Tea...

Why does it help you sleep if you drink it late, but wake you up on a morning :S

InOne 18-12-2010 10:48 AM

I've been addicted to tea lately. A cuppa seems to solve all. Maybe it's more the psychology of it relaxing you.

This is so true.

I never used to drink it at all. Now I cant seem to function properly without a cuppa and a fag on a morning :L

InOne 18-12-2010 10:51 AM

*goes to make a cuppa*

Tea and coffee stain your teeth just like every other drink so i just drink water now/hot water instead of tea or coffee.

You can get your teeth cleaned and whitened though.

And I prefer coffee, never been a big tea drinker. Give me a double espresso anyday.

Stacey. 18-12-2010 12:08 PM

Tea made me feel sick the first time I tried it, never had any since D:

well its not that I dont know how to, its just that I have no idea how I would have it, how long to leave the bag in etc D:

BB_Eye 18-12-2010 12:35 PM

I tried to drink Rooibios (which is caffeine free) on a nighttime, but I've come to realise that it's vile.

I'm sensitive to caffeine so couldn't even drink something like sencha or white tea before bed (love them both though).

On a morning, if I can't be bothered with a strong coffee, then nothing beats a blend of Assam, Darjeeling, Ceylon and Kenya Tea.

Tea doesn't help you sleep. It contains caffeine which is a stimulant. Coffee contains much more though.

Herbal teas can help you sleep but I suspect you're more of a PG tips girl. Or maybe you have lots of milk in it and not a lot of tea?

But read any advice about sleep and they will tell you not to drink tea or coffee late at night before sleeping.

Jack_ 18-12-2010 12:36 PM

Coffee >

Tea's dull.

Could be a caffeine addiction. A friend of mine is like that and just drinks instant cappuccinos late at night like it's nothing.

Yeah probably a mixture of it being comforting and habitual. Plus when your body clock is set to sleep at certain times I think you'd need a lot of caffeine to interfer with it.

D: You got me paranoid now

I do drink a lot of pepsi and that through the day :laugh2:

And remember warm milk releases something into your body to help you sleep..
