The Scottish Wildcat
(felis silvestris grampia)
Description | Conservation | History | Breeding program | Identification
Meet the neighbours

http://www.scottishwildcats.co.uk/im...ildcatpic3.jpg
Unique to Britain, and now only found in Scotland, they are a sub species of the European wildcat (felis silvestris silvestris) and although similar to the European the Scottish is slightly larger with a thicker coat, more heavily camoflaged and hunts and lives across a wider range of habitats; it is also infamously known as the only wild animal that can never be tamed by human hand, even when captive reared.

So there.

Nah, she doesn't really count. She's a 'wannae Yank' so she's half American by default .....

She later moving to the United States, where she worked in marketing and international business. In 1984, she received an MA in international relations from the University of Pennsylvania.[6] In 1994, she obtained an MA and, in 1997, a PhD, both in holistic nutrition, via a distance-learning programme from the non-accredited American Holistic College of Nutrition, later the Clayton College of Natural Health in Birmingham, Alabama (but since closed). She is a member of the American Association of Nutritional Consultants.

She met her American husband, Howard Magaziner, a lawyer, in Edinburgh, where he was spending a year studying. At the time he ran a chain of health food shops in the United States, with which she became involved

I think of Ireland alongisde the UK. Might not be a politically sensitive thing to do, but despite our previous differences, I think most Brits regard the Irish as being a part of the "family".

Well, no doubt we're probably very similar in attitudes and humour, on the same wave length I think.

I think the queens visit to Ireland just recently really helped mend alot of bridges for people here.
