The Rovers didn't always looks like it does now [Pics!]

We all know what the Rovers looks like now and it feels sacreligeous to the show to change how it looks on the outside
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Qb3XKpvAs2...o/s1600/cs.png

Though in 1964, it looked a little different
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aY6j0yckIF...0/s1600/rr.png

and in 1960 it looked different once more!

He's not gonna be back until like, March, I think Steve & Tracy are gonna move into the end one in between now and then. Craig Charles is off filming Red Dwarf :D

Kerry 18-12-2011 02:03 AM

Wow, it's weird seeing the houses in a straight line like that, plus who's in them. You can barely tell half the time

Scarlett. 18-12-2011 02:10 AM

I have to admit until I saw this I never really knew who lives next to who lol

Me either. They were just there :joker:

Scarlett. 18-12-2011 02:15 AM

Lol yeah, I knew who lives in which house as they all have their own unique looks but its hard to tell usually who lives where

Kerry 18-12-2011 02:18 AM

I thought Dev and Sunita were much further down. But then again, the street looks so short there. You watch and it seems neverending

Scarlett. 18-12-2011 02:21 AM

Aye, it's all camera trickery in the show, though on the new set the street will actually be life size :p

Kerry 18-12-2011 02:22 AM

Are there any shots of the 'posh' side of the street?

Jords 18-12-2011 02:29 AM

Wow I never realized they are next to each other like that and on the row with the pub!

Jords 18-12-2011 02:30 AM

I cant believe the Barlow's live right next door

There's no views of it like there is of the terraced row, this link shows how the new side has changed over the years lol

Did you not see Becky/Steve talking over the back yard wall to Amy? :D

To be honest though it's not hugely obvious. I mean, I knew one side was terraced but it never really seems it

It is strange to see it laid out infront of you. For some reason I had Eileen across the road from the pub yet knew full well she was in a terrace so .... :conf: :joker:

Who lives on Mawdsley Street?

Kerry 18-12-2011 02:51 AM

Oh cheers, Chewy, that's great

Jordan. 18-12-2011 02:52 AM

Is there a reason why one of the houses has different / blue bricks I always wondered :suspect:

That's Vera's beloved cladding. She thought it made them look posh :D

Scarlett. 18-12-2011 02:53 AM

This one? That's cladding that Vera put up in the 80s before then it was like the rest

http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3369/3...891ba4bfb8.jpg
Number 7 next door to it has new brick because it actually collapsed in the 60's and wasnt rebuilt to the 80s, factory owners generally own this house

Thats gonna look a lot better than it does on the current set, as the Mawdsley Street houses are going to have roofs and basically the back sides of the houses will be fully built

As they currently look

With them being more complete on the new set, it is possible we might see them used :p

Aye, its kind of a shame its become the "young persons" house after decades of it being Jack and Vera's

Here's how it looked in the 70s (at the older set)

I don't think there ever will be "one last affair" until one of them pops their clogs :joker:
