Corrie's lesbian sex scene gets more complaints than EE's baby swap

For days EE have been bracing themselves for a huge backlash, but apparently the small bit of the sex scene in Corrie (ie seeing Sophie and Sian hugging ect in a blurred mirror) has attracted more complaints...though that may be down to the placement of the bible in the scene

It was a stupid scene. Juxtaposing it all with a bible as if to suggest they have something to be guilty about. :conf2:

It was because Sophie's been a Christian for years, and she took a vow, now thanksto events in her life, she's finding herself believing in the book less and les

Dirty Minxes

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 01-01-2011 02:20 PM

it was hardly a sex scene :S

Niall 01-01-2011 02:23 PM

No-one likes Corrie. http://www.greendaycommunity.org/For.../Dark/hmph.png Eastenders is so much better! :amazed:

I actually hate people who complain about gay sex scenes on telly. Some people need to get over the fact that people are gay.

exactly, those people who complained need to consider that maybe they're a little bit homophobic:nono:

Scarlett. 01-01-2011 02:34 PM

I also just realised, that that scene was aired around 10 minutes after the 9pm watershed (since Corrie started 8:40)

But Corrie is so ew. Its just a bunch of northerners complaining about stuff.

In EastEnders though, its more exciting! Omg I can't wait for tonights episode, Ronnie is gonna nick Kat's baby. :o

And I used to watch Hollyoaks but I haven't watched since that John Paul was in it.

Angus 01-01-2011 02:39 PM

Some people really need to get out more if they find something so innocuous so offensive.:bored:

Exactly. Its all the old intolerant hags complaining because they depicted love between to people of the same sex. Christ some people need to get a grip..

Smithy 01-01-2011 02:41 PM

They were kissing on a bed.......that's not a sex scene :/

Eastenders is depressing, Corrie is full of humour and drama:hugesmile:

lmao I know, I wonder if they got complaints the previous night when Tracey kissed David and brought him upstairs?? Oh no, they weren't the same sex:rolleyes:

EastEnders isn't always depressing! Kat and Alfie are actually really funny! Corrie bores me though. I was at my Nan's the other day and she sat down to watch it and I couldn't stand it. It was so dull. I'd rather stick with EE.

Yea, kat haemorrhaging and Alfie crying and praying for her survival was comedy gold :S

Nooo not that, I meant the two of them in the pub together or when Kat was giving birth! They were real funny.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 01-01-2011 02:57 PM

im watching EE now

lmfao @ bad romance playing when ronnie is about to switch the babies :joker:

Visage 01-01-2011 03:53 PM

I watched it a understood the scene to be more about the irony of the situation, i thought it was clever.

Sometimes I think I must be sad watching and loving my TV programmes, whether it be Corrie or The Vampire Diaries, however I would never see any reason to go out of my way to write and complain about something as daft as fiction.

Jords 01-01-2011 03:59 PM

:amazed:

Imagine if these complainers discovered Shameless or something!?

They probably wouldn't get past the first episode without fainting. :joker:

 Some people need to get a life, it's a good job that some don't watch Hollyoaks then as there is quite a bit of sexually implied scenes, then again some like to slag the show off without even watching it such is the snobbery:bored:.

yeah well thing about is, is that it most likely was to do with the fact that it was two same sex people rather than a man and a woman

Some are still stuck in the mindset where two same sex people in a relationship didn't happen at that time, it's sad really and they need to wake up to reality:(.

Scarlett. 01-01-2011 08:53 PM

It's funny, a few months ago people were saying because Corrie's a fifty year old soap, they wouldn't dare show a gay couple intimate, but so far, they've managed to show it better than Emmerdale xD

Patrick 01-01-2011 09:29 PM

:amazed: I love it!

She's so hot, I didn't know she was a lesbian? Does Sally know about this?
Oh my god, Brilliant.
I hope the next Soap Online Spin Off, is on PornHub with those two.

I expect EastEnders will get more complaints after tonight though but whoever complained about this scene needs to stop being idiots, It's sexy.

I would say Hollyoaks has done the most realistic gay storyline so far with John Paul and Craig, I didn't like this storyline and preferred the characters apart because I felt they worked better that way but in the end it made sense and they got their happy ending...

MTVN 01-01-2011 09:31 PM

It might not necessarily be because they're the same sex, it might have been because of the Bible or because the characters are supposed to be under 18 or something like that

Aye, though I thought Corrie did well with Todd & Karl

Agreed:).

Scarlett. 01-01-2011 09:38 PM

I wish they would bring Todd back full time, last time we saw him was 2007

I really liked Todd:D, shame Bruno got fed up of playing a gay character plus there was the fallout when Tina dumped him for Ryan...
