Are Both Your Parents Still Alive?
 

Was just wondering who else has lost a parent and how old you were when it happened.

I lost my father when I was 4 years old.

No, none. 5 when my mum died. 10 when my dad did

Dad died when I was 10.

Hole in the heart. He'd lived with it since he was born but passed away when he was 29 :sad:

But dad I have no idea, im not in contact with him, but I think he is alive.

Lost dad about a year ago and couldn't care less :confused: so would've been 20. Can't actually remember the date

I still have both my parents alive. But I think I'd actually be an emotional wreck if one of them died. I get screwed up enough having to leave one, to go and see the other.

My mum died when I was 20.

Luckily I still have both my parents alive but I don't know how I'd cope if one of them died.

Yes, I've been really lucky that I've never lost anyone who's been really close to me

Fortunately never really lost a close relative or friend *touch wood*.

My mum had a disabling disease that left her in constant pain since I was about six, so we never really got to experience days out much, my mum died when I was 12

Both of my parents are still alive... I'm sorry for all of your losses, I can't imagine life without my parents :(

My mother died when I was 13, she had cancer for 4 years and was misdiagnosed three times.

My mum died suddenly aged 54 from a stroke, and my dad died five years later aged 61 from lung cancer. Neither of them lived long enough to see any of their grandchildren which always saddens me.

I feel like this too. I have both of my parents and I bitch and whine about them all the time. I didn't realize how much I take them for granted

mam still alive nown 76 had a heartattack about 25 years ago.

My mum's alive, my dad is dead. He died when I was 30. I had no contact from him most of my life until I was 21 when he contacted me, so I wasn't particularly close to him. I grieved forhim in my own way but I felt pty for him more than anything else as he missed out on seeing his kids grow up.

My Grandma lived with us most of my life so she was my 2nd parent. She passed away nearly 3 years ago and that hurt like hell :(

Well hopefully this government repfroms the health service.... when she first got referred she had to wait 5 months for the scans....and then it took 2 more years before diagnosis.... im sure she would have had a better chance had it not being for some peoples incompetance.
