Have you ever been to a rave?

Most of you probably won't have, you're too young, but some members here must have been?

I mean a proper rave, in the middle of nowhere in the countryside/woods.

I miss going to these, not been to one since uni but I loved them so much.

Stu 25-02-2011 01:42 PM

Infected Mushroom. Raves. Christ that takes me back to a messy, messy place.

Niamh. 25-02-2011 01:51 PM

I always hated that music but I went to one once in London, it was a brilliant night, it was in some kind of warehouse. It ended at about 7am, the lights were switched on, the music stopped and everyone just quietly filed out the door, that was about the strangest part, a bit different to a drink fuelled night out at closing time!

Stu 25-02-2011 01:52 PM

We had a friends house in the countryside [not too far from the Blarney stone, actually] where he had this neat little concrete shed out the back. It was about the size of a large living room or something like that. Hooked it up on all sides with sub woofers mainlined through a mixing desk or my own synth, barricaded about 20 a time in there, and bombed skins of rizla wrapped around 2C-B.

Didn't happen often though. And we'd have to go to great efforts to create it. Cork isin't exactly known as being a fertile bed of illegal forest raves.

I DJ'ed a few of those lost weekends.

And this was always track number one.

Never saw any violence at a rave where alcohol wasn't the drug of choice.

Goyt valley a few miles outside the town where i live was the scene of many a great summer nights for me it still happens a few times a year it attracts some decent crowds.
If they manage to win the game of cat n mouse with the police and get a few hundred people there before they realise its happening then the police leave it alone its always a great night!!!

Josy 25-02-2011 02:12 PM

Yeah, those were the best night's out ever!

Josy 25-02-2011 02:14 PM

I actually still listen to some old rave tunes in the car sometimes  and I don't mean any of the pc dj mixed crap, I mean proper old rave tunes.

InOne 25-02-2011 02:53 PM

Yes, first time I went to one I threw a whitey lol Not good memories :bored: All the others I've been to have been decent though

Chuck 25-02-2011 03:04 PM

Yes!! I have been to 5 or 6 raves and except for the first one, There were all amazing and I had an absolute great time.

Jords 25-02-2011 03:04 PM

Nope.

Beastie 25-02-2011 03:10 PM

I have never been to a proper rave before! Would love to go to one. And rave about to classic rave tunes. Or rave about to classic dances tunes like from the lights of "Sonique". From the good old 90's era! :) Not some of the terrible music we have now with bloody chipmunks singing in the background!!

To be honest.. I am bored of alcohol. Well it's just I don't like much of it. I want to eat a lot of space cake while I am raving. Please can you make me one? Thanks! :D

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 25-02-2011 03:39 PM

If your in the north of england i may be able to direct you in the way of a decent outdoor party or 2 between may-september but they rarely come with more than 12 hours notice but still attract crowds of over 2000 :)

ROFL at the first line.

I went to one last year, it was for 13 - 19 Year Olds.
It was bollocks, the only good thing was that some of the 18 Year Olds would give you alcohol when you asked them.

Apart from that, the place was full of chavs thinking they were awesome.

There's 3 on this year because last Summer's was such a success, I'm not going.
Nothing but kiddie discos that brand themselves as raves.

I think our Paddy has only been to "Nappy nights" lol. I have never been to one of them. I remember my sister went to one when she was like 14 when she couldn't get into any "real" clubs!

I thought I would just wait to to to clubs and all that when I was 16 than go to a silly chavvy "Nappy night".
