The big thaw is coming.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be extremely mild and most snow will be gone by Saturday I think.:elephant:
Oh hello everyone btw.:xyxwave: |
Hi there and welcome - not sure which part of the country you're referring to there, but I honestly can't see the depths we have in Scotland being wiped-out by a few slightly milder days Slush and the reformation of ice overnight also tend to make just as dangerous here.
Also, did you notice this thread about suggesting a false dawn weatherwise? http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/foru...d.php?t=168600 Anyways - here's hoping you're correct :) |

Oh Hi!! :xyxwave::xyxwave: Always nice to see new members on a forum..... but I have to ask... Source please...... |
I'm totally happy with that, if it will get rid of all the horrible ice here.

Suppose so Tom. It's quite ironic how everyone looks forward to snow with the onset of winter, then as soon as it arrives we all suddenly remember what a pain in the arse it is.
Memories like goldfish! |

To be honest I don' think I would mind so much if we had just had a long hot summer but it doesn't really seem that long since last years snow and then a very short, wet summer! :( |
Hi and thanks for the welcome everyone. I got the information from the BBC weather site.:joker::blush:

so you did not |
I want the snow, ice and sh!t to go away now please.

Seconded. !! |
The snow needs to come back again
Ice will do though |
We would need desert like weather to dispose of the snow thats here :bored:

The bloody tractors keep coming round here making everything worse...piling the snow into mountains in the middle of the roads, and leaving the ice there...surely its better trying to drive on snow than on ice D: It was quite funny yesterday though...they came round piling the snow up again. The neighbour had spent about half an hour digging his car out. The tractors then deposited the snow right behind his car  He was fuming and I stood laughing, dont like him anyways :p |

Like him or not, I think I'd have laughed too. Saw it happen years ago now though, one of those 'not funny, but very funny' situations!! |

If its above freezing it thaws (not too difficult to understand is it?):xyxwave: And the warmer it is, the quicker it thaws. |

Not Mild just 4. Also this is not for long as the bitter cold returns. |

Jobsfortheboys: - you took a bit of flack on this thread, but I have to say.... you've been spot on to a certain degree.
Although the huge piles of snow are still around,..... it's slowly getting back to green trees, and snow on roads gradually dispersing and quickly.... one more day will make all the difference I'm hoping. :dance2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: |

Nobody believed me.:bawling::bawling::bawling: |

Seeing as I'm the biggest cynic around..... I can't condemn them too much.... |
we had heavy snow on the south coast finally. Very thick and the pavements thick with ice and slush 2 days later. Thought it would be like that for weeks.
But then.....it rained overnight and the next morning it was all cleared up completely! Just all vanished. So yeah, rain does the trick. |
