Give brian a break.

Come on guys he is doing a good job.

I think he handled the eviction and taras strop really well. I liked the way he said. " oh no she didn't" or words to that effect.

He is doing a great job. Dare I say better than davinas firs series?

Anyone agree?

Jordan. 02-09-2011 09:52 PM

No bring back Davina

snookered 02-09-2011 09:52 PM

Nope.

Jake. 02-09-2011 09:54 PM

He says 'oh no she didnt' on every live show. Beginning to sound like a broken record

Vicky. 02-09-2011 09:58 PM

People are moaning about him cutting the interview short or whatever...do they really think that what he does is what he wants to do? of course not, he has some person shouting everything he has to do in his ear

CharlieO 02-09-2011 10:01 PM

No he isn't. He is doing crap and has become too big for his boots.

The only presenter who ever presented Big Brother is Davina.

Callum 02-09-2011 10:01 PM

No, we want Davina back!

billy123 02-09-2011 10:15 PM

Once the sour grapes have died down everybody will agree he is doing fine.
There are people in this thread that have been praising him that are now hating on him because their housemate went its all a bit silly.

Livia 02-09-2011 10:15 PM

I don't want Davina back. Brian is great, but even if he wasn't he'd still get my vote simply because he's not Davina.

Niamh. 02-09-2011 10:32 PM

I thought he handled it very well. I noticed a big improvement tonight and I thought that he handled that situation the only way he could.

I thought he was really good tonight as well, & he handled it the best he could at the end of the day, someone was obviously talking in his ear to hurry up & close the show, i think everyone should gave him a break he is only being doing the job for 2 weeks.

Yes, he'd have had the producers telling him to stop the interview but it's down to Brian himself to use his skills as a host to bring the interview to a close, and move onto the next part. Not stand up and run off. :joker:

This. It's really pissing me off that some people don't seem to understand the concept of live TV. Tara Reid, as much as she may think she is, is not in control of the timings of an eviction show, and neither is Brian. It's not his fault that he had to quickly move onto the next question, the interview slot is already too short anyway...there's no time for her stuttering and stupid moaning. She was actually out of order and someone needs to teach her and some other people on this forum how live TV works.

Visage 02-09-2011 11:32 PM

I think he deserves a break, how about the next 3 months..?

I agree, I definately don't want Davina back either, she helped spoil the last 2 series for me anyway.

Which is precisely why a talented presenter is needed for the show. Someone who can handle the pressures of live TV, handle an awkward interview and be professional. Imagine Brian during the race row stuff it would have been catastrophic. As silly and gurning as Davina could be she could be serious and smooth running when it called for it. Running off the stage and outside to shout the numbers because "time was running out" is a stupid excuse.

The producers don't suddenly scream in his ear at the last 5 seconds so he doesn't have time for anything else, they'll constantly be letting him know how much time he has. So, he should have stopped her and wrapped things up properly, thanked her etc and then moved on as opposed to jumping up like a startled rabbit and running out the door.

sol 03-09-2011 01:23 AM

I think he's been doing a great job personally.
Only bad thing about tonight's interview was Tara's bad attitude really, he ended the interview because the show was coming to an end and it just so happened that this conviniently enabled him to leave Tara sitting alone cos she was being an idiot :p
Load of hot air!

How do you know? Thought you didn't watch it?

CaudleHalbard 03-09-2011 01:42 AM

Loads of people on here used to moan about how crap Davina was, with her gurning and style which had not moved on since the first series of BB.

Funny old world isn't it! ;)

Anyone agree?

The interview was rushed like all the others, that's why it had problems. And his dig 'that's live TV for you' or something similar wasn't really necessary.

Patricia4 03-09-2011 07:57 AM

I think he's doing Ok

dizzy bint 03-09-2011 09:04 AM

He's doing extremely well. He handled the interview very well last night and the whole show in fact. I didn't come online last night but my family and I thought he handled the whole show well. I was amazed to read that some people think he didn't.

fruit_cake 03-09-2011 09:08 AM

It's not Brian that's ruining the show, it's the stupid constant background music and over presentation in the highlights mixed with the lack of live feed. I agree give him a break, he'll get better once he gets used to it.

Petershaw1984 03-09-2011 11:27 AM

I also think once the normal series starts we wil see a massive improvement in his presenting skills.

Beso 03-09-2011 11:29 AM

He'd be far better without a script and suit..unfortunatly he has both and he's shyte.

This.

No one ever starts life being a consumate professional - everyone has to start somewhere - and he's clearly not ad-libbing but having to follow what he's told - seems to me he's working with the best that he's been given. let's be honest here: it's hardly as though he's presenting some highly professional, serious documentary is it.

This is what i want to see on my TV on Friday Nights.

But Brian is trying i give him that.

CaudleHalbard 03-09-2011 12:36 PM

The last thing I want to see back is Davina. She has said her goodbyes and it would be an anti-climax if she returned. The forum would be full of moans about it.

I'm not sure Brian fits comfortably within the role (just as I have never felt Dermot O'Leary is right for XF - even after several years). But Brian needs a full series of BB to hone his skills.

InOne 03-09-2011 12:53 PM

Does anyone have a vid of the Brian/Tara interview?

BB beat Million Pound Drop in the ratings last night so why would they want to do that :conf:.

As for Emma, I used to like her but now, meh. On BBBOTS she clearly shows why she wasn't chosen for the main job.

I agree, always thought she'd be great but on BBBOTS she comes across as quite annoying

Surely people watch for the show not the presenter?

Davina > Brian. But I prefer BB as a show so watched that.

Perhaps Brian fans watch the show as they wish to follow his progress - as they are fans : and they watch the show for that reason rather than for any real liking of the actual show.

it's not beyond reason

If the ratings are anything to go by I doubt this theory

It's a reasonable theory all the same. I'm sure the same will apply to lots of presenters of various shows.

What has the ratings for both shows got to do with the hosting skills of Davina and Brian? Davina is 200% better than Brian yet I watched BB because I don't like MPD.

MaratSafinForever 03-09-2011 05:38 PM

Davina brought nothing to the show, she was a presenter, who cares about her...
