People say £500 is too much as a present, but are ok with Alex sharing her winnings

Again, always with the double standards.

Aaron won't spend £500 on a present for the girl, but he will happily take £9000 or whatever of the money she has already won.

She is giving away FAR more then when the presents cost.

You would think a normal adult would say...'hey, you don't have to share your winnings with me, I am grateful you are, have a nice present for your birthday to say thank you'.

But no...

After watching this back I think Alex is actually justified in saying '**** you jack' to him. She won't, but I would understand if she did and just looked after her friends.

He is such a douche.

They all agreed to share it out though

Kerry 08-11-2011 01:09 AM

£30k isn't hers. £10k is

Glenn. 08-11-2011 01:10 AM

Yes, she did agree to be generous with the group if she won.

Pity some in the group don't have the decency to be generous back.

Any of them would've been generous though. The present thing can't be compared.

Tom has a tenner. Maybe he should donate his watch back

Why twist things? They all agreed to share the money equally before they even found out the amounts they were getting :bored:

Which she agreed to share out when they left? Forfeiting any right to say 'It's my money'

Rubbish. The girl is giving away 20k of the money she has won.

Some people would be grateful for that gesture.

If a person had agreed to do that I definitely would buy them a decent B'day present as a thank you.

Lex 08-11-2011 01:14 AM

NO!!...I've always hated it when the prize money is interfered with!

The winner has earned every penny of it....Afterall, £100,000. spread over 24 hours per day for 10 weeks solid is not even a very generous prize imo!

They could get ten times that much for about a half hours stint on Chris Tarrant's show! :nono:

As I said before, whoever won it would've done the same, cos they all agreed.

No, it is her money. It is being paid in her bank account. She won it.

Buying her a £500 present to say thankyou for sharing seems right.

Saying you don't want to spend money on her is churlish, ungrateful, and pathetic.

You really, if someone had agreed to share that money with you, wouldn't buy them a decent B'day present to say thanks?

wow... ok

She agreed before they knew who was getting what. So she didnt agree to share HER winnings. She could just as easily have picked the tenner. Which piece of paper she happened to pick...after everyone agreed to split...means nothing.

Samuel. 08-11-2011 01:20 AM

She's not at all being generous for sharing the 30k, she's keeping up her end of a deal that was made.

Tom got exactly the same as her though

MTVN 08-11-2011 01:21 AM

Come on, this is a very tenuous link you're trying to draw between the two

They all agreed to be generous if they won the 30K. Don't try and single her out as some kind of saint, coz it's NOT the case, your argument is flawed.

No, the rationalistion for not being grateful for someone giving their money, because it legally is her money, away is flawed.

Whoever won the 30k and still agreed to share it would deserve gratitude.

The 30k is not hers. She didn't win it. They agreed the money would be divided equally BEFORE they dipped in the hat. She isn't being generous at all no more than Jay is for handing over 5k of the 15k in his bank account.
Generosity doesn't come into it.

I've watched you post numerous times now and I think you need to start considering other people's opinions, it's like what you say has to be right. All 5 of the housemates agreed to share the money out whatever happened and at this point Alex (or indeed any other housemate who may of got the money) lost all rights to call it their money, or things would have been done a lot differently.

Yeah, but she hasn't even had the chance to keep up her end of the bargain yet. We don't know 100% if she will share it out. Plus, the present money was deducted from Jay & Louise's funds, NOT her's.

So, in the effort to defend Aaron, even her agreement to share her money with the group is twisted and doubted, while not even making a gesture to say thanks is lauded.

I see. Business as usual then.

Well, repetition of the same point once it has been answered clearly is generally not required.

But, hey, keep going for it if it rocks your boat.

HUH?@! How about lousie and jay r so fake threads, or countless aaron is our lord threads?! They are so genrerous!!! If they came in to win the money and have a gameplan; why would they spend that much money. Theyre 100% genuine and generous.

Aaron came off as a right b, ruining alex and toms bday because " jay and louise are acting up to cameras" and deserves to have 1000X more blogs written about him

Why should she be given thanks for something she hasn't yet done? :conf:

Oh right, sorry, I was under the impression she had already agreed to share the money in her account with them so it was fair.

If someone said to you, 'I want to give you £1000', would you really just stand there looking at them with your hand out saying nothing until they put the cash in your hand?

Personally I would say thank you with a smile as soon as they made the offer, and thank you again when they gave me the money.

That's just me though.

Glenn. 08-11-2011 02:28 AM

I think I'm going to be using the ignore function :D
