Vote to Save Ruins CBB8

It's official.

If it was Vote to Evict then Darryn would have gone tonight. No question about it.

Stu 02-09-2011 08:58 PM

So it's ruined because the person you didn't want to go went?

Did it occur to you that other people with other favourites will think completely different? This is just opinion. Peronsally I think all it's proved is save or evict doesn't make the slightest bit of difference for the most part. It all depends on the eviction.

Sam:) 02-09-2011 09:01 PM

Completely disagree!
If it was vote to evict Darryn and Bobby would be gone, and lets face it CBB would be fcked without them

Maia 02-09-2011 09:02 PM

I wouldn't say it's necessarily ruined it, but it's barely been any different to vote to evict so far. Sally would've been out the first week in a vote to evict, and Tara still would've been out tonight. The only thing it's really done is get rid of Pamela.

CharlieO 02-09-2011 09:05 PM

*Endemol and Channel 5 ruined CBB.

The responsibility lies at the top.

Vicky. 02-09-2011 09:06 PM

Disagree completely.

Just because someone you like went, doesnt mean its ruined. Clearly the majority of people who actually voted will be happy with the result...

joeysteele 02-09-2011 09:06 PM

Vote to save is the best way to vote, I have wanted it for ages.

Also it rakes in far more funds for the show too.

Roy Mars III 02-09-2011 09:07 PM

Tara probably would have left with a vote to evict as well.

CaudleHalbard 02-09-2011 09:08 PM

Tara got the biggest boos. She would have gone even on a vote to evict.

I think that would have happened even with vote to evict. There were only 2 people up that week, so if people wanted to evict bobby, they would have just voted for pamela instead.

The only time it *might* change the outcome, is if theres more than two people up.

Jordan. 02-09-2011 09:14 PM

Still better than vote to evict but this result was terrible tbf.

karl100589 02-09-2011 09:25 PM

The issue I have is that vote to save was supposed to eliminate the deadwood at the first oppertunity, unfortunately because said deadwood happen to be 'fit' (Lucien and Bobby) they aren't leaving when they should be.

MeMyselfAndI 02-09-2011 09:37 PM

Vote to save is better & will save big characters. But i think No live feed & awful editing in the last 2 days swayed this result.

stickydatepudding 02-09-2011 09:37 PM

I have to agree it isn't working. It all comes down to who the producers choose to give air time to.

Bobby is not exactly deadwood. He was at the start, but he is actually quite interesting(in my opinion anyway) now

Lucien, I agree on. Hes pretty... but dull. Unfortunately BB viewers tend to fall for showmances, which is what he has going on now

Jack_ 02-09-2011 11:39 PM

No, it's made it a hell of a lot better. We've lost three fairly insignificant housemates, in other years we'd have lost three big characters, it's worked out extremely well and as a result it's remained entertaining. You might hate Darryn but I'm sorry, after Jedward he's another one that has caused friction in the house and well that's a good thing.

cookiemonster 02-09-2011 11:51 PM

no, this is the way it should be. well done channel 5.

sol 03-09-2011 01:16 AM

Vote to save is good. For years vote to evict was getting rid of entertaining housemates that stirred up trouble meaning we were left with popular housemates but also less entertaining housemates. Vote to save means we are left with popular housemates and entertaining housemates so it's win win in my opinion.

snookered 03-09-2011 01:18 AM

Swings and roundabouts.

keithafc 03-09-2011 01:23 AM

Darren is more interesting than Tara imo. Tara was just paranoid and all over the place. Darren at least is entertaining with some of the things he says and his scheming.

Colbert-Bump 03-09-2011 01:43 AM

Vote to save is the fairest way to stay in the house.

Kerry 03-09-2011 02:15 AM

They can't win. Didn't people want vote to save last year?

Just people spitting the dummy out because someone they liked has left.

If it was vote to evict and tara had gone, there would be hell on asking for vote to save.

As if every eviction would go everyones way

Mystic Mock 03-09-2011 02:35 AM

TBH I wouldnt trust C5"s votes as they dont reveal there % after the eviction, also Tara was topping all the polls by a distance, and yet she gets the least votes to stay.

C5 must think we are idiots, well they will know that they cant get away with this when the ratings for BB12,CBB9 and BB13 come around.

CharlieO 03-09-2011 02:38 AM

Guys why can't we just embrace the change. Like seriously when people are so negative it just brings the forum down. Guys we should all just chill yahhh

We can make this the summer of love.

Tara was the bookies fave to go.

And I expect the percentages will be released after the final too :)

The bookies still think like its a votes to evict.

And you mean when the series is over they have gone through the percentages in there head so it rounds up to 100% ?

Do not trust the results when they do not reveal the percentages, even ITV has learnt that.

Jordan. 03-09-2011 03:01 AM

IAC and XF don't reveal their % till after the final either. It'd damage the voting to knows whos out in the clear and who has no chance.

TBF they do bottom two systems so I understand why they have to wait until the end,but Big Brother only has to reveal the HM that came bottom of the votes percentage.

Seriously I dont see how BB has it that hard.

Kerry 03-09-2011 03:53 AM

I keep reading this thread as vote to save the ruins of CBB8

rusticgal 03-09-2011 09:54 AM

Completely disagree.... it shows the true picture. You vote for your favorite...simple.When its vote to evict out of say 3 people in order to save your favorite the followers of 1 person have their votes spread over two of the others and therefore does not show the true picture.

It should have always been this way... had it been we would have seen some very different winners over the years.

luvs2think 03-09-2011 01:41 PM

The bigger the change the harder it is to accept, but I'm sure we'll get used to vote to save eventually.

At this moment in time though, I personally don't like it at all. As someone else has said it's OK if there are only two up but any more than that and the only way you could get the same effect (possibly) would be to vote for all but the one you want to evict.

But on the positive side it'll make BB less fickle, it'll give BB critics less to complain about because it won't be as aggressive, and it'll give the underdogs a better chance.

Gillian-73 03-09-2011 02:20 PM

I'm glad it's vote to save, i've always wanted it.

Hi there. :wavey:

I think it will definitely bring a whole new dynamic to the game, particularly in that it will make fan clubs more important and make it less easy to get rid of someone just for one mistake (if they have a following). As someone who tends to support the underdog it could be just the ticket.

The only problem is it removes that 'justice' aspect and turns it into a race with no losers only winners. I.e. my least favourite HM at the moment, Bobby, could come in nth place but it's just not the same as saying 'what you did with the sweat was out of order'.

Jords 03-09-2011 03:13 PM

Theres 1 week left, it isnt a biggy although I am disappointed.

Plus Bobby would have gone, for sure.

Nikkos 03-09-2011 03:34 PM

A lot of these comments come down to personal like, if your favourite goes you claim the show is ruined. In my opinion vote to save gets rid of dead wood, which can never be a bad thing.

rSlavenx 03-09-2011 11:50 PM

Vote To Save has been begged for, and now people don't want it? Channel 5 are trying new ideas out and should be given a chance.
