TiBB Photography Competition 2011 >> The Final! [Winner Announced]

Two contestants remain - Jords and Shaun - who have given us some brilliant photos over the past 5 weeks, and have both done their very best this week in producing some top quality photos in the hope that one of them will win this award icon http://i51.tinypic.com/d0k1.png So let's see their last photos of the competition! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Jords - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Theme 1: Energy http://i51.tinypic.com/2n0r3u1.png Inspiration: Just 1 strike of a match creates a flame which gives out all of thermal, light and sound energy. But it’s just that slight burning flame that can cause a destructive blazing fire… quite amazing when you really think about it. I gave the photo a gothic edge to signal warning. Theme 2: Chaos http://i55.tinypic.com/2evwajr.png Inspiration: I really struggled with this theme. A traffic congestion or a massive crowd first came to mind but you don’t get much of either around here; so I moved onto ‘mess’ but I didn’t really know what. Then I remembered the abandoned shed pictures I took for the Buildings theme down the road but ended up not using them. It’s dirty, falling to pieces and I lowered the brightness to help enhance the derelict feel of it. Id say it looked quite chaotic. Theme 3: Animals (Contestant's Own Theme) http://i51.tinypic.com/2wp0507.png Inspiration: For my own theme I wanted to hand in a photo of something that I loved and 1 of them things are animals and especially my pets! This is our pup Herbie who’s a Basset Hound and I adore the pose he’s sat in - has right character! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Shaun - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Theme 1: Energy http://i54.tinypic.com/zy7m0i.png Name: Sparks Inspiration: I was basically experimenting with lightbulbs, which is commonplace for me, when I managed to take this shot and I thought the hot wire in the middle was quite an interesting picture. Theme 2: Chaos http://i55.tinypic.com/2v31q39.png Name: An eye-opener. Inspiration: I think the true meaning of chaos is challenging others' perceptions and doing something totally unexpected, and when it boiled down to it, nuns looking up gay-porn was really the most unorthodox thing I could muster. Theme 3: Life (Contestant's Own Theme) http://i56.tinypic.com/29cm1hf.png Name: The Waters of Life Inspiration: I was really struggling with ideas and went outside to find this old watering can. I thought it'd make a nice shot and decided that it represents life quite well... providing water and rusting away itself. Voting Details The contestants the forum members and judges will be voting for this week are: Jords Shaun Forum members voting = For each theme, give the name of the contestant who's photo you preferred (e.g. Theme 1: Username | Theme 2: Username | Theme 3: Username) Judges voting = Rate each photo out of 20, giving points to these 3 aspects of the photo - Originality (up to 5 points) Sticking to the theme (up to 5 points) and Overall quality of the photo (up to 10 points). Votes must be sent to me via PM. Judges and forum members are welcome to comment on the photos here, but don't give away who you are voting for. Voting will close tomorrow evening at 7PM. It was a particulary good shot - as you say: more than just a 'snap' - getting it prepped, trying it out and getting it just right to capture the theme - as I said, for my money - it was a fabulous shot, interesting, novel and right back to basics but with brilliant effect - with good thought put behind it. |
