Before you joined the world of online-dom....

......what did you do with your spare time?

Stu 31-03-2011 10:33 PM

They were the kind of days where I could play games and watch movies for hours on end. As much as I hate it I just don't get that anymore with the internet lying around. It's given us all horrible attention spans.

I used to be a right book worm. Still am to a degree. But as you say, you can't help being lured........ I'll sit with a book now and half my brains squirming..."am I missing something??" :bawling:

MTVN 31-03-2011 10:39 PM

Dunno really, I was about 10 when I got the internet I think, before then I probably read and played video games more, used to just go over the park and kick a ball around or play cricket or something as well, dont seem to do that as much anymore

Benjamin 31-03-2011 10:39 PM

Socialise, write, have fun (here is fun, but actual real life fun), be active...

Stephanie 31-03-2011 10:40 PM

i got internet when i was 7, i can't remember what i used to do before it.

Stacey. 31-03-2011 10:41 PM

I don't actually know, I can't remember. Just like go out every weekend and watch more tv and stuff I think. :s

Shaun 31-03-2011 10:45 PM

got a computer in 2005 - before then I was all PS2, N64 and going to the park.

Iceman 31-03-2011 10:47 PM

Drink lots and smoke lots, now I pace myself.... my younger years are catching up on me :(

Kerry 31-03-2011 10:50 PM

I was pretty late to it all. 2004-ish I think.

Used to be out a lot (though the 'net never changed that). When I think about it it all sounds pretty boring - life 'before' - but then what do people usually do? Skijump nightly?

Shasown 31-03-2011 10:51 PM

Murders occupied a lot of my time as did other crimes of violence against the person. Just realised I havent raped anyone on a while now.

LemonJam 31-03-2011 11:09 PM

N64.

Stu 31-03-2011 11:15 PM

Got the internet in 99. The first website I discovered was GameFaqs where I thought it was absoloutely the filthiest thing ever on par with hardcore porn discovering I could put cheat codes into all the Megadrive games I had put blood and sweat into.

It was a joy discovering a nerds paradise where people as weird as me thought enough about video game characters to write bios on them. The net still is a nerds paradise but it's gone all mainstream now.

I loved the days where even the biggest corporations around would have horrific, geocities esque sites.

Shaun 31-03-2011 11:27 PM

lmao geocities. I remember a site called something like "myfreeweb" or something...I tried searching for it for ages but can't find anything :(

Princess 31-03-2011 11:31 PM

Be miserable, write in my diary, listen to a lot of music. I honestly don't know how I survived without it.

Kerry 31-03-2011 11:59 PM

Final Fantasy 7 and Tomb Raider where always on here. Never played them, just watched and tried to help. I can't play games to save my bloody life. Used to have mates over quite a lot too. Got to a point though when I just wanted them to eff off by 2am though and give us some space!

Locke. 01-04-2011 12:18 AM

I joined here a couple of months after I finished school.. so school.

Callum 01-04-2011 12:26 AM

Can't really remember, I started at a young age but I used to love playing on my PS2 and hanging out with people from my street before I got hooked.

Suze 01-04-2011 12:27 AM

I can't remember how I wiled away some of the time before the internet

On a side note, anyone else have trouble viewing avatars on here? Or is it a TIBBs April Fools on us all :nono:

*Edit* Ignore that :joker: the avatars seem to have returned now :)

Lee. 01-04-2011 12:34 AM

I used to play my PS2 until I was almost hallucinating.. or read

Niamh. 01-04-2011 09:26 AM

Claymores 01-04-2011 09:35 AM

I sometimes wonder how on earth I ever managed to buy stuff before the interwebby thingamijig...........but anything that saves you having to queue-up in stores to buy Christmas gifts has to be a good thing.

As I hinted and Lee almost said, you can see technology is getting out-of-hand when you are in the back seat of a car in Germany just enjoying different scenery and the front seat passenger texts you with a silly jokey thing!!!!!!
