did buy it from ebay though so thats probably why :L

Smithy 07-12-2010 03:05 PM

I would, although, if anything happened I'd probably scream the house down :joker:

'Conor 07-12-2010 03:12 PM

NO

id die if it actually moved

Lee. 07-12-2010 03:25 PM

100% not! Never have, never will and I would NEVER let anybody do it in my house or in my presence.. those sort of things should not be tampered with :nono:

zotler. 07-12-2010 03:32 PM

I really don't believe in ghosts or anything like that - however, I probably would try one for the experience. To me it seems too likely that someone else is moving the glass, like one of the people you're doing it with. :\

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 07-12-2010 03:32 PM

i just love the thought of these badass spirits though i want to be friends with them

Patrick 07-12-2010 03:39 PM

People who don't believe in this kind of stuff are ******ing stupid.

You CAN Contact the dead using them.
They ARE Evil.
They SHOULD NOT be touched or used.

There is other ways of contacting the dead, more harmless ways and more ways that can bring good to you than evil.

The Ouija board is not one of them, you can find yourself attaching a demon to you.

No.

It is worked and functioned by Ghosts, and can lead to disastrous results for example,

You could end up finding something out or something that's going to happen, that you wish you never knew.
