The only thing he has against him is the X Factor contract and the fact we now won't hear a peep until Xmas next year. Otherwise I can't see why on earth he would?? His voice is amazing

I don't think so, this is the first year since Will Young won Pop Idol that I really loved a contestant enough to vote and to actually buy their music after, and Will Young did very well so I'm going to trust my judgement on this one Joe!

No, he WILL flop. He wasn't the star of the show this year, he's actually painfully boring and there is not much they can do with him. He's not diverse, he'll fail.

Dunno about anyone else but I think he'll flop because he shares the same traits as each of the other male winners. Steve's fanbase, Shayne's voice, Leon's cute appeal and Joe's consistency. I don't know if that makes him into a winner who will succeed, or a summary of what doesn't appeal... (I don't know how best to word that, I hope people get what I mean though)

I think he will flop. I hope he doesn't, he deserved to win it just as much as Rebecca and One Direction, but that's my instinct.

Well I'd have agreed with this until I saw the voting figures, topping the votes every single week apart from Week 1 shows just how big his fanbase is... Most other winners only top it about 3-4 times

Looking at past flops he certainly fits the bill!

Rebecca, Cher and OD will do better....I'd wager good money.

A voice doesn't mean anything these days, especially on a show like X factor.

I think he's very different to those contestants you named though Greg, they only one out of the list who I liked out of those was Shayne but even for him I didn't like him enough to vote, he's more Will Young then any of those

He doesn't though,the others were just pretty boys who stood there and sang,Matt puts emotion and passion into his songs and feels them,he also plays the guitar and has been working at this for several years,he has a natural talent and his voice is fantastic

Matt has all the potential to carry on a constant success. He doesn't need to quickly exploit X-Factor with a hit single and hope he can repeat it. (most need this).

What people haven't considered is that Matt is still a work in progress.. or rather yet to be perfected. He will win the investment in those aspects and do the work. It will pay off in the long run.

ALOT of people would completely disagree with you about that Joe!

All I can say about Matt is that I never ever vote in these things yet did for him. I never ever buy the winners single yet will be his. I never buy the albums yet will be his. And I've never ever wanted to see any of them live but want to him
