Would You Emigrate?

Just wondering if any other members are considering emigrating somewhere down the line in their future or if it's just me.

Niall 19-12-2010 09:02 PM

I would emigrate but only to another english speaking country.

I wouldn't mind living out in the U.S. :)

Kerry 19-12-2010 09:06 PM

Yes, though I'm not ready for it at the moment. I love England. But I'd consider Canada or Australia

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 19-12-2010 09:07 PM

yes Spain has been calling me since I was a little girl.

Pyramid* 19-12-2010 09:41 PM

Having benefitted from living abroad .... it's one of the best things anyone can do - for a range of reasons.

Got to say, I still hanker for the life of an ex-pat but too far down the line now to consider it again.:bawling:

All I can say to any of you who think about it .... TRY it!! Some love it, some don't but you'll never know until you have a go yourself.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 19-12-2010 09:42 PM

im coming to australia with you

MTVN 19-12-2010 09:46 PM

Ideally, I'd love to live and work in the USA. Ideally..

In reality, it's a lot easier just to stay in the UK I think, I'll probably stay here but if the oppurtunity ever came to emigrate to the States I'd definitely look into it, I'd have to be sure it was a wise move though

Princess 19-12-2010 09:52 PM

I'm moving to England when I'm older no matter what. Although it doesn't really feel like emmigrating,it is only across a little sea.

ILoveTRW 19-12-2010 09:55 PM

The faster I get to America the better.

Tom4784 19-12-2010 10:06 PM

I've not got much interest in other countries outside of Holidays. I'd move to a quieter place in the UK though, like the countryside but not too far away from civilisation

james130 19-12-2010 10:11 PM

I spent a month in New York and it was the best time of my life.
Will definately move out there at some point :')

InOne 19-12-2010 10:18 PM

Almost ended up living in New Zealand. Was there around half a year. Had good and bad times but I realise how hard it can be to fit into another culture, and how not everyone will embrace you. It was weird getting to go back to your own country.

Think I'd really have to like the place and be in some sort of community there, England has many faults, but it's still home.

Travelling is amazing, I would recommend to anyone if they have the opportunity and no ties - just do it!!!!

Iceman 19-12-2010 10:41 PM

I wanna refocus on leaving here after Xmas was silly to try and organise it beforehand.

GypsyGoth 20-12-2010 12:36 AM

I've thought about it but I'm not sure I'm resourceful enough. I do want to travel a lot of places though.

Callum 20-12-2010 12:40 AM

Yeah I'm going to live in Orlando, Florida in a few years time if all goes to plan.

Mystic Mock 20-12-2010 12:40 AM

tamworth is like a different country to england, but its a bit un pc for the reasons why.

but im not racist i just dont think illigals should stay in this country.

Jords 20-12-2010 10:04 AM

I always said no, as my parents wanted to emmigrate to Gran Canaria (Id still say no to that still, its only a small bloody island, nice for a holiday but thats that). But yeah I would now.

Angus 20-12-2010 12:36 PM

I would emigrate in a heartbeat if I had enough money and if I could persuade my sons to come with me, and somewhere like Canada or New Zealand would be my choice, particularly as I have relatives in both those countries. As things stand I could never move too far away from my family and friends.

Niamh. 20-12-2010 12:39 PM

Not while the kids are at school but in the future I'd like to live in Spain

Malza 20-12-2010 01:53 PM

No, that never crosses my mind, I have a good life where I am, so why leaving.

Kazanne 20-12-2010 02:35 PM

I've lived in New York and would happily emigate there,it's my fave place in the world, maybe when the kids are older I would consider it.

Ninastar 20-12-2010 02:46 PM

Yeah I probably would

bbfan1991 20-12-2010 03:01 PM

No:).

Are we the only country that has the NHS? That is the only thing I worry about. If you get ill in this country usually your hospital bills are free because of the NHS! Plus we pay taxes and that so if I ever do get ill I hope I get treated fine after the tax I have to pay! In other countries you have to pay for your own hospital bills etc.. mmm.

I do quite like England. This weather is depressing though. I am lucky to live in a nice-ish area. That is probably why? Mmm.. maybe from October/November until about February/March time I should live somewhere warmer! Like the USA, France, Australia! Etc..!

A lot of countries have universal health care. I think all EU countries are obliged to treat you for free anyway

BB_Eye 20-12-2010 05:58 PM

Given the prospect of four and a half looooooooooooonnnnng years under this shitty coalition government, a near identical opposition party that represents fuck all, our decrepid, risible public transport system, a health service that is more than happy to leave you to die, a criminal justice system that lets off psycho thugs with a slap on the wrist, ridiculous housing costs, sky high cost of education, unemployment, overpopulation, rude noxious people (and no, that's not a typo) and its beer swilling simpleton culture, I would be delighted to leave the country if the opportunity arose.

so you love this country then.:joker:

Lewis. 20-12-2010 08:42 PM

Not sure. I don't see the problem with England myself. Okay, it's obviously going downhill because of the economy... but as people have said - we have free healthcare here.

Marc 20-12-2010 08:44 PM

Australia.

Every time I think of that place my heart warms!

We 'pay' for healthcare through our taxes. Nothing in this country really is 'free'.

On topic if I was to emmigrate I would love to move to Turkey or the United States.

lostalex 21-12-2010 03:23 PM

i would never leave California unless i absolutely had to. Like if the Mexicans some how gain significant control and turn it into the same sh!thole as Mexico.

If thatdid happen, and i had to leave, then i'd move to Oregon. If Oregon went the same way, then i'd Move to Hawaii.

If for some reason i absolutely HAD to leave the United States, then the only other country i could imagine living in is Australia, because they are so well Americanized.

Canada is too cold and boring.
