Depends on your interpretation of better. With Heidi they achieved their first #1 single; but the song they did it with was a mash up of two other songs - was it luck, talent or timing? That's open to debate. I prefer the original line up, it astounds me how mature the album is and how the music really hasn't become dated even though it's 10 years old.

well like i did like the original line up, im just saying i prefered their style after siobhan left and they were more successfull (hence #6 No.1 singles, 3x multi platnum albums)

'Conor 29-12-2010 01:05 AM

other great songs that they have: Freak Like Me, Stronger, In The Middle, Red Dress, Denial, Wear My Kiss, Hole In The Head, Too Lost In You.

 Which is fair enough! To be honest, in my opinion, Heidi brought them success, it's only fair if she's the one who kills off their success too. I'm curious as to what on earth Heidi, Amelle and Jade are going to produce as a band.

like Sugababes have always been my fav girl group, and talent wise out of the 6 girls they are probably the best UK girl group, but if Siobhan was in the band still and Heidi hadln't joined the group would be no more me thinks, as the original line ups image wasnt really noticeable despite the music being good.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 29-12-2010 01:13 AM

the original line ups image was better because they were different and quirky :nono:

now they just look like hookers like every other girlband

Agreed. I think when Siobhan left, it handed control of the group over to Keisha, it's always been about Keisha really; in interviews she's always the one talking over the others and it seems to be her who drove both Siobhan and Mutya away from wanting to be in a band. I don't think she's the bully that people paint her to be, but I do think she's very controlling and it's her way or the highway; and I think Heidi and Amelle had had enough of it. I find the history of the Sugababes pretty interesting, there are a lot of things that have gone unsaid and it's always interesting to hear what little bits do eventually trickle out... I like Amelle, Heidi and Jade, I just find it a bit of an insult to call them the Sugababes when they have nothing in common with the original band.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 29-12-2010 01:16 AM

should be called saltsluts now

well if we want to get technical, the original Sugababes were on the london records label. They were then dropped from that label. Siobhan left. Mutya & Keisha decided to look for a new member so they got Heidi, they then signed with island. And to this day the Sugababes are still with island so technically Heidi is an original Sugababe on the island label, but i see what you mean. I will judge the 4th line up on the upcoming 8th album.

Meh, to me original means Siobhan, Mutya and Keisha; technicalities are technicalities but it was the three of them who were brought together as a band in the first place. I do think it was a bit unfair on Jade to be judged on album 7 material when all she was doing was covering parts that had already been recorded by Keisha. I can't picture how their music is going to sound, but I'll be interested to hear it.

I'm equally as interested to hear Keisha's solo material, and am hoping that Siobhan does release a 3rd album in 2011, and hopefully Mutya will keep going in music... they all deserve success IMO.

couldn't care less about Keisha. Siobhan said herself that Keisha bullied her, oh and in a recent interview the Sugababes said that they are going back to the sound of like Anglels, 3, Taller, Change era and have worked with lots of producers, and are taking their time with the album, not rushing it with big producers like Sweet 7.

"Sometimes we run for cover" lyrics go something like that
