Do You Care About The Royal Wedding?
I personally think it's complete Bollocks and I hope something goes wrong on the day just to piss people off.
Like Dorothy's House falls from the sky and crushes The Queen or something or William gets Jilted - that would be hilarious. But I'm not sure if I just hold them views because of where I'm from. What do you lot in England think? I have nothing against Kate - I mean look at her. But the Media are taking the piss, and ripping the arse out of it. I mean I seen a PC World Ad last night with Union Jack graphics and a voice over saying; 'Everyone's celebrating the royal wedding, so are we - buy this Dell Laptop now.' I mean it has no relevance to PC World at all but they just put it in. Everyone should shut up about it, two people are getting married, big deal? It's not as if The Queen or the Royal Family do anything these days, everyone around the world knows they're only there for English people to look up to or hold as some important figure. I mean the way people have begun calling Kate 'Catherine' it's like, do me a favour! Oh and two questions: 1. When is the Royal Wedding? :bored: 2. Is it possible for them to have a divorce? rofl. So yeah what do you think? I'd like to hear from English people on this, I know people here can't care less about it - wondering if English TiBBers think alike? |

And yeah, the bit in bold would be hilarious. Me and gav were talking about that yesterday, like if kate gets caught shagging harry today or something...or has a huge argument with the queen :D |
I will be having a BBQ for it, Already got the british flags in

Em, I plan on watching a bit of it at least because it's not an event that happens all too often and I think William and Kate seem like a likable couple. While it's true that the Royal Family are becoming increasingly irrelevant to Britain today, I think it's a bit harsh to say they do nothing - doing charity work is always a commendable thing in my opinion.
|
I'll probably watch it or some of it, won't do anything else for it though, it's just like a normal day.
|
Not really, but it gives people another excuse to invite me to parties and barbecues, so am fine with it.
|
I'll be marking the occasion by getting drunk on whiskey and putting together a few car bombs, pausing only to shout '1916!' at random intervals.

That would be nice Wash the War Paint off the Thuggs that are going to cause trouble. |

No you can not say that as the New IRA are now getting destruction ready. |
Yeah me and the lads are gearing up for a daring assault.

Targets are now up.
The War is back. |
lol no it's not. You just want drama to populate your newsfeeds and enforce your polarized world view of 'me and all the great, lovely people vs. students and terrorists'.
|
I don't care much about it really, it sounds like it will be the great spectacle they always are though so it seems odd to me that some toning down of it publiclyhasn't been done which would have been good considering many people are being asked to bear so much as to cutting measures elsewhere.
I wish them both well and hope it lasts better than some other Royal marriages which have broken down after a lot of pomp and ceremony. Anne and Marks, Charles and Diana's and Andrew's and Sarahs. Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be another vast waste of money and police time. |
Hate William.
Love Camilla. So Maybe. |
as long as there's a public holiday I'm not complaining. I just couldn't give a toss. YAY anti-monarchism.

As usual your the dude at pointing out the obvious, Arista. Cheers. I'm well aware of the spinter groups of dissident republicans who are still commiting atrocities. But calling it a war is just fucking ludicrous.
|
no.
|
I will be watching it. People bleat on about how our heritage and culture are being eroded and then make a big thing about not wanting to watch a bit of British pageantry. People too cool to watch the Royal Wedding should have the bank holiday revoked.
|
How pathetic for anyone to feel the need to wish dreadful things to happen on a young couple's wedding day, irrespective of WHO they are. If people are not interested, it would be more believable that they're REALLY not interested, if they just didn't bother to comment, and allow those of us who want to celebrate an historic and joyous event to do so without snidey, spiteful and malicious comments. Such overt and vociferous dislike and malice smacks to me of pitiful attention seeking and an effort to appear "cool" when in fact it just comes across as cringingly sad and pointless.
If I'm not interested in something I wouldn't waste a single second of my precious time coming onto a public forum grandstanding about my disinterest! |
lol

Honestly I don't care. Many of my friends told me my anniversary with my girlfriend on the 16th of April was much more important day than this wedding. :joker:
But I'm not gonna knock it, we've got a day off. Should've bought that "thanks for the day off" t-shirt with a union jack on it when I saw it in Primark. :-/ Still though there's so many stupid little bits of merchandise on sale that like no one even wants. |
I can see the attraction of it in the most general sense of it being an 'event'. I'll probably watch it so I can talk about it and understand what others are saying about it and point and laugh at the funny bits and any potential TV fuck ups and all that.

I agree with Livia and angus; when I genuinely don't care about something I don't bother to comment or read about it further, I go out of my way to avoid it as best as I can. It's disrespectful to wish for something to go wrong on their wedding day, I'd be annoyed to say the least if people were hoping my wedding day went wrong in some way. I remember a thread from not so long ago about a lack of identity in this country; and yet people moan about the Royal Family being pointless when there are few things more quintessentially British than the existence of our Royal Family, whose lineage plays an important part in most of our modern history whether you like it or not. Not so long ago, saying some of the things people have said about the Royal Wedding (on here and in real life) would have been treason and would have been punishable as a crime - obviously times change, but I do think that the lack of respect that people show for such important figures is appalling, even if their role has diminished over the years. I dunno, it's not something I even feel particularly strongly about, I just don't like a lot of the disrespect I read on here because at the end of the day, Kate Middleton's definitely a regular person just like the rest of us, and I think that William's a very down to earth, nice guy too.
|
Not really. I'll probably watch some of it though out of curiosity.
My mum was like nearly getting upset because she has to go to work and will miss it, I was like '...what o_o' |
nothing more british than a royal family descended from Germans xxx
|
"Kate Middleton's definitely a regular person just like the rest of us, and I think that William's a very down to earth, nice guy too. "

Oh shape up you wet farts. Jesus fucking christ. Who cares if some kid wants something to fuck up live on air for stupid kicks? It's hardly translatable to real life wrath.
It's ~disrespectful! No it's not. It's just a dumb comment on a casual dress forum. Lord almighty. |
