Mutya Keisha Siobhan [General Discussion]

And currently in the studio. :D!!!!

Benjamin 05-01-2012 08:49 PM

Including Siobhan? :amazed:

Shaun 05-01-2012 08:50 PM

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD
i understand this is your equivalent of "David Bowie working on new album" so OMG GURL //ah //ah //ah

Z 05-01-2012 08:53 PM

Mutya and Keisha have both tweeted that they're in the studio with Professor Green today, and Siobhan has tweeted twice before so I can't imagine she'll do the same but seeing as Heidi's currently preoccupied with training for Dancing On Ice, I think it's safe to say that rules her out... it's been a badly kept secret for months with no confirmation until today! I'm so, so excited and pleased!

Shaun 05-01-2012 09:07 PM

oh professor green?

*burns my copy of Three*

I hope they are called The Better Ones.

Benjamin 05-01-2012 09:22 PM

The Sugababes. It was their name.

Doogle 05-01-2012 09:26 PM

Is there going to be a big battle for the name or something? :amazed:

Z 05-01-2012 09:42 PM

I don't know, but I don't think so. It seems like Sugababes 4.0's fate rests entirely upon their endeavours in the coming months - Heidi on Dancing On Ice, Amelle apparently releasing some solo material and Jade apparently close to clinching a presenting job on The Voice in some capacity. Apparently they will be staying together as a group and, depending on well they fare, that'll decide the fate of their musical career. I imagine that, by the time all of that has played out, the original line up will be just about ready to release some music, so in all likelihood the issue of their name might not even be an issue if the 4.0 line up cease to exist.

reece(: 05-01-2012 11:30 PM

keisha_buchanan Keisha Buchanan
Hanging out in the studio with @professorgreen and two lovely ladies with bags of talent :-p lol

:o:o

Z 06-01-2012 03:06 PM

Siobhan is now following Keisha on Twitter and has deleted her two previous tweets. This is really happening! :D!

Doogle 06-01-2012 03:08 PM

I hope it works this time.

-plays the original lineup material to celebrate-

LaLaLand 06-01-2012 03:13 PM

They'll probably end up hating each other again.

Saph 06-01-2012 07:18 PM

I always concider Mutya, Keisha and Heidi to be the best batch of Sugababes. Siobhan was okay but there best hits were with Heidi

Doogle 06-01-2012 07:20 PM

Right I listened to their debut for the first time in years today and it is by far their best album, I am excited.

Yes but Heidi decided to stick with The Fakes.

Marc 06-01-2012 07:44 PM

Good.

-gets copy of three out and- /bate

Z 07-01-2012 12:58 AM

I think the thing with Heidi is that she was always seen as being a more commercially viable but less talented replacement for Siobhan; demonstrated by the fact she can't sing Siobhan's parts in Overload, for starters. It's hard to say but I think they'd have still had all the same success that they had with Heidi if Siobhan had stuck in there, but we'll never know obviously. I think it's just exciting because it's always felt like unfinished business, there was potential that was never realised there, and Siobhan and Mutya have never been able to get away from the name and both have respectively failed to beat the success they achieved with the band as solo artists. It just makes sense. One Touch is a great album and isn't comparable to 2.0's music because it's not got anything properly poppy on it.

Doogle 07-01-2012 01:01 AM

I love both Heidi and Siobhan tbh.

Soul Sound > everything else they've ever made

Z 07-01-2012 01:09 AM

All jokes aside, I like all six of them, they all have their merits and their weaknesses. It's just so exciting to imagine what they're going to come up with.

Ex-Sugababes singer Mutya Buena has denied claims that the original line-up are reuniting.

Keisha Buchanan, Siobhán Donaghy and Buena were recently reportedly working on new material and were set to record with the Xenomania songwriting and production team (Girls Aloud, Kylie Minogue, Pet Shop Boys) as well as their old producer Cameron McVey, who worked on their 2000 album 'One Touch' and Siobhán Donaghy's debut album 'Revolution In Me' (2003).

But Buena has taken to her Twitter page Twitter.com/originalmutyab, denying any plans that she is set to record with her fellow band members and is apparently concentrating on new solo material.

She wrote:

No track [with] Keisha or Professor G, he was around the studio. I'm just working on my stuff at the moment.

The original Sugababes line-up formed in 1998 and released their debut album 'One Touch' in 2000. Donaghy left the band in 2001 and was replaced by Heidi Range. Buena departed in 2005 to be replaced by Amelle Berrabah and Buchanan was last to leave in 2009, with Jade Ewan stepping into her shoes.

Z 12-01-2012 04:32 PM

It's bull**** she only said that after she said the thing about being in the studio with Professor Green to try and backtrack; so many other people have been tweeting about working with them (e.g. people congratulating Felix Howard, their manager) and him being with Reggie Yates who tweeted about hearing three voices he hadn't heard together in a long time on a new record, and he was with Felix and tagged him in the tweet etc etc... basically they're not making an official announcement and presumably have gotten the press to do likewise until things are more concrete. It doesn't make any sense to announce it now when they have no material forthcoming just yet - they could make so much money out of selling their story to an interview with someone or even a documentary, they're not just going to admit it over Twitter. But they've been leaving subtle hints all over the place. It's happening.

Z 12-01-2012 04:33 PM

Plus, her tweet doesn't deny they're reuniting, she just says there's no track with Keisha and Professor Green; and there are rumours that they're all working on solo albums to release in tandem with a reunion project so she may well be telling the truth.

Z 12-01-2012 04:33 PM

Aaaand Siobhan's started following Keisha and Mutya on Twitter. Suck on that one, deniers.

Me. I Am Salman 12-01-2012 06:33 PM

Shaun 12-01-2012 06:47 PM

following someone on twitter =/= recording an album with them though :/

I think I just won't get my hopes up until it's confirmed

Mystic Mock 12-01-2012 07:18 PM

The Originals will beat The Fakes I hope.

MNEK tweeted about working with them, then denied it, then admitted he was lying when he denied it because he'd let the cat out of the bag but then everyone else started leaking information. PopJustice even have a front page article dedicated to it with a list of all the facts. They wouldn't run it if they didn't think/know it was happening.

Niall 12-01-2012 07:32 PM

Quite excited about this if it's happening. Siouan was always the most amazing.

Overload was easily their best song too IMO.

Z 12-01-2012 08:02 PM

I don't agree with Overload being their best ever single but I think it stands head and shoulders above most British pop debut singles and it's definitely stood the test of time, it doesn't sound dated like a lot of other songs from that era. It's certainly one of their best but I think their best music was when the band consisted of Mutya, Keisha and Heidi. Then again, they had better contacts in the industry to be able to make better music. I think Siobhan is more than capable of making better music than what they made back in 2000 and it's obvious that Keisha and Mutya are too.

Saph 12-01-2012 08:38 PM

My 5 favourate songs were..
1. Round Round
2. Too Lost In You
3. Hole In The Head
4. In The Middle
5. Freak Like Me

Shaun 25-02-2012 02:07 AM

Siobhan's changed.

Z 25-02-2012 02:08 AM

Oh and Boy George tweeted that he'd heard new material today, Siobhan's tweeted about working with BiffCo and Keisha tweeted a picture with him, the list goes on... they should be releasing music in the summer. It's a badly kept secret now.

reece(: 25-02-2012 02:32 AM

Wish they'd hurry up and get it out there!
