Channel 5 Will Reveal Big Brother's Future In January 2011
 

Hello Members of TiBB,

I know I haven't posted on here in almost a month and this isn't really me returning either by the way guys, But I did hear some relatively big news regarding Big Brother and want to share it with you all as it appears not many people know about it, and why would they?
Most people have given up listening for news on Big Brother's future.

Anyway,

Channel 5 are going to be announcing their final decision as to whether or not they are going to be taking on Big Brother 12 very, very soon.

What I'm trying to say is, we will find out if Big Brother UK is ever coming back in January 2011.

2010 is so close to it's ending, so obviously January is just around the corner everyone.
This is going to be a big month because we as Big Brother fans are going to find out if our beloved show is ever returning even if it is to Channel 5, or if Endemol haven't found a buyer.

There's a person I talk to on FaceBook well actually, I don't really talk to her.
She spoke to me a few times in the Summer about Big Brother but that was the last I heard of her until the other day when she spoke to me again on FaceBook chat regarding Big Brother UK.

She said that we'll find out in January if Channel 5 are taking it on, What makes her so special?

She's the same girl that told me just under a week before it was announced, that Endemol and Channel 5 have 'stalled' in talks regarding BB12 and then of course she was proved right when other articles surfaced about that in September.


And it's also been mentioned on Wikipedia aswell, I know what you're thinking!

Like I said I haven't been on in a while, I just needed to sort myself out abit and had to attend some different counsellors and therapy, and stuff like that.

Although as I mentioned, I'm not sure if I'm coming back to this place but I just had a quick glance before posting this.. TiBB has been pretty dead!

Well i lost 2 of my annual favorite shows of the last 10 years, one was lost the was BB. My god i hope they take it on. But it won't be anything like how we know it if it does come back i would imagine.

Hopefully it is going to be good news but I just cant see it happening now tbh.

So there basically won't be an announcement then, as the deal fizzled out months ago. And thank god, BB needs a break - and C5 would just kill it off completely.

It will be back one day - whether in a couple of years or a couple of decades, but for now it needs to rest.

I reckon if they're waiting to announce the results then it must be leaning towards C5 acquiring it, otherwise they would just say it's not happening. Then again it's Wikipedia so I wouldn't take it seriously at all.

I'm torn on the idea of it coming back to be honest. Part of me is dreading the thought of no Big Brother during the summer, but part of me doesn't want it to come back and be completely different to how I love and remember it. That'd ruin the whole thing for me. I only want it back if all the important elements remain the same, and to be honest that does include Davina...which I can't see happening. So I don't know.

Old news - there's been word of a January C5 programming announcement for months.

It appears Channel 5 is going to become even more cheap and sleazy than it's ever been so I'm not sure I'd like to see BB on 5 now. I mean, just look at their new logo:

I hope Big Brother comes back, but if not I'd like to see The Golden Cage idea in action.

Channel 5 has slowly improved over the years and become more at home with the other 4 channels. But not quite got that something. Aquiring neighbours was a good move and BB would be a likewise comparison. Although a bit like a secondhand hand me downs. But that don't worry me. But there is going to be big dissapointment on the horizon me thinks.

Yeah, it's been known that Channel 5 are releasing their schedule in January for a while now but I didnt know that bit about Mediatel hinting it may still be possible and with Davina having to state that she wont come back it could hint that BB may be returning after all :D

It needs to come back THIS summer on channel 5. It needs a new presenter. (Yes I know, no one could compare to Davina but it needs a change). Series 12 should last no longer than 8 weeks. (2 months). It ALWAYS should be a vote to save. A simple little change like that could work wonders. The format should stay the same. They need to give the housemates plenty of booze, parties and a hot tub! woo!

Also I would love Celeb BB to come back. However if that happened looks like it won't be until January 2012. (Hoping Boy George gets on!)

Have patience people - if it comes back now on C5 or Sky it would last one year, two at most. Wait a few years and it'll probably last a good 5-6 years at least.

Yeah, I heard rumours about Channel 5 considering to run Big Brother. I really hope Channel 5 pick up on Big Brother, All i have thought about is Celebrity Big Brother for January. We can't lose Big Brother too. Let's just hope for good news.

I had a dream that I came onto TiBB and saw a thread which said Big Brother IS returning. :(

I said January.
It is the 4th, we have a long time to go but for all we know they could give their list of new shows this Saturday or tomomrrow, you never know.
I'm trying not to get my hopes up though.

I never saw any proof that C5 were gonna reveal the future of BB.

Big Brother isn't coming back. Why would you even want it back? Let it rest now.

Of course - it started badly but ended up brilliantly - loved James and the String Quartet ..... :amazed:

But why would Channel 5 make an announcement if they're not buying it.
If they were they'd have a press release to say "Big Brother is back on channel 5". But if they're not buying they wouldn't need to say anything, nothing's official.

Part of the reason the show became less popular is because it was stretched out past its prime. Let it rest for a few years at least I say.

They're due to announce their schedule for 2011 and what programs they're showing, basically people are just speculating whether Big Brother will be on that list or not

I've never really known a channel to announce a schedule. I'd have thought they just air random stuff and announce new shows every now and then. =/

Its because it got took over so I think its had a full reschedule.

Might be because Richard Desmond has only taken over recently, as far as I can tell 5 is still showing pretty much the same programs so maybe he's announcing what shows he's bringing to the channel :shrug:

We'll probably find out when they do this relaunch I think

I think we'll see advertising near the time of which BB12 would happen.

But I hope it's delayed for 2012.

Again, I said where I got my sources and even other members on the forum know that Channel 5 have been planning on releasing this information since November.

Because they've got a full revamp they're going to reveal what's coming up in the future.

From the Private Eye article on exactly how talks ended, I'll be VERY surprised if BB ever airs on C5. (I'll be surprised if it airs on any channel this side of 2015).
